Went for Sunday brunch. Service was great. While the Bennett burger I had was expensive for brunch($15), it was so good I'd cave again next time we come back and order it. The burger, that was served with their own coleslaw that had a kick to it, was juicy and perfectedly cooked. I didn't even bother asking for ketchup or mustard. It was that good!

We might try again but it didn't live up to our hopes for a middle/upper class restaurant. Service was poor and dinner for us four took almost TWO hours. We had to flag down the server a number of times. Other tables were having the same problem. FOOD was a hit or a complete miss. Disappointing for Mercer Island.

Our family has been going to Bennets for years. It is our favorite restaurant. The food is very well done. It is fresh and prepared in fun, updated ways. While there is no kids menu, my kids beg to go to Bennets because they love the Flagship mac & cheese (and lets be honest, so do my husband and I!). The servers are friendly and knowledgable, and the atmosphere is also lively and fun without being too loud.

I ordered a $15.00 Cesar's salad that was billed as "signature" which usually means famous or good. When it came it had nice cheesy croutons but was the size of a small dinner salad on the same plate that it shared a side of mac and cheese.$$$? When I tasted it, it tasted like a bottled (not very flavorful) dressing so I asked the hostess if she could bring out some anchovies. She very curtly said "we don't have any" no explanation nothing....I think the salad was supposed to have capers or something in it (I neglected to read the description, BIG MISTAKE) but there were a few bits of green that might have been capers and they would have filled my baby pinkie finger nail they were so few. I used to come here a lot, not sure anymore...

We eat at Bennett's several times a year and it uniformly excellent. Because of Bennett's location on Mercer Island and the dispersion of our family, we find this a convenient spot for family get togethers. On the plus side is the restaurant's focus on healthier food items, reasonable pricing, free parking and easy access to I-90. 6 of us met there over Memorial Day weekend for Sunday Brunch. I had their take on Eggs Benedict (they call it Eggs Bennett) which included two poached eggs over a potato latke (pancake) with bacon and a delightful sauce. The ice tea is very flavorful. I used Stevia (their version of a no calorie, no carb sweetener.

I had never used Open Table to make a reservation but will now try to figure out which restaurants use it because it was so easy and I didn't have to remember to call when the restaurant was open. I met a few friends here that I wanted to introduce to each other so we ordered off the Happy Hour menu and regular menu, which the servers still allowed the HH menu a few minutes after 6 (some restaurants are very strict!), and we shared and enjoyed the evening. We've all been here before but we'll be back.

I tried to stay away from Bennett's in the past because the prices are rather high, but I found that I can't stay away from their roasted chicken that comes with their mac-n-cheese and some good veggies. The wait staff is a bit hit and miss, but the location for Mercer Islanders is great and the place opens up to greet the warm weather with a decent dining patio.

I have been to Bennett's many times and always enjoyed the staff but the bearded guy needs to find a new job. When our server was around he definitely didn't want to serve our table. In fact 1/2 way through the night he said he was leaving and gave us to a different server and I must say we were happy to see him go. He actually didn't go but stuck around for at least another hour taking care of other tables. I guess he prefers guest that dine and dash because we were there to enjoy the evening and it really seemed to annoy him which was very annoying to us. With the switch of the servers I must saw we finally got someone that understands the idea of enjoying your friends, food and wine.

I've been here 3-4 times for lunch and brunch. Their lunch is a great deal during Seattle Restaurant Week. Three full-sized courses for $15. Many restaurants cheap out during the promo weeks - small size, cheap prep and cheap ingredients. Beneett does its regular good food at promo price. Tomato soup is very good. BLT sandwich, BBQ sandwich and Mac & Cheese are all good. Bread pudding is good.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2004
    Dined on 3/25/2013
I selected this bistro as I thought it would be a warm and comfortable place for a ladies birthday luncheon. We were greeted by a Man that was not very welcoming nor recognize that I had mad a reservation as two of the three of us would be celebrating birthdays. I made a 11:45 a.m. reservation. Our table had a draft from a back door that was open. I mentioned this to our waitress, and she seemed bothered to listen to me, then half heartedly offered a different table. I felt badly mentioning this, and didn't want to ruin the birthday luncheon so offered to stay. It was so cold we decided we had to move. The food was really just... ok. No offer to bring the ladies something for their birthdays. Just a OK experience.

I like that you feature local foods etc. I would love to hear if some are organic. Also, I would love to have a glass on wine with my meal but most American wines have too many added sulphites. I know that the process creates sulphites and I can handle most foreign wines. If there was an organic American wine available, that would be great.
