A word from Aslam's Rasoi
Few will find it surprising that Indian food is easier to find these days, as you may be aware, Indian cuisine is growing in popularity for many good reasons. Indeed, the complex spices and fresh ingredients are leading many to choose Indian Cuisine as more than just an exotic dining experience... but as a healthy, everyday dining choice.

Here at Aslam's Rasoi, we also add a broad palette of Pakistani flavors to our menu and we are proud to see that our addition of Pakistani cuisine has proved a successful choice.

This blending of cuisine can be readily enjoyed in our main courses and our selection of appetizers. We hope you will try these dishes in addition to our inventive Indian Cuisine.

Best Indian food EVER in San Francisco. Very friendly staff. The tandoori food was cooked just right - NOT dry. "Heat" (spicy) to your liking. Definite gem. Will return.

Everything we had was delicious- they have the best naan i've ever tasted- thin, hot, wonderful. Lovely waiters, super friendly, but not overbearing. The chicken salad appetizer (which doesn't sound "Indian" but is) was outstanding. Veggie dishes are my favorite spinach daal in particular, but have to say the lamb also melted in my mouth. Can't wait to go back.

Aslam's Rasoi is far too loud and warm but their food more than makes up for this. Lamb korma was delicious, chicken jalfrezi was okay for American standards and the pakora appetizers were also tasty. The best thing was their naan bread. If you like Pakistani cuisine with attentive service, this is the place for you.

Really great food. Very busy on a Saturday night, make a reservation if you can! It's a little cramped because they try to fit everyone in. The mixed vegetable curry (can't remember the name) was amazing. All of the sauces and spices were great! The server was great at helping us order the right amount of food and pick good dishes, she was a little absent after that but that was fine because we were enjoying the food. Good food, a little on the pricey side but it was a great dinner.

This is my go to spot for excellent Indian food. There's never a wait. The flavored of their dishes are spot on. While most places have dry chunks of chicken breast, this remains moist and tender. The waitstaff is more than helpful and accommodating. We ordered the prawns korma and he suggested adding fruits to it as the chef had made the dish for his with the addition of pineapple. This is always the place I go whenever I need comfort food. Chai - rich creamy Mango lassi - creamy and sweet. Definitely a dessert drink Chicken mahkani - awesome! Creamier version of the tikka masala. Prawns korma - excellent! Kheer - excellent rice pudding. They don't have this all the time though!

One of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood- owned by such a gracious family. They serve consistently outstanding food- chicken korma (kids love), bengan bartha and kheer (when they make it) are the staple for us. They are extremely kind to our kids. We love they are thriving in this location, we need to have them around like, forever.

We were welcome by a friendly waiter who was very accommodating when I asked to change table to switch to a less crammed part of the restaurant. Room is big with high ceiling which is a nice feature in this part of the city and atmosphere was warm and pleasant. The food was good and ingredients were very fresh. I am only giving 3 stars because I always expect more of a kick and burst of flavors when eating Indian but that's based on my experience living in Europe previously. It's the 1st Indian restaurant I go to in SF so will have to see how other places compare. I did appreciate that the waiter asked the level of spicyness desired by each guest. Special mention for their house drink specialty, a rose flavored lassi, yummy!

Three of us took a mutual friend out for her 60th birthday. Knowing she was a vegetarian and liked Indian food someone recommended Aslam Rasoi. Asking for a quiet table for 4, I dropped off a birthday cake prior to our reservation. The manager and all the wait staff were warm, and welcoming. The manager put us in a table by the end of the bar, and we were able to converse comfortably despite the rising din of a full restaurant. Our wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. We took her recommendations and were very happy. From appetizers to daily specials and specialty breads the food was served hot, fresh, and delicious. The manager helped set up the cake, and our waittress served it. Wonderful ambiance!

I've been there many times and the food has always hit the spot. The only downside to this trip was the service. I had guests from out of town visiting and specifically had this place in mind. There was a HUGE birthday group...it was probably between 20-30 people. I imagine that reservations would be needed for a group that size. The servers definitely were running around. We had different people check on us, but when we asked for more rice it ended up taking longer than normal. The dishes from our table also weren't cleared in a timely manner, so we sat there finishing our second bottle or wine with a lot of plates in front of us. Overall, not too big of a deal breaker, food tasted great.

The food was very good. The waitress came once and then was hard to find. They did not bring out my raita when they brought out the food. I had a hard time getting the waitress' attention to let her know. By the time she brought it out after I asked her about it we were practically done with our meal. I should have just cancelled that as part of the order.

Came here for a birthday dinner. Great ambiance but a little too loud IMO. I had to shout even though my partner was sitting directly in front of me. I found the food pretty good especially the mixed seafood fried rice I believe (forgot the name). The portion is quite small but the quality and ambiance makes up for it.

A group of 8 went for dinner at Aslam's Rasoi. We ordered individually, but shared "tastes". Everything was wonderful and it was hard to pick who got the best meal. I went back the next week with two others, to try some of the dishes we missed the first time. It's a nice space, a tad loud, and the prices seemed very reasonable for the quality of the food. One drawback was that our waiter was a little pushy in terms of trying to get us to order more than we wanted. Overall, a great place.

The best Indian restaurant in the City. We ordered the tandori chicken which is always moist, the eggplant, chicken tikki masala, the lamb special and the okra. We wished there were bigger portions because we tore it up. There were 4 adults and one teenager. The mango lassi was also refreshing. Overall, the place is a little more pricey than your standard Indian restaurant but you're definitely paying for the quality of food that you can taste and tell the difference of.
