The service was OK but the food was not that good. I ordered one of the most expensive dishes on the menu which was a combination of chicken, scallops, shrimp and minced clams over pasta and it was mediocre at best. The shrimp were small, the chicken was bland, the clams not even visible and the scallops were tiny bay scallops. My wife had a veal dish over pasta and the veal looked like white chicken meat. Very bland and of no color. I will not return to Il Porto.

  • Mediocre and Disappointing
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

Mediocre and Disappointing. We've been coming to Il Porto off and on for 15 years. It's not as I remember it. The menu was very weak. Nothing special about it and basic recipes you'd find anywhere. Not a single fish entree that didn't include shrimp, calamari or clams. Not your most daring menu. My wife's Frutti di Mare was served without pasta and my Veal Romana was serevd with no sides and bacially had deli ham on it. Overall it was not bad food just disappointing way to spend our 15th Anniversary. The clientele was dressed very casual (lots of shorts and tee shirts) and I didn't see an Italian in the place (chef/owner/maître di) so maybe that explains the drop-off. I would not recommend this unless Old Town is booked up solid

Il Porto is an institution. I've been going for the past 2o years and the food, service and ambiance are quality. I love the quaint atmosphere and the taste is always a hit. Thanks for a great time on our anniversary weekend. Looking forward to our next visit.

Food & Service were fine, table was waiting for us on arrival. Good selection. Busy restaurant. Tables (at least in our section) were positioned too closely, causing dinners at some tables to stand in order to let other dinners in or out. A minor distraction, but otherwise enjoyable evening.

Food was not good at all for the price. Salad seemed like it was dumped out of a bag and alfredo was runny and not good. Go down the block to landini brothers.

The food as always was very good. The service was not up to the standards - think the waitress was new and she had trouble opening the wine. We were a group of six, not in a hurry but ir seemed there was a rush to move tables and not encourage dining. We have been to the restaurant many times before and have had wonderful service, i am hoping with more experince the waitress will improve her skills. She was friendly and efficient but seemed nervous and unsure --
