Second time at the rail for dinner and both times were great! New Year's Eve was perfect for a quiet romantic dinner for a low key evening. The food was outstanding as well as the service. We were greeted by the general manager to make sure we were enjoying our evening. I would definitely recommend the rail for a romantic date night or for a fancy night on the town!

Great food, great service. It was a little different than I expected, I took my wife and 4 children, told everyone to order whatever they wanted, so it was quite a pricy night. It was great reward for my kids, whom are extremely well behaved, to experience elegant dining. We all had a good time. I would not recommend it to families with kids that can't behave and control themselves. I've got 2 teens a 10 & an 8 year old, they were all dressed up, we all ordered from the same menu, and the staff did a great job of making the kids feel special. It was a holiday season treat.

We were married at White Clay Creek Country Club 6 years ago and every year since we have gone back and eaten At The Rail. We love the food and have never been disappointed! There is a bus boy there that has been there every year that we have gone and I think his longevity says alot about the restaurant!

We went on a Friday evening and the place was NOT crowded. Yet our service left something to be desired. We sat outside and watched the sun go down. Weather was perfect. It's pricey and the food is good but there is an imbalance there. For those prices, I expected excellent food and larger portions. The live music was very good. :-)

I enjoy the atmosphere here. The noise is never overwhelming so you really can have good food & conversation. I love all the windows and the brightness of the place. The menus is interesting & not run of the mill. The staff if very friendly but the service is slow. Plan for that. I often meet friends & family there and have a perfect visit.

Our lunch was at 1:30 PM and the restaurant, fewer than half of the tables were in use, yet the order arrived at the table more than 20 minutes after it was placed. The food was absolutely spectacular and all in our party of 9 enjoyed every item that had been ordered - not a weak spot to be found. The service and atmosphere could be a bit better. Due to the open nature of the space, the restaurant and bar sit in close proximity to one another and we often found ourselves being drowned out in conversation by golfers who had just finished their round and were hitting the 19th hole. We were also a bit disappointed in that we were celebrating a birthday and a graduation (same individual) but there was no gesture or other treat on the part of the restaurant to recognize the celebration. Will likely go back for dinner with my wife just because of the food, but we'll look elsewhere to celebrate.

We decided to go somewhere nice for my daughter's graduation weekend and chose The Rail. Were we ever wrong. The dining room was not full, but they did not have nearly enough servers. After waiting for an hour the server nearly spilled dinner on our lap. The crabcakes were good, but not great. Service for an entree, coffee and dessert took nearly 3 hours -- unacceptable. Not what I expected from this establishment and would not go back.

The food was outstanding. The service started out great, moved to slow when a large party arrived. The staff were very attentive when we were enjoying our food, then seemed to ignore us when we were waiting...for the entree...for the dessert...for the check. I know they were busy, but just a "sorry for the wait, we'll be right with you" would have been a nice touch. Maybe the kitchen is slow? Or maybe with just the two of us we were slightly impatient.

Our party of 6 decided to make reservations at the restaurant due to the unavailability of a table at our first choice. Were we happily surprised! The food and service were excellent. A glitch in getting there due to misdirection from 2 different DP employees made us late. The Rail called us to see if we were keeping our reservations and helped us find them. The manager heard our tale and graciously sent comp appetizers our way as an apology from DP. We will go back again as every bit of food was delectable, the manager was very professional and the service great. Signage is difficult to read at night inside the park, if you go in the Stanton entrance. Use the entrance by the CC hospital.

Pleasant experience. There was a prix fix menu on Saturday evening offering two food courses and a dessert for $34.99. All were FULL portions. First course was a sweet crab / corn risotto. Excellent texture and perfectly cooked. We each choose a separate main course. I had the grilled day boat scallops (5) half dollar size perfectly grilled served on a skewer and atop white cannelloni beans and chopped panchetta. Bride had a perfectly cooked MEDIUM NY strip with garden vegetables. Wait staff are young but attentive albeit a smidge too much so. The pace was very brisk and very frequent. We asked our fresh faced server twice to allow us to finish our wine before asking about serving our desserts. Minor flaw aside, nice experience.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 1/1/2012
At The Rail is essentially a big open room with lots of tables and a long bar. It is not exactly cozy but it is informal and comfortable with a golf motif. Large floor to ceiling windows overlook the golf course and there appeared to be a patio for outdoor dining. There was also a pianist playing. We were there for Sunday Brunch New Year's Day. The menu was brief offering the standard fare but also a Crab Benedict, a stuffed French Toast special and a lobster omelette. The omelette was quite good and generously filled with very sweet lobster meat. Topped off with some Mumm's champagne it was a good experience. I would go back.
