Dining at this restaurant was both an honor and joy. It is the incarnation of the fantasy created by old movies with Astaire and Rogers. The room is breath taking in an elegant Art Deco style. Sitting in this room, you MUST feel grown up. The staff has mastered the art of being attentive without being intrusive, formal and friendly, knowledgeable but not condescending. Drinks were fine. The wine list met a broad range of tastes and pocketbooks. The menu was focused but provided for a variety of tastes. The food was properly prepared and presented beautifully. It is a real treat for a romantic special event.

We have eaten at Orchids at the Palm Court on numerous occasions and will continue to do so in the future. The little amenities begin with a palate-pleaser and end with a neatly packaged sweet to enjoy at home while reading or watching tv. In between, the service is outstanding with servers seeing to our every need while never giving us the feeling of "hovering." We have visited Chicago, New York and points west and have not found any restaurant that can equal Orchids' consistency for excellence throughout its menu and the quality of its ambiance and service.

Have been hearing and reading about Orchids at Palm Court for a long time. Took our son-in-law for his birthday and he is a foodie. He and my daughter had a great time and Mom and Dad loved their company. Food and service were superb...noise level got bad at times because of wedding reception above.

Wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Orchids. It was one of the best meals we have ever had. We had seafood dishes. They rivaled anything we had at La Bernardin in NY. The Halibut Cheek was delicious. The Red Snapper "En Papillote" was the finest preparation of Red Snapper I have ever had. The outer pastry was perfectly done. The sauce, with it's apple flavor, was a wonderful compliment to the fish. The pastry chef even wished us a happy 30th anniversary by writing it in chocolate on our dessert plates. A great end to a wonderful meal. Have to add that the Sommelier made a great wine recommendation to accompany the meal.

My wife and I went to Orchids at Palm Court to celebrate a great year. The servers were very attentive and provided excellent service. However the food was average in our opinion. I had a steak which was cooked properly (medium), but it was surprisingly tough. My wife had scallops which were overly seasoned with salt. The appetizers were excellent (beignets & tuna), the dessert was amazing (banana cake) with 5 spice ice cream. We also received several surprise dishes throughout our dining experience, which was nice. Overall, our dining experience was good, but we had much greater expectations for the main dishes (We've had better at places that charge much less).

I eat at many restaurants in the downtown and greater Cincinnati areas, and Orchids at Palm Court is by far one of the best and nicest restaurants around. The food is superb, in taste, ingredients (some are locally sourced) and fabulous timing and presentation. All of the waiters and other staff were very professional, nice and knew how to suggest and talk about all of the menu items. This restaurant is located in the Omni Netherland Hotel, one of the oldest and most distinguished hotels in Cincinnati. The decor in both the hotel and the restaurant is exquisite, a beautiful restoration of the original design. The ambiance was elegantly relaxed, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Dining at Orchids is always a pleasure, but this was an unusual meal. A friend recently became a pure vegetarian for medical purposes and was feeling a bit down about options available to her. Three of us joined her at Orchids to experience a delightful tasting menu - - veganism done right, even down to gluten-free vegan bread. Even for the non-vegans among us, the morel mushrooms were as delicious as a finely prepared steak and the chocolate cake was out of this world. Todd Kelly and Megan Ketover always astound but with a little notice, they totally shocked us all with an incredible experience.

Orchids at Palm Court is, hands down, one of Cincinnati's top restaurants. The food, service, and atmosphere are spectacular and I couldn't have asked for more. I had dinner there this past Friday and everyone in my party was without any complaints. They also had a lovely jazz group playing music throughout the dinner hours. I highly recommended this restaurant to anyone looking for an upscale dining experience in an absolutely exquisite space.

Let me begin with, the food was very good. Not a lot of it, but very tasty. Had the blue cheese beignets appetizer....if you have been to New Orleans, then you would know these were not beignets, but fried hush puppy like things smaller than a quarter, served with 1/3 C shredded cabbage. Tasty, but nothing special. For the entrees we had the scallops.... Three medium sized scallops and a single baby beat cut in half with two small (so so) hush puppy like things does not a full meal make! And we had the duck. Again, very tasty, but not a lot of food. Bread was divine. Service was excellent....always close by but never hovering.

Orchids is THE place to take someone for Anniversaries, Birthdays, etc. While it is very expensive, it is worth it. We just tried their Grand Tasting with wine pairing. This is a 10-course meal, so make reservations for early in the day. It took us four hours to finish and it was worth every minute.

Our meals here overall were very good. The duck was just ok. My wife and daughter had steaks and said they were excellent. My salad had about 5 bites for $11. The chocolate dessert was dry and brittle. Not good. The banana dessert was very good. For the money, I would choose other places like Jeff Ruby's, The Precinct, Or Morton's.

Celebrated our 2nd anniversary here. Had an early time at 6:00pm and it was not busy. Almost had the wait staff to ourselves. We tried every course, sweetbread for appetizer, each had a different salad(so we could share), had the Chateaubriand for two(24oz!). It was cooked to perfection and carved at the table by our server. We had to skip dessert because we were full but they brought us out a complimentary plate with "Happy 2nd Anniversary" written in chocolate on it. Very nice touch to end our evening there. Everyone on staff who met us wished us a happy anniversary, it was very pleasant dining experience.

My husband and I dined here to celebrate my birthday. We both did the Chef's tasting, but with a substitution (I substituted my entree for the scallops, and my husband sub'd the 2nd course for the blue cheese beignets). Turned out that we both wished we hadn't substituted, but it was nice to get to try more dishes. Also, the wine pairings were incredible! Definitely something to save for a special occasion, but very worthy of all the accolades.

With the foodie trend to chef-run restaurants where the sole focus is on the food, I thought places like this were gone. The place is beautiful, intimate, attentive and delicious - all in one. Everything was superb from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. The food was better tasting than anything I have ever experienced in addition to being the most beautiful to look at. We recommend the Beet Salad, Blue Cheese Beignets, Lamb Duet and Red Snapper "En Papillote". The latter being the most creative fish dish I have ever seen or eaten. In addition to our order we were surprised with an Amuse Bouche, a small bowl of their Asparagus Velouté, a Cookie and Candy sampler and a take-home container of their delicious homemade Granola.

My husband and I dined at Orchids at Palm Court for our anniversary. Even though I noted on OpenTable that we were celebrating our anniversary, I did not call the restaurant to ask for anything special, and I was pleasantly surprised at all of the ways Orchids acknowledged our special occasion. There was a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary on our table, and many of the restaurant staff wished us a happy anniversary when they saw the card on the table. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was excellent, and ALL of the food was absolutely incredible. For us, dining at a restaurant as wonderful as Orchids at Palm Court is a rare treat, but we hope to return whenever possible. Orchids at Palm Court tops our list of places to eat!

The chef's tasting menu had lovely spring cuisine, (including halibut with fiddlehead ferns, asparagus soup, and lamb). With the high quality of service, romantic 1930s Art Deco ambiance, (which made me a little lonely as a business traveler), and very good food, my visit seemed very good value. Two small notes: Please include tap water when offering water choices. I was first offered sparkling or still. This was my first contact with the wait staff and it came across as very pretentious. Also, my lamb entree got to me to just above lukewarm. But overall I greatly enjoyed my meal in this beautiful restaurant.
