A word from Piazza Sorrento
Voted "Best New Restaurant" by Harrisburg Magazine in 2009, Piazza Sorrento is a modern Italian restaurant based on the "Old World" Italian recipes of the owner's family back in Italy. The Bolognese sauce they grew up on and the tradition of family is the cornerstone of the Piazza Sorrento dining experience. Dedicated to providing the finest in service, food, and wine at a fair and competitive price, Piazza Sorrento makes regional and classic Italian cuisine using premium local ingredients while keeping the history of the dish and region intact.

Piazza Sorrento not only provides the best in authentic Italian cooking this side of the Atlantic, but also believes that all patrons, whether adults or children, should be welcomed like one big family - even those with certain dietary requirements. That is why Piazza Sorrento is widely known for their extensive Gluten Free menu, another reason patrons routinely drive over an hour or more to dine in relative ease and safety.

Very nice atmosphere which is unexpected! Décor was sophisticated and modern and chic!! . Menu was great! Service was excellent! The salads were especially good, as were the brick oven pizzas! The sausage was less hot/true Italian, but the penne pasta was perfect! We would definitely return! Our young man server was very personable and knew the menu well!

My family (kids & grandkids) and I, ate at this restaurant last Dec and the service & food was much better last year. Even though we had a reservation we still had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated, which is hard to do in a crowded restaurant with a 20 month old. Two of the dishes ordered were good, however the other 2 were Not good, under cooked eggplant and the other was overloaded with garlic. One of the appetizers showed 6 pieces of bread but we were only brought 4 pieces, we had to to insist the menu indicated 6 pieces, eventually we were brought the additional pieces. Overall everything was ok, but it was much better last year, maybe they were having an off night.

We had made a reservation to allow us 1hr and 45 minutes to eat before going to a concert. We arrived on time and still waited 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated it was 40 minutes before we received our drinks and an additional 15 minutes before we received our salads. After sitting for an hour and still not receiving our entrees, we left so we wouldn't miss the concert. We were repeatedly told by employees that "we are short staffed."

Normally my wife and I go here for a complete dinner. However, this week we wanted to try their specialty pizza. What an absolute treat. We started with soup - pastafazool and minestrone. Both tasty, filled with great ingredients and perfect starters. Then came the pizza. My wife had the upside down pizza and I had a margarita. Perfect crust, thin and crisp, great sauce on the old world and a generous combination of Roma tomatoes and basil on the margarita. A totally delightful pizza night experience. The regular menu is excellent and the pizza menu is too. Well worth going there. The service is wonderful with caring and friendly servers.

Our family really enjoys coming to this restaurant. They do not compromise on quality, nearly all of the dishes are made from scratch right in their kitchen. The service is consistently outstanding. They also have one of the best gluten-free menus anywhere, a notable wine list and several popular beers available to select from. I grew up in an Italian family and coming to this restaurant reminds me of my whole family gathering around my great-grandmother's dining room table on a Sunday afternoon in the coal region for a full course Italian meal. When you come to this restaurant, from the minute you walk through the door to the minute that you leave, they make you feel like family.

Piazza Sorrento does not dissappoint. We visited specifically for the extensive gluten free menu which is always delicious from the appetizers to the dessert! Definitely caters to the special diet needs of those on a gluten free diet and are very knowledgeable. We dined with our children as well and they had a good menu to accomodate them as well. Fortunately this was not our first visit to this restaurant. We waited almost 20 minutes after our reservation time before taking a table in the bar. Then, the waiter was overwhelmed and we waited again for him to arrive. It took so long that we asked the hostess to find him for us. Other than that, it was great. The food is authentic Italian and delicious. While the wine list is not long, it offers a good variety of wines. If you plan to go on a busy night, make a reservation and hope for the best!

This is our 5th time at this establishment during the weekend of the PIAA XC state championships. We choose this restaurant due to its ambience and really good italian food. In the past we had great and accommodating service. This year, with a 7 pm reservation we waited until 7:45 and then self chose to split our party up and have half of them sit at the bar and then another group sit at a 2 seat bar table. While, once again, the food was great what is the purpose of getting reservations when coming from out of town to not have the reservation recognized which ultimately affected the quality of our experience with our party since we had to split them up.

The appetizer spinach arancini rice balls served with a rich, thick marinara sauce were divine and "Oh, so Italian." Even the recommended wines or the house wines were enjoyable and available by the glass, so it was easy to pair a wine with a particular dish. The risotto with flecks of fresh parsley was memorable served with broiled salmon and tomato butter. The tastes were distinctive but melted together in a fresh richness. Food presentation on the plate, excellent table service, and the quality of the freshly prepared food, authentically Italian, will keep us going back. The owners are delightful many times visiting diners at their tables, the staff well trained; this is a quality operation you shouldn't miss,

My wife and I live in Hershey now and decided to visit for our 7th anniversary dinner. Your place was very nice even though we did feel a tad out of place. Hershey is usually upscale and we are not. We weren't treated any differently but it did feel like your restaurant was out of our league. The food was excellent but we thought a little pricey. Again we understand upscale. While we enjoyed our visit, i'm not sure how many return visits we will make.

Piazza Sorrento is always delicious and by far the best gluten free restraint in the area. I took two friends from out of state here and they loved it. My only warning would be, even with reservations it will take some time to get seated because the food is sooo good and fresh you will wait a while to get it. Order an appetizer, eat the bread, have some wine. It's a great place.

This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites in the Hershey area and by far my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. The food is always wonderful - very fresh and fantastically seasoned. In the fall I adore the butternut squash ravioli but they were sold out of it so I had the lobster ravioli which was the best I have ever had! My boyfriend had the Italian Sampler - lasagna, fettuccini alfredo, and chicken parm - too much for any one person to eat but great leftover as well.

I picked this place at random, given the reviews on Open Table. It so close to Turkey Hill Minut Mart that I was a little worried. No need to be, this is great food fairly priced. I had the veal marsala/risotto and my companion had the clams/linguini. Both were excellent, and not over-priced. But the noise level on a Saturday night was pretty high. I felt like I was yelling, and several times the waiter had to repeat himself (Ryan). I'm glad they're busy but my heart rate dropped as I finally left the place at 9:22PM. I had 7:00 reservations and was seated just fine at 7:07; no complaints. I was surprised that it was a 2 hour meal. This is a family place for sure, and that's what makes it fun for many.

It is next to impossible to find a place to eat that offers Gluten Free menu items, but here you have your own menu. That's, right. And entire menu for the gluten free diner! And, the food is wonderful! They even have dessert, which is something people who live GF have to pass on. The other diners in my party did not have a food allergy and they also enjoyed dinner just as much as I did. The service here is a bit slower to give you time to linger over your meal, and because everything is prepared fresh. Well worth the wait. This place gets packed on the weekend, so make sure to make a reservation. I cannot say enough good about this place!

Not sure why, but there have been a lot of less-than-delighted wait staff at Piazza Sorrento for a few months. They're either dour and forgetful or in-your-face eye-rollers. I once waited tables and I understand it's not the world's most awesome job. But if you want a tip, step up your game. Cover up your tattoos (and your cleavage), stop scowling at me, remember what I ordered from the bar 20 minutes ago. C'mon, man! Looking for a romantic dinner? It's not here. The place is too noisy, too bright, not conducive to conversation unless you're sitting on the same side of a booth, which is awkward. Too much of the pizza parlor mindset & ambiance filter into the restaurant side. The location is great, I've found the food to be hit or miss.

We are so glad we opted to meet at Piazza Sorrento! Our experience is limited to the restaurant so we cannot comment on the bar or pizza area. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to go for our two year anniversary. We were looking for a fancier more romantic type setting. All we had to compare it to was Olive Garden. We got pasta dishes which come with a salad and breadsticks. Olive Garden by far won in this category. Olive Garden salad and breadsticks taste better and is endless. The meal however was fantastic but too expensive for the portion size. Alfredo had great flavor and steak tasted amazing and was made to order. For the pric I expected to have leftovers. This did not happen. The waiter did a wonderful job.I was expecting a nicer more elegant interior. The overall interior was a bit of a disappointment. Price salad and breadsticks has me at Olive Garden 90% time
