One of my favorite restaurants - never had a meal I didn't like and 1/2 price bottles of wine on twice a week! Great little roof-top dining area with super ocean views. Easy for a business lunch, but bring quarters for the underground metered parking across the street!

  • The outdoor patio upstairs
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 5/1/2008
The outdoor patio upstairs in the back is very nice and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very slow and the chair I sat on had something black on it (like toner ink) and the back of my pant leg had it all over it. Something else black (like film) fell down into my glass of water. They probably need to do a better job cleaning.

Food was light, but not too flavorful. However, several items on the menu looked very good, so we will give this place another chance and go back to try other items.

Unfortunately the salmon on the salmon salad was so tough we could not cut through the fish. The waiter gave us free coffee and the rest of the salad was good, but the salmon itself was not acceptable. This is reflected in the ratings. Usually the food is very good.

  • Sbicca is our favorite restaurant
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005
    Dined on 4/22/2008
Sbicca is our favorite restaurant in Del Mar for good reason. We always have our anniversay dinner there and we can't say enough good things about the food and service. We also love to support local businesses who support their communities. Sbicca is obviously a local favorite and that lends to the ambiance. Incredible fresh food, especially the seafood. Each dish is so well thought out, like perfect marriages of flavors. I could have the "Trio" again and again! The staff is wonderful! We have our favorite and have enjoyed her for the last 3 years. She makes the visit all the more special. We are already looking forward to our next dinner at Sbicca!!!

Creative cooking; Tuesday and Thursday 1/2 price on bottles of wine is great; a bit noisy and this time, a bit cold with doors open to the outside upstairs in order to accomodate servers.

  • This was one of the worst
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 3/28/2008
This was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. I ordered the filet. It was topped with bleu cheese and grilled onions. I love bleu cheese, but it was like eating a hunk of bleu cheese on a bed of meat. Absolutely horrible. The meat was not flavorful at all. My husband had the chicken, and it was just as bad. Again, they topped it with bleu cheese on a bed of pumpkin spiced mush. Those flavors do not work well together in the least. The chicken was extremely dry. The restaurant was exceptionally quiet for a Friday night, and now I know why.
