Very, very, very noisy. Service very, very slow. I asked for horseradish, never got it. Food OK. Appreciated the gratis cheese cubes from the waitress. Price is somewhat high. I liked making the reservation on-line.

Other than the table seated next to us (verrry loud & we could've asked our server to be moved if we were really annoyed), everything else was stellar, and I don't use that tem lightly. Zingerman's is a class act all the way, from the quality of food to the quality of service. Ari came out and introduced himself (and his salt and pepper shaker collection!) after pouring water for one of the tables. What could be better than that? We will be back. Just wish Z's was closer to Cleveland! Heck, we wish Z's WAS in Cleveland! Bob & Jan Patetta

  • Despite having reservations,

Despite having reservations, the hostess said it would be another 20-30 minutes and we ended up waiting 45 minutes to get seated. While we waited, we ordered a round of drinks and stood in the bar area. The bar area was really crowded and we felt like we were in the way for the servers and hostesses. After being seated, our table was near the bar so it was extremely noisy. Our server forgot our appetizer and didn't compensate by buying us a drink or dessert. We also waited 40 minutes for our entrees. The food was good but NOT worth the price. I had a special--4 scallops, greens, and "chips" for $29! For that price I'd rather sit in Ann Arbor's Eve, West End Grill, or Earle Uptown, and have better food, ambiance, service and no noise.

Exceptional wait staff! We have frequented Zingerman's deli, but this was new for us. Our waitress explained the menu well and even provided samples. This is a wonderful change from the standard "American" food fare and ho-hum barbecue. Thanks for a terrific experience.

The food was quite good but they ran out of coffee (at a Sunday brunch) because the coffee maker was "broken". That seemed odd. Also, the ladies room needed some attention.

The portion size was large for me but I think my husband left hungry with what he ordered. The service was excellent, we waited a little too long for our food and it was overpriced for a brunch. But all in all we enjoyed it, probably won't return for brunch but maybe lunch or dinner.

While service was great, the Mac and Cheese was only so-so. The brisket was outstanding. As with most Ann Arbor Restaurants, we found it very overpriced. While the main Bar area was interesting, the dining room had the feel of a cheap wedding banquet hall.

As per usual, everything was spectacular. My one negative would be the waitress. While she was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, her willingness to share tons and tons of information became tedious. Normally staff is well-informed but offer in depth details only as requested. Our waitress felt the need to go into glorious detail after detail, all of which would have been fantastically interesting for a singular item, but for the entire menu was a bit much. Also, we waited a bit long for the check. As always, the food was top notch! Cheers!

Zingerman's Roadhouse really grew on me, and it's one of the things that I miss most about Ann Arbor. I don't really think there is anything on the menu that isn't great, and the wide variety of weekly specials make it like going to an entirely new restaurant every time. You will not be disappointed, especially if you try any of the barbecue choices or the fresh fish specials. Also -- a surprise brunch favorite. Try the huevos rancheros.

Zingerman's is our old tried and true favorite- when we feel like going out to lunch or want to take our kids and grandkids out for a meal, or just go out for a Friday night dinner it's usually our first choice. Roadhouse atmosphere and food make it special. Staff is friendly and competent. Classic cocktails like the Sidecar or Monkey Gland that you've heard of but never saw on a menu; carefully thought-out reasonably priced wine list.

Took my family there for dinner after my sons' graduation. I have to be honest and say I was not overly impressed. Being Zingerman's, I had figured it would be outta this world, much like their deli. It wasn't bad, but I really expected more than what we got for the money. Don't think I would be in a hurry to return.
