Went to Pumpkin for gf's birthday. Extremely small slightly cramped. Innitially there was some confusion regarding my reservation name and it took a good bit of time for a waitress to come over to help but nothing significant. Now for the food. Appetizers - shrimp and the escargot. Both tasted good but overall were somewhat underwhelming. Had a nice variety of sauces on the plate (3/5). The entrees were a different story. I got the duck (jus, pinot noir sauce, coffee crumble) which really was delicious. Duck was cooked great and included both breast and dark meat. Awesome. GF got the sirlion which I found slightly tough (sirloin not a great cut of meat IMO) but she licked the plate clean which she never does. Tons of sauces 5/5

The food is exceptional here--on par with the most ambitious restaurants. The room is rather bare. But for the price, who can complain?

This sunday tasting menu was divine. Food and service were perfect. Only tiny little flaw in the meal was that the coffee was very weak and unsatisfying. Last time it was good, this time very bad. Otherwise, a wonderful experience by all 6 of us.

One of the best dining experiences ever. On par with the famed "French Laundry". The detail and care put into everything placed on the plate was just perfectly pleasing to both the eye and palette. Chef Chris is one of the most talented chef's I've met and his passion for fresh ingredients is displayed in every dish. It's rare to have a meal so perfectly prepared:)

Food was delicious. Presentation was as pretty as anything I'd ever seen -- we almost didn't want to disturb our dishes as each was so attractively prepared. Taste pretty much measured up, too. Prices seemed a bit higher than a few comparable places we've eaten, though. Overall, worth the trip and we enjoyed our meal.

The food was outstanding and the servers attended to our needs with just a little oversight required. It's a small dining area so it's a little cramped and not much was put into the decor but this was easily remedied by the food. A fantastic mix of flavors. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Pumpkin is a real gem. The food is excellent, fairly priced, and imaginative. The service staff is well trained. The food is consistently good, and the restaurant respects its patrons. One of the few restaurants I can go to without worrying about whether the food will be good - it always is.

Normally I love Pumpkin always give it positive raves but this particular trip was disappointing (bound to happen). I thought the food was a bit lack-luster (gispacho soup, and lamb). For an expensive place (two apps, two entrees = $90, cash only) I expect more. What really got me this trip was my entrée. I saw an appetizer (lamb) that I liked and asked for that as my entree. The server asked if I would like to get an entrée size portion for $26 (app was $8 I believe). I said not a problem. I know Pumpkin has small portions, and am perfectly fine with this, but the portion on this plate was abyssmal. I am pretty sure I got the regular app, even though I paid more than three times the cost.

We have dined at Pumpkin probably 8 times over the last couple of years and it has always been one of our favorites. However ,our visit this past Saturday night fell short. The food was very good, but we found the choices limiting on the menu. And no specials, just "special" side dishes. Which were just okay. The service was horrible. They were VERY crowded. Every table was booked. And every time we asked our server for something she acted as if she was doing us a huge favor to wait on us. She really ruined the experience. We always recommend Pumpkin to friends, but now I am hesitant.

Pumpkin has a small menu, but the courses we selected were divine: delicious lamb starter and green gazpacho, duck and scallop entrees. Portions are relatively small, so we were glad we had appetizers with the mains, but then there was no room for dessert. The quality of the food was outstanding, the preparation spot on, and the presentation lovely. We had been waiting to eat here for a long time, and it exceeded our expectations!
