Greatest Christmas Eve dinner with my family yet. We were able to last 2 1/2 hours with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. Enjoy our food and wine and desert. Just doesn't happen for us often. And for it to happen on Christmas Eve it was a special treat. Looking forward to returning.

As a first timer I was a little confused on how the menu worked but the waiter was very helpful. The staff knew it was my gf's birthday as soon as I told them my name. I think that was very cool (when I made the reservation I made a note that it was her birthday). We both had fun and enjoyed the food, especially the duck. It was a unique experience and well worth it.

Sure it's fondue, but it's the most overpriced melted cheese you will ever eat. The service is unbearably slow and not that friendly, the wine list consists of bottles you would find at an Irish pub but at top prices. The cheese and chocolate fondue is very good, the entrees are okay - but everything is an upgrade. The children's menu is so incomplete that you are basically forced to get them a $45 adult 4 course dinner - which is if course way more than they will probably eat,but otherwise they only get one protein fondue (no cheese,no chocolate) and my kids weren't excited about going to a fondue restaurant to cook up some chicken on a stick. In the future, I will dust off our fondue pot from 1974, melt some cheese and call it a night.

I had always wanted to try this restaurant but my husband was a little hesitant, he didn't think he would enjoy cooking his own dinner. Let's just say he was pleasantly surprised! The cheese fondue was creamy, tasty and more than enough for the three of us (we brought along our 10 year old daughter). Our main entrees stayed nice and hot due to the fact that we were able to cook and eat them at our own pace. And the milk chocloate fondue was TO DIE FOR! Our waiter, Frank, was exceptional; he explained the whole process step by step since it was our first time there and made sure we were ok throughout the whole meal. I even booked a table for my office holiday party due to this wonderful dining experince.

The Melting Pot in Darien is our favorite place to go for my birthday and our anniversary. They know how to treat their guests and are always checking up on you to see if you need anything. We always walk away full and happy. I usually get the garlic and wine seasoning when we go, and this year I almost forgot it. When we were up at the front reception area I remembered and was given one on the house. It was great! Thanks again for always being so wonderful!!

We have been going to the darien melting pot since it opened. This was the last time. The food plates have gone to half the size, the price has gone up. The wine list is no longer as good. The glasses of wine also smaller and yet more expensive. The service was bad. You are sacrificing quality for your own profit. Time to move on.

It had been about 10 years since I had been to The Melting Pot in Darien, so I was unsure of how my experience would be. After all, many things can change in 10 years! To my very pleasant surprise, the years have been kind to The Melting Pot! My friend and I were escorted to a small but roomy booth toward the back of the restaurant. Our server was very willing to educate us on the menu and procedure as well as recommendations. The food was fresh and so tasty! The specialty drinks were all winners and we left feeling completely satisfied! I guarantee that it won't be 10 years before I go back again!

Wanted to take my sweetie to someplace different for dinner. So we drove from Stratford to Darien to The Melting Pot. Had made online reservations for 6:30 but the traffic gods were smiling on us, and we arrived a half hour early. They seated us immediately, thanking us for coming, and explained the set up. You can have one course (fondue), two courses (salad also) three courses (entree also) and four courses (dessert). As we had both had lunch earlier in the day, we just had the two courses. The Bourbon based special fondue was awesome and the salads (Caeser and Spinnach) were adequate. It is a bit pricey but for a special evening with someone special or four a group getting together, it's worth $$. My sweetie greatly enjoyed it.

My daughter came here for dessert only with a group of 8 girls. They loved it and had fun. So, I can't judge the food. I think its in a great location. Not happy with the floor rugs. I think they had a bad odor. Also, I thought the whole atmosphere was a bit too dark....everything seemed black and bit too cramped.

I will definitely patronize this location again. I hadn't eaten at a TMP in five years, when I had tried a limited menu at the Atlanta location during Atl's restaurant week. The Darien experience was amazing! The service was excellent. I have nut allergies, and both the manager and waiter double-checked what I could/could not eat. The waiter was so friendly and thorough, and checked on us constantly without being annoying. I was there with a friend, but I would definitely go back with my boyfriend. I think Darien's ambience comes off as more romantic with the dim lighting and dark furniture. Everything tasted great, too. You will fill up quickly! If you like experimenting with your food, this is definitely the place for you.

It was my first time at The Melting Pot and I would certainly recommend to a friend. My friend and I did the four-course dining experience, based on input from our server Chris, which I think for the first time was definitely the way to go. I think next time I would do 'a la carte' and probably do the cheese fondue, salad and dessert fondue. I didn't care for the meat in the broth as it was a bit hard to monitor the actual cooking of the meat. The seafood was definitely tastier than the meat. I really loved the cheese fondue and the chocolate! Will definitely go back! The service was impeccable. Our server, Chris, was very knowledgeable of the menu; directed us to the right choices. He was friendly, professional, right on target!

I have gone to The Melting Pot in other states, and this one is the only one in CT. We happened to be staying in Norwalk, so we were finally close enough. They aimed to please when I said it was my husband's birthday on the reservation, with even a card at his seat when we arrived! The set up of the restaurant makes it so that each table is very private. Very cozy for a romantic dinner for two. I love it.

We took a group there for a fun birthday celebration for our 13 year old daughter. She and her friends had a great time, and enjoyed the unique experience of dipping and cooking their own food in the fondue pots. I thought the cheese fondue was excellent, and the mike chocolate desert fondue was to die for. But I would suggest skipping the fondue entres, which pretty much consisted of boiled chicken, beef and shrimp. Also, the price was pretty out of control, when you consider that what you're really eating is mostly cheese, bread and chocolate, which you prepare yourself at your own table. If I had it to do over again, I would have skipped most of the meal, and just taken the group there for the chocolate fondue dessert.
