The Green Room is unmatched in this area for its friendly, attentive service. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and the waiter remembered our previous visit some time back. We enjoyed the excellent prix fixe menu, which paired very well with the Hotel Dupont centennial wines from Bouchaine. Meat was tender and excellently prepared. At the end of dinner, we were presented a special dessert acknowledging our anniversary. Must dine!

Top-quality food and exceptional service. Lots of little extra touches that made us feel special: personalized menu with our names printed on top, "pre-appetizer" and "pre-dessert" courses (literally just a bite to allow us to sample something different.) Exquisite presentation, superb timing (neither rushed nor too slow) -- and of course, those famous macaroons to top it all off!

This was our second visit to the Green Room in the last 6 months. We very much enjoyed both times. Our last visit was on 2/21/14. The food, particularly the petite filet mignon, was exceptional and compared well to high-end restaurants we've been to in Las Vegas. The wines we selected, and especially the Hourglass 2011 Merlot, were very good. And the service was both attentive and helpful. We'll be happy to return again!

My past experience as a young man left anticipation for another wonderful dining moment but that was not to happen. I must say the service was impeccable and ambiance as remembered from long ago and expected the cuisine to live up to that standard. The chef disregarded my request for dietary restrictions such as non-sodium, which ruined the natural flavors of the vegetables and main course. The wilted green salad was soggy and salty, as were my sides with the smashed potatoes being inedible. My last complaint is a complete variance of the actual menu to that presented on the website. We won't return or recommend.

We've attended the Valentine Brunch in the Green Room each year for a decade. We love enjoying a leisure afternoon with out-of-town guests who stay overnight at your hotel. We're able to linger and talk long after we're finished eating. It's not a rushed pace and the food choices are excellent. The Green Room is our 1st choice for an elegant brunch in the greater Philadelphia & Wilmington areas. May our tradition continue and may your establishment continue delighting guests - loyal and new alike.

One can never go wrong dining in the Green Room at The Hotel. Some save it for special occasions, but I view every occasion as special. Although on this particular date we brought our guests for Sunday Brunch, I have also enjoyed afternoon tea with a friend in the luxurious Green Room. Don't think you have to be dressed to the nines to dine here; smart casual is just as welcome. Wilmington is a very friendly city; the staff at this hotel aims to please and they do an outstanding job.

The serving staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food was good, although some portions (e.g., the duck) were very small relative to similar fine dining venues in the region. The Green Room itself is a beautiful room, and I recommend it for couples seeking a romantic evening or afternoon. Other than the small portions of some dishes, my only complaint is that the otherwise very pleasant maître d' was nowhere to be found when we attempted to collect our coats on the way out. After several minutes, we attracted the attention of a woman down the hall who was able to get them for us. Although we had a nice time, I'll probably make a reservation elsewhere the next time I want to spend $100 on lunch.

This was not my first trip to the Green Room so expectations were high. We started the night with an amuse buche, a bit size item that the chef prepares just to amuse. It was tasty and delicate. We followed up with romaine salad, fresh and pleasant. The main course was sable in a lovely broth with bok cho. We skipped desert but still had the opportunity to have a macaroon to top off dinner. The service was attentive and not rushed. We were going to a show at the Playhouse so it was convenient. The price is on the high side but the food is well prepared and served so it is worth it especially for a special occasion.

After reading the reviews, I decided to go to the Green Room with my husband and his family. The food was good but not great! Rib Eye a bit tough in my opinion.. (and we eat out quite often) The sweet potato gnocci and lobster bisque soup also just ok. From this high end restaurant and prices, I expected a LOT more... I will not be retuning.

We have been to the Green Room brunch many times, and this was the first time we have been disappointed. The buffet foods were find - although most of the salads were rather bland. The cinnamon bread pudding and smoked salmon were highlights, but nothing else was special. The problem was with the entrees - the chef is trying too hard. The roast beef was simply not good enough meat. The mahi mahi was over-cooked and unattractive, The weird eggs benedict were one of the ugliest presentations ever. Many of the desserts were dry; the mousse/pudding was not good. The room remains gorgeous, The pianist and talented and pleasant. Staff service was mixed - again unusual for the Green Room. Everyone is entitled to an off day so we will visit again.

We went on Christmas Eve morning to enjoy a nice breakfast and savor the tradition of the Green Room. We knew it wasn't brunch but the service was lackluster and they didn't keep things full so there was a lot of waiting around for things to be replenished. Honestly, if you can't do it with the staff you can muster on Christmas Eve, don't do it.

Wait staff were nice enough but didn't listen. I ordered gin and tonic wirh no ice, it came heavy on the ice. The duck starter was great but the smoked salmon crepes were not great. Crepes undercooked and boursin sauce did not work well with the capers. Crab cakes tasted a lttle sour. Dessert was really nice. Sadly we didn't enjoy the espresso...kitchen staff had begun cleaning the machine before end of service so we had to settle for regular coffee. Wait staff were clearing the table before we had finished eating and our coats were brought from the cloakroom with our dessert. If you don't want to stay late don't offer table bookings late! I had expected more from this high class restaurant and feel more than a little insulted.

I have to say, I was a little disappointed in the overall experience. The Hotel was always my favorite Christmas outing. The beauty of the lobby and the Christmas trees was something to behold, but this year I was dumbfounded as to why you would decorate a historic hotel with that horrible furniture and rug that looks like Marshalls Home Store décor. Even the trees were not as opulent as they once were. The food was good, but not outstanding. There was very little to choose from on the buffet. The desserts were ok, not like the your Pastry Chef was used to displaying with perfection. Our wait staff was attentive. I don't know if I would recommend my favorite restaurant for a Christmas visit this year.

The green room at the hotel dupont is a classic old school restaurant, dark and richly appointed. They have updated the menu with a price fixe and if you make a reservation, the menu is printed with your name on it, an interesting touch. On a play night, a bit hectic until that crowd left.
