Tricky location way out east at the UN but beautiful menu and spectacular food, especially if you're on the expense account.

I would rate the restaurant much higher, but when I explained to the server that the reason i left most my salmon over as it was over cooked, and not as specifically requested (rare), he could care less. All the other food was excellent.

We had the tasting menu so we tried a lot of different things - sashimi, kobe beef, sushi. Everything was good and some things were excellent. The sushi and sashimi didn't overly impress us so I wouldn't go here over someplace like Nobu. The Kobe beef was divine as were some of the hot appetizers like a tempura-style asparagus and shrimp. Interestingly, the dessert - a mango mille feuille cake - was fabulous. The presentation of the all the food is beautiful and the service is a bit awkward but friendly and attentive.

Lame. Seated more than an hour late. First the maitre d sat us in the bar area and asked if we wanted dinner there rather than the restaurant below. We waited 45 minutes and said we'd eat up there and another manager said there were no servers working up there. Needless to say, not recommending or returning.

Spectacular Japanese sushi etc. I'm not really a foodie, but I do enjoy being pampered, which thley are great at. But only if you want it. This is a quiet, business-like place, or romantic. Either fits. And the dipped asparagus appetizers are fabulous - don't miss. I have been back agailn and again.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

My guests really enjoyed this restaurant and if they were rating it, it would certainly have been ranked 5 stars. I, however, found it simply above average. I wasn't crazy about the food because I didn't have much to choose from, as a vegetarian. I was surprised about how slim the choices were for me. Last week, I went to Asia de Cuba and actually had my own menu. Anyway, the ambiance is amazing, the wait staff is good. I was mildly annoyed by a waiter who was coercing me to pronounce the title of a German white wine correctly. That was so unnecessarily awkward. Overall, the restaurant is top notch and I will take my guests there again. I, however, might seek different options for my diet.

Certainly a spectacular setting and attentive service there were too many small things not in order (stained table cloth, stained menus, two selected menu choices and one drink choice not available)for our experience to be truly outstanding. Our group was in good spirits and we enjoyed the evening, an overly critical group would have not accepted the a.m. limitations with a smile.

We were celebrating a very special occasion, so I really asked the management (and staff) to go above and beyond with special requests. I brought a special bottle of my own wine early and asked that it be decanted for an hour before our reservation time. I also asked that they bring out birthday gifts as "surprise additional courses." They were very attentive to our needs while dining, as well. We did the 6 course tasting menu (which I helped select)... the food was exceptional and just the right amount. Pre-dinner cocktail was also delicious and beautifully presented. All in all, this is the place to go when you want (or want your guests) to be treated like royalty. The bill gave me a bit of a shock, but it was totally worth it!

Overall a C+ , no body at reception. After we found somebody it took them 10 minutes to seat us- We had a reservation and the place was empty and they had no idea were we should sit. The tables require being moved in order to get in an out. The table service was good. The wine selection was limited and B class- the cost value was okay. Overall okay.

Attentive service and an elegant decor could not make up for the predictable lack-luster food. A dinner for two with the sake pairing can cost you a car payment, so make an extra payment on the Mercedes instead of dropping it at this restaurant. Quite disappointing.

I prefer this Megu over their Downtown location. The space is less extravagant, but I somehow find the food to be much better here. In fact, I actually prefer the less touristy ambience of this location. The service is great in general, but the last time I was there, I got this really cold and unfriendly server--which is really unusual for an upscale authentic Japanese place.

The kobu beef is to die for. I would go back in a heartbeat, not just for the tasty food but also for the amazing plating, which was enough to wow me before the steak melted in my mouth. Everything is done with such thoughtfulness, you truly appreciate it while having your meal. The dining area is a lot brighter and open then the Megu Downtown, so i prefer this for a cozier and more intimate meal. There's enough space between tables so you won't feel cramped, and can carry a normal tone private conversation comfortably.
