Great place. Very interesting and diverse menu. Lots of sakis to choose from and very helpful wait staff. They did a great job of utlizing all of the space from the predecessor restaurant (Bertucci's). I would highly recommend going to Red Lantern.

Great food and prompt, friendly, unobtrusive service. My Lobster Rangoons were excellent, as were the teriyaki steak noodles. Entree portions were generous - I'm sorry I was going to a club after: I had to abandon the leftovers! I was last in this space when it was Bertucci's, and it is still basically a big brick box. Kudos to the designer for turning it into a comfortable space where an intimate conversation is possible.

I love the Red lantern for special occasions and have been several times now since it opened in June. The only drawback is that it is very noisy if you are trying to hold a conversation. I had 5 guests at my table and could only hear parts of the conversation because of the background music. Otherwise, the food and service were excellent. I'll be back!

This is my third visit and i was amazed by the improvement they showed and the excellent customer service i received. Mr. Micheal (Director of Operations) and the Restaurant Manager both where extremely welcoming and friendly. The Wine Menu not has a wide selection of Wines from the New/Old World and the Food was excellent. This restaurant is perfect for a Date or a Romantic night out. From Staff to Managers all where Proffessional and i would definately recommend this place!

This is the second time in 2 weeks that we go. It was great the first time. It was outstanding the second time. The food was spectacular, and once they noticed it was our second time there in a week, they went beyond themselves to make us feel at home. Our third time is approaching quickly is my sense. Thanks Red Lantern for a wonderful evening.

I really looked forward to going to this restaurant for a friend's belated birthday. We arrived 15 minutes early to our reservation and they seated us right away! However, although we were there at 7 pm and not the usual 8 or 9 pm dinner, the lights were not dimmed at all and I didn't really like it. The drinks were great and original however, when a waiter spilled water all over my new dress, the only thing we got was a taste test of one of the dessert wines. I was expecting the bill paid in full! I think that would have been a good move for a restaurant that had just opened. Especially since they ruined my outfit for the night. Besides that mishap, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone living near the Back Bay.

I heard a lot about this place and was quite excited to dine there. The ambiance was great, decor was fantastic. The waitress barely had knowledge of the menu. She would say things like: "The noodles are both thick and thin". This place has a lot of potential but, as it is, it can't even beat PF Changs. The menu is limited, expensive and not that impressive. Even Wagamama has a more interesting menu. In all honesty- this place has a lot of potential and I really hope they refocus a little. We need more swanky places in Boston, but if this place was shooting for TAO (NYC/VEGAS) then they have a LOT of work to do.

Very cool scene; something a little different for Boston. Drinks were funky and GOOD, a little pricey, but were worth it. Dumplings were amazing--appetizers were much better than entree, but in all honesty, things were kept simple for the main course; still very tasty. Bar area looked like a cool spot to hang and the drink list was different, tasty, and unique. Definitely a must check out place in the heart of Back Bay.

The 2 of us really enjoyed our dinner at Red Lantern. We sat with Josh and he was so great. Very friendly and energetic and also very knowledgeable about the menu. He gave us some great recommendations and we loved our cocktails and the cucumber salad. Also suggested a spicy twist on a sushi roll that turned out delicious. The skirt steak with noodles was the least impressive of the dishes, but the lobster rangoons were wonderful. And the decor turned out beautifully! Overall a really fun and delicious night out! Definitely will be back soon.

Your jaw will drop at the great space--dramatic and creative! We had 5 dishes, 4 of which were very well executed, including a side of baby bok choy that was the best ever: tiny, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fried rice was a disappointment: bland and mushy. Only open 3 weeks so far, but shows great promise and we will be back.

Great space, but feels a bit too much like theater. Food interesting but not great -- coffee was cold. Made reservation for 5 but seated at a big table for 6 and were told "sorry" no smaller tables. Despite lots of staff, there were long delays between courses and even getting plates and silverware AFTER entrees arrived. Server talked about a cod special that only he could offer, which was strange. I think they have some kinks to work out. Not sure I would to go back.

Very un-Boston! Felt like we had gone to Vegas for the night. A great place for celebrations and big groups. I can imagine Bachelorette parties and large birthday parties there. It was pretty loud and tough to have conversation, but it all added to the ambiance. The food was upscale chinese and was very good. The menu was a bit small and limited for dinner items, but the appetizers were fantastic!

Red Lantern is a SIGNIFICANT ADDITION to the Boston restaurant scene. The menu is amazing and the food terrific. I went with my wife on a Sunday, walking over from the Colonial theater where we saw West Side Story. It was rather empty (only open for 2+ weeks) but we were taken very good care of by a wonderful waitress. We shared the lettuce wrapped chicken, pork fried dumplings, and duck spring roll with apricot hoisin (wow), followed by beef tenderloin fried rice. The beef was unbelievably good. We'll try steaks the next time back. This restaurant seriously elevates Boston dining. Most highly recommended.

Environment and food were great. Fantastic people watching and a great scene. Fun drink menu. Service was awful. Our server couldn't have been nicer and everyone seemed to be trying hard but the level of experience was poor and management seemed to have no concept of how to organize dinner service. It was apparent that little time had been put into training or finding experienced wait staff.
