A word from American Seasons
Nestled in the center of Nantucket’s historic downtown, American Seasons offers some of the island’s most creative food, along with a one-of-a-kind boutique wine list. Join us as we celebrate our 20th season. Located at the end of historic Centre Street in one of the island’s oldest restaurant sites, American Seasons is widely considered to be one of Nantucket’s premier dining destinations. The kitchen, helmed by Chef Michael LaScola, is renowned for its playful twists on American favorites. Chef LaScola’s emphasis on regional and seasonal produce is paired with Sommelier Orla Murphy LaScola’s equally creative wine list. Featuring over 500, American-produced wines, American Seasons’ award-winning, hard-to-get list is admired and emulated across the country.Cozy yet bustling, the candlelit dining room is adorned by Americana memorabilia, game board tables and harvest murals. During the summer, hand hammered copper tables provide al fresco dining on the restaurant’s covered patio.

THE most Romantic restaurant on the Island. It will be our first stop when we go back. Service was warm and professional. My husband had the Bartlett’s Farm Mixed Greens Salad and Salmon and I had the Warm Radicchio Salad with Apples and Tobacco Rubbed Breast of Duck-rare--perfectly cooked! A syrah's and chocolate gaunch cake and Cheesecake round out the meal. It was off season and we were not rushed. A wonderful dining experience.

In a word - outstanding. This was my second time here (visits to the island were 4 years apart) and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. The food is fantastic and the staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Everything is fresh and nicely prepared. I had a perfectly cooked piece of swordfish in a lovely smoky, ham broth. A very nice combo. The wine list is a bit pricier than it probably needs to be, but we still had two first courses, two entries and a Sauvignon Blanc for $160. Not bad for Nantucket.

My husband and I ate at American Seasons 5 years ago and remembered it as one of our favorite dinners of all time. This trip proved to be no different. The chefs have a magical talent for combining flavors and textures in a way that very few can attempt and yet they have mastered it.

Our first time here. We had read many mixed reviews concerning service, but we had a splendid experience on all points - food, preparation, presentation, service. An incredible wine list, but do some homework first or you can be lost in the magnificent collection of boutique vineyards and selections - which will always come with a price.

Atmosphere is terrific, very cozy and romantic. My meal was fine but nothing I would race back to have again. The salad I ordered was OK but had not been washed well enough to get out all of the grit. This was my second time at the restaurant and I think I'll try some other places first before I go back again.

The food was superb, akin to L'espalier in Boston just different (in a good way). Our server, Gail (sp?) was one of the best I have ever had. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable with the knack for knowing when to arrive and when not to. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will be back and recommend highly to my friends.

One of our favorite spots on Nantucket- bit off of crowded down town. Went for our anniversary (15 years) and didn't disappoint! Excellent service, great wines by the glass, savory specials, and my favorites--- fois gras and the scallops. My wife had the special salad with blue cheese and the house steak.

Overall a disappointing experience. Wine was sub par, but not corked, and we were told to "Let it Open up". Service was overly pretentious and food was average. Duck overcooked. Converstaion impossible because of the noise level. I visit Nantucket often and this was my fourth and final experiece at this generally well reviewed establishment.

We love Ameican Seasons and make sure we get there at least once a year when we are on Nantucket. The food is about the best around and that's saying something on an island full of restaurants! The menu is imaginative, fun and portions just the right size you don't feel stuffed after starters and entrees. Good cocktails too.

Terrible service ruined an otherwise good meal. There are many places you'd rather go on the island, don't go for this because it's one of the few available on Open Table. We never got bread, much less a second cocktail, the wine we asked for with dinner or anything other than aggravation. Sadly, the best part of the evening was the ice cream we grabbed on the way home.

American Seasons has a cozy, intimate setting, and the food is quite delicious. We also enjoyed some great wines. However, what could have been a really wonderful evening was dampened by the fact that our dining experience was quite rushed. Our appetizers arrived 2 minutes after ordering. We finished those, had a bottle of wine delivered, and our entrees arrived immediately. I felt like we were being rushed thru our meal, which was disappointing. Our server seemed a bit annoyed when we decided not to order dessert -- which all sounded yummy, but after feeling rushed thru everything else, we decided to get an ice cream in town. If you're looking for a delicious meal, this is a great place, but don't expect to have any time to savor it

AS has very fresh food presented in a spectacular manner. The scallop appetizer was fantastic but the fluke was a little bland (we both had it). Our main server (as opposed to the bread and beverage person) seemed a little miffed that we did not order wine or dessert. That was what really left a bad taste in our mouth!
