A word from Sam's
Sam"s is not about reinventing the wheel. It's more about finding four wheels that we wanted to drive around the Boston Waterfront. The local bounty of New England's farms and artisans; the simplicity of an American Diner; the endless and timeless appeal of the French Bistro menu; and the warmth and welcoming spirit of our home.

Located above Louis Boston on Fan Pier, Sam's is a 45 seat restaurant that offers stunning views of the Boston skyline and waterfront.

We are conveniently located next to the ICA and Boston Courthouse, and a short walk to the Boston Convention Center, World Trade Center, and Bank of America Pavilion.

During the warmer months, seating is available on our 80 seat patio. Reservations are only offered for the inside dining room, but please feel free to call about our wait times for outdoor seating.

Great food, but very noisy. My guest and I had a hard time hearing each other across the table. If you are looking for a more romantic experience I suggest booking your table after the main dinner rush is past. There are outside tables as well with a nice view of the water, but it was pretty chilly the day we went, so few braved the balcony.

We had a fabulous lunch. Starting with THE best Bloody Mary I have ever had. The raw oyster's on the half shell, didn't need a thing, but the sauce that came with them was delicious. The Feta cheese that was on the beet salad was the freshest I think I've ever had, and I shop farmers markets all summer long. The pan seared mussels were indescribably good. Every seat in the restaurant has a spectacular view of the harbor. Can't wait to go back for a night time dinner.

we made a reservation for 8:30 but weren't seated until 9:15 pm, but the staff was really nice and gave us free drinks and appetizers. the setting is gorgeous, even more so if you get there before sunset and if it's warm enough to sit outside. they had a live jazz band which was cool, but also made it hard to talk. dinner was very good, brownie dessert not so much.

We had a really great meal. The owner seated us and checked in twice during the evening. Great food and good service. It's low key in a European kind of way - children were eating with parents, and it was totally relaxed. It was early on Sunday evening. It was about $60 a person with drinks and appetizers and a dessert.

We thought the food at Sam's was very good, especially for the price. We had a citrus artichoke soup that I LOVED and some garlic pea tendrils that I'm going to try to copy. Sitting outside overlooking the water felt like we were on vacation and when it got a little chilly they brought us blankets. Dessert was a little disappointing but the location, the wine and the herbal tea kept us lingering and enjoying for quite a while.

Sam's offers a perfect dining experience with city and water views no matter which table you are seated at. The food is certainly fit for a foodie and the price is right. Wish more people would venture out to try it. This was my second dinner at Sam's and I am certain I will be back again for cocktails on the deck in the Summer months.

Endamame was great, french fries were perfect, cheeseburger was terrible. They do a contrived 2 thin patties which results in a well done, dry burger. I had asked for medium rare, which after the fact the mgr told me they don't do, but the burger was past well done. It was a waste of money. The view is spectacular but the food was just ok. Wine by the glass is very expensive. I will go back but really just for the view.

Sam's is the perfect spot for a romantic Sat. night dinner overlooking Boston Harbor. The menu has enough options to please everyone's palette. We especially enjoyed the oysters as an appetizer and the warm olives. WE had fantastic service, and we were able to eat leisurely, even though it was a Sat. night. We will be back! Also, the bartender is outstanding! If you don't have time to sit down for dinner, have a drink and an appetizer at the bar. You will not be disappointed!!

This is the third time we have been to Sam's, once for dinner and twice for brunch. I don't want to rave too much because I don't want it to get so popular that we can't get in. It is a gem. We have had good experiences all three times, once for a group of six and twice for three. I would like to see an expansion of the brunch menu. Looking forward to our next experience over Father's Day weekend with our daughter and son and his family.

We made a reservation only a half hour before on a Friday night, and were able to get this great table looking out directly to Boston Harbor. Before being seated, we got a drink at the bar while we were waiting and another during dinner. The cocktails were amazing. They really don't skimp on the portions which often happens at nice restaurants with quality food. As we were leaving, a live guitarist set up and started to play, which added to the ambiance. Also, the walls in the hallway were all chalkboard material, and there were baskets of chalk left out. It was fun and goofy to draw on the walls on our way out. Overall AWESOME experience! We were so pleasantly surprised and could not believe we hadn't been before.

This place is perfect. Hip, but not pretentious. The menu is interesting but not complex and overly thought out. Seems like the focus is on food prepared in a really good way. The service is perfect too--all friendly and attentive but not overly all over you. I know this sounds like a big gush--but i love this place--oh yeah, one of the best views in the city.

Our first visit to Sam's was on a Friday night at ~9PM. We will definitely be back. Highlights of our meal included impeccable service with an attentive and friendly (but not intrusive) wait staff, an amazing view of downtown Boston, and excellent food. We started with a dozen oysters that were shockingly cheap at $1.50 an oyster. The price, however, did not reflect the quality, as the oysters were fantastic. I then had a goat cheese / crouton salad that was very good, and had the choucroute garnie (which is a combination of pork belly, bratwurst, duck sausage, and sauerkraut) which was very good. We had a bottle of red wine which was well-priced at $32. Overall, an excellent experience and we very much look forward to coming back!

Wow, what a gem! There are few places in Boston where you can get such well prepared cuisine with such an amazing water front view. The playful combination of fine dining and casual diner meld perfectly with a exceptionally well prepared but approachable menu. The service was top-notch and city and water views right next to institute for contemporary art make this an amazing venue for dinner outside of the normally trafficked routes. In the party I was in we had everything from coq au vin, to crepes to a burger & fries - all impeccably prepared. I highly recommend the restaurant.
