A word from Match 65 Brasserie (formerly Paris Match)
Offering the French brasserie experience “without the attitude”, this UES “secret gem” draws an “elbow-to-elbow” Euro crowd into its “suave”, “fairly authentic Parisian” digs; “consistently well-prepared” classics at relatively “reasonable” rates and “amiable, competent” service complete the “pleasant” picture. Match 65 was great! We got a great corner table as per requested in our open table reservation. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and the crab cake dishes as appetizers. My salmon as an entree was grilled perfectly, moist and soft on the inside and my friend enjoyed the delicious mussels and french fries. The ambience was welcoming and the service excellent. We look forward to going back.

The restaurant was very festively decorated with a warm, holiday feel. The service was excellent, the wine and food were very good. Our party enjoyed it very much. We had the Christmas menu of turkey, filet mignon and salmon from the regular menu. We were not offered coffee or tea at the end of the meal which I thought was odd. Our party didn't really want it anyway--we had enjoyed the wine and dessert and did not need it. Maybe one of the waiters thought someone else had asked us.

  • The food was excellent. Unfortunate
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 12/25/2012
The food was excellent. Unfortunately, the service - or lack there of caused our dining experience to be bad. The waiter never came back to get a repeat drink orders ever throughout the meal, he never brought a course of a price fix meal, and we waited forever for a check even though it had been requested. When we would ask the person clearing a course for service - they would not respond, nor did they ask the waiter to respond to our needs. Would not return here when there are so many other great places to go.

Had lunch at Match yesterday, what a pleasant experience. They were full good thing we made a reservation. It was a vibrant, energetic atmosphere full of business executives, tourists and young professionals. Match has a fantastic menu, so many good things to chose from. We had a tuna tartare to share, which was fantastic. Then I had the steak frite and my friend had the onion soup. Everything was so delicious and to top it off we split a tarte tatin-AMAZING!! add some vino and that equals the best lunch i had in a very long time. The service was very friendly, attentive and professional. Cant wait to return, for dinner this time! Also hear they have an amazing brunch.

We stopped in for an early dinner before catching a movie at the Paris theater. We started with a half dozen oysters and then moved on to the steak tartare. Two coupe de champagnes and a pastis topped off the evening. We loved the French bistro ambiance and vowed we'd be back!

Although several items on the menus seemed a little over-priced ($17 for a Croque Madame sandwich!) we had a very nice dinner here ~9pm in mid-summer and we liked the overall French bistro ambiance. The outdoor seating on the sidewalk would have been appealing if not so hot and humid that eve. and the British waitress (at French bistro?) was particularly personable and accommodating.

The first time I went to this restaurant was with a friend who lives in the neighborhood. I noticed French people eating there who knew each other and thought that was a good sign. There were simple things on the menu that weren't insanely expensive, but if you want a full course dinner, you could get that, too. I took my cousin, who was raised on a Chateau in Bordeaux and we loved the escargot. He was in town from California where I don't know how many old-style French restaurants there are, so it was a hit. They even made pasta for my eight-year-old (who loves French food and knows better than to order pasta from the frogs, but after all, she is eight!) Went with friends/family so can't say, but would probly be romantic by candlelight

What a find! Wonderfully prepared classic French bistro food, delightful service, and decor that makes you feel as if you are sitting in your favorite neighborhood on Paris. The pate de campagne is fabulous, as are the frites. Everything was good, and the wine list is really interesting and pretty reasonably priced. Will definitely return, and highly recommend!

Excellent restaurant and shocking review below. The décor and the ambience reminded it us of the great Parisian French Brasserie. We were welcomed by a wonderful lady who gave us a great corner table. A pleasant, wonderful and very knowledgeable waitress guided us on the menu and made perfect recommendations . The appetizers were absolutely delicious; Excellent Yellowfin Tuna Tartare very Fresh and very pink in color served on top of avocado with fresh ginger and a spicy homemade mayonnaise, incredible Maryland Crab Cake, very tasty, perfectly cooked and crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The main courses were also delicious and the molten chocolate cake desserts was the "icing on the cake". we can't wait to come back w/ friends.

Returning from Paris I was looking for a little reminiscence and was overwhelmed by the restaurant ambiance and the food. I thought it was actually better than what I experimented in France. The food and wine by the glass were perfect - excellent Chablis, nice, crisp and slightly oaky, the steak tartare and coq au vin were beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The decor is beautiful, the lighting perfectly dimmed and the crowd is very chic.

My old man seeks a time he wasn't alive for. Its very amusing, but its what makes him happy so what can you do. My family as a rich history tied to France. My parents lived there for nearly a decade. I was born there. My sister speaks it fluently, as do my parents. (I'm still trying to f'n learn, its embarrassing I can't speak it, one day) We started with some oysters and clams. All ice cold and flavorful, with tons of water. We then split a frisee salad, crab cake, and Croque-monsieur. I love the frisee. It might be my favorite salad. I'm surpri

may have been my worst experience ever with a french restaurant. Food was overcooked and took forever to come. Service was spotty at best. Waitress came to table maybe 3 times in the span of 2 hours. I understand that Saturday nights are busy but you should have adequate staff (both waiters and cooks) to ensure customers are served correctly. In two hours, we got an appetizer, an entree and a dessert and 1 set of drinks. Unacceptable service and food quality
