Food was excellently prepared. Presentation was up to snuff. Service was near perfect. The room is elegant. For the life of me, I cannot understand why we haven't been there more often.

The Green Room never disappoints, it's the perfect place for a sophisticated business lunch and the service is impeccable. And there is good reason the open faced crab sandwich has been on the menu forever!

I usually love to go to the Hotel du Pont for special occasions. I look forward to an upscale environment and food choices. Service was fair with cold coffee and I had to ask for it twice. Dress was very very casual and food was less than good. As a native Delawarean and former fan of the Hotel, I am sorry to say that this was my last trip for brunch.

  • Sadly Disappointed

Very disappointed experience. We had lunch and my expectations were high after reading all the great reviews. Food was terrible start to finish and service was even worse - could barely understand any of the servers and needed to ask several times for things we ordered. I hope this is not how they conduct their weddings, my friend is getting married here soon!!

We were the only ones in the room for our 6:15PM dinner reservation. A few other guests arrived while we were dining. There is not another dininng room like it, very elegant. The piano played throughout our meal. Service was excellent, and the waiter refered to us by name. Very impressive. Be prepared to spend some some money, for unique experience.

  • The champaign Sunday brunch
    Essq
    Dined on 7/17/2011
The champaign Sunday brunch came with 2 glasses of champaign or cocktail (we had 1 of each). There were breakfast foods, omelet, side dishes and sirloin carving stations. The entire sirloin was rare, a wonderful finding that is as rare as the meat, which was both tender and tasty & the side sauce was very good and didn't overpower the meat). The sirloin was so good, and it's so unusual to find rare meat that I skipped the breakfast and omelet stations and had seconds. Nice salmon mousse and lightly smoked shrimp, both nicely presented. Fennel/truffle soup had good flavor & not overly rich. Very nice dessert selection. Meal not excellent because the hot foods were barely warm. Special occasion stated in reservation NOT acknowledged.

  • Bastille Day not such a Revolution
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

This place has SO much potential ... yet it is untapped. The room itself is beautiful (although some of the light bulbs were burned out). The Service lacked (our server's collar was unbuttoned and loose under his tie)and the food was OK. We went there on Bastille day (July 14th) to celebrate the anniversary of our engagement at the Eiffel Tower 13 years ago ... as a restaurant that markets itself as French, you would think they would celebrate that evening ... they new nothing ... when I asked they looked at me like they didn't even know what that occasion was ... they also "back-peddled" and said that they were not really a French restaurant .... just French inspired! Well, I was not inspired and was dissapointed with the evening.

Although the Green Room is a beautiful place to have brunch, I was somewhat disappointed in the choices presented. In the past, it seems that there was a larger selection of both breakfast and lunch entrees. Moreover,I expected there to be a chicken entree and none was offered.

I have been to the Green Room many times. I keep going back hoping for a return to glory. Unfortunately I keep being disappointed. For the price it is just OK. Nothing special other than the fabulous decor.

We really enjoyed our dinner at the green room. We were married on Friday and stayed at the Hotel DuPont on Saturday evening to start our honeymoon before flying out to Mexico. Our waiter was great and the ambiance was amazing. Incredible service and DuPont truly lives up to their name. The food was very good but it's really the setting and service that makes The Green Room stand out

  • Green Room Brunch

We went for an anniversary celebration and attended brunch in the Green Room. The decor was very nice, management was very social and pleasant. Food was great, nice selection and appreciate the complimentary bloody mary, mamosa, or champagne (appropriate for our attending). Server was nice, but it seemed as though another table was getting higher priority over us and the other two tables so unfortunately I can not stand by a high rating on service. I must compliment the chef (Ken) who was so nice and noticed we were there for our anniversary and brought out a fantastic dessert with congrats on the plate. He was the first and most impactful of the staff there who went out of his way to make our visit memorable, so thank you so much!

Very poorly trained wait staff and a long wait for sandwiches at lunch on a Saturday. Kobe burger was overcooked and not medium as ordered.
