A word from Wolfgang's Steakhouse - Tribeca
With 4 decades of experience, Wolfgang Zwiener didn't duplicate an exceptional steakhouse, he improved on it to make Wolfgang's Steakhouse exceptional. The porterhouse steak for one, two, four or more, is an outstanding choice. The atmosphere, expanded menu & professional service will appeal to even the most exacting diners. Wolfgang's is pleased to add this location in the heart of downtown TriBeCa.

we had a great time at Wolfgang's from the minute we arrived. The maitre d', Arnie, is an absolute treasure. He welcomed us warmly and we were seated immediately. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was terrific. Arnie checked back at regular intervals to make sure we were happy and although we had one guest with us who wanted the wine decanted in a certain way our wine waiter was both patient and cooperative. Grace under fire! We will definitely go back and intend to make this one of our regulars.

The steak was ok although there was not much flavor. We had the Asparugus which was totally unseasoned and the German potatoes which I didn't reallize were supposed to be served burned (not very attractive) and we basically left the sides untouched. The deserts were very good though. The wait staff were very attentive without being too much to the extreme. Unfortunately, we will not patron them again.

I specifically put in my comments when I made my reservation that this was a business dinner for my firm. When arriving at the restaurant, they sat us in the middle of 2 large groups in the center of the floor which made it impossible for us to talk business across a table of 7. Food was good as expected but our client was disappointed with the overall treatment at the restaurant.

We have visited here often and I was shocked and disappointed by this experience. It was quiet and not busy, but my filet mignon was almost raw, not medium rare. I had to return it and then wait for them to cook it. By that time the rest of the food was eaten and I left the steak. When I asked to take it home, I specifically requested that our leftover rolls be packed, they were not. The onions were full of grease and the mushrooms weren't well done enough. They charged for each iced tea, a real insult. This was a $400.00 meal that wound up in the garbage. I am beyond disappointed. I would love to be contacted by the management! we had a great time at Wolfgang's Steakhouse. We arrived 30 minutes late, but the maitre'd was charming about it. The first table we were given was next to a noisy group but we were reseated immediately without fuss. Our service was excellent as was the food which came quickly. We were a group of 6 and everyone has plans to go back.

I had the steak sandwich, which is normally excellent. On this occasion, the meat had so much fat that it was impossible to eat it as a sandwich, so I had to take the meat out and eat it with fork and knife, cutting off the excess fat. Definitely not as enjoyable as it should have been.

the steak was really incredible, the cottage fries and asparagus perfectly cooked. the seafood platter was good but not amazing. i took my boyfriend for his birthday, and even though there were lots of big groups there, our table was quiet enough and we didn't feel ignored by the servers. in fact, they were very nice and on-top of things without being pushy.

The Weighter spilled red wine all over me. He told me they would "take care of it" and they comped us a dessert. Clearly an accident, and thats not my beef (no pun intended) I was sure they were going to offer to do more, but if i hadn't gotten up to ask the manager what they were going to do about the cleaning of my shirt, it would have gone without them offering to pay for the cleaning bill. Not to mention i sat through my entire dinner wet and uncomfortable with red wind all down my shirt.

This was not our first visit but it was for the 2 couples we were with. Everyone was full from a scotch tasting/light fare we attended earlier in the evening but we insisted we didn't cancel this reservation and they wouldn't regret it. Needless to say, they LOVED Wolfgang's as much as we do and even ordered dessert! On our ride home to Pennsylvania they will still talking about the steaks how it was the best they ever ate. Never a disappointment with the food or the waitstaff, love that Sal! Excellent every time! Leslie Giardiello

The wait staff was amazing and the food was great... but there was a substitute Maitre D who didn't seat us for 1/2 an hour. And when he finally did it was because we reminded him we were at the bar. My friends are frequent patrons there and love it there. They have never seen this Maitre D before and he was so rude that they got into an argument with with him and he actually cursed at my girl friend. She's never had that happen before and we would have left... but the head waiter stepped in (I believe he's usually the general manager) and calmed us down and apologized and gave us a free bottle of wine... but I just wanted to send in this comment.

We went on the early side - 6:30 reservations - so our experience was probably a bit more mellow than average, but the service, food, and experience were outstanding. My husband is a huge steak fan while I'm more of a "only if it really impresses me" connoisseur, and both of us loved it. I don't think Luger's has anything on this place, and the decor probably makes it an even better find.

The food was superb, the waitstaff very attentive and we were seated promptly. We had a nice table looking out to the street and watched a little bit of the sunset. The only very disappointing drawback was that the table we sat next to had multiple small children who were allowed to run around freely in the dining room. They almost caused a spill with the waitstaff more than one time, were extremely disruptive and loud, and sat themselves in the middle of the room to "play". I was extremely surprised that the management said nothing to them. To me, it ruined the whole ambience of our dinner. Kids should be welcome yes, but to me, Wolfgang's is not a place where your children should be allowed to run around like Romper Room.
