A word from Vin Antico
Vin Antico - Where Passion Meets The Plate, serves contemporary, local, Farm to Table fare. Chef De Leon translates his vast experience to create sophisticated, yet comforting food, utilizing local growers and producers, highlighting the seasons finest.

With Old World context in mind, we have cultivated Vin Antico"s wine list to artfully complement our farm to table inspired cuisine. Great attention is paid to sourcing small, artisan producer wines from site specific vineyards or merit throughout the West Coast and Europe.

We've eaten here many times and the food is usually very good, but I recently had the rabbit and it tasted a bit off. My mistake, I should have sent it back to the kitchen because I was not well the next day. Follow your instincts and if it tastes off, it is! However, the kitchen should serve only the freshest food and it was a real disappointment.

I'd heard a lot about this place from friends and was excited to try it out. It didn't blow my socks off. It was good... but pretty expensive for what we had. The service was very attentive and very informative. The ambiance was also very nice. However, I can cook high quality organic, locally sourced food at home, so that simply isn't enough. So when I go out to eat, especially at $18 a plate for pasta and $30 or more for fish or meat, I want it to be outstanding.

This is a small place, but too personable to be called intimate. It's goal is hopefully to serve creative, tasty dishes for if so the chef has succeeded. Do not go if you want to eat something you have enjoyed before elsewhere; do go if you have adventurous tastes. You may not like all the combinations on the ever changing menu, but you will find something worthy of your taste buds. I have on all three occasions over the past year.

Service was casual and friendly but very attentive. Food was the star--from the flatbread and carpaccio starters to the duck ravioli main. Even their side dish of mixed vegetables was imaginative and perfectly cooked. Food portions varied from dish to dish (their cobbler was huge, but their flourless chocolate cake tiny), so ask.

The menu is provocative, but a few selections failed to fufill. Nonetheless, overall the food was tasty. Staff was excellent, very accommodating and knowledgeable. The liberty duck, stuffed with pork dressing, was mostly stuffing, little meat. The steak tartare was high quality beef, but needed more punch. Other dishese were fine. The restaurant is just six months into new management, so we will return and give it another chance.

Love It! I hadn't been to Vin Antico for over a year, and wanted to go back after having a great experience before. We went from oysters to salad to entree to dessert, all was made to perfection, every flavor was fresh crisp alive. The wine I drank, the Ruche, was amazing, I will try to locate it for my collection. The service was perfect, such a rare thing these days, friendly, helpful and completely non-intrusive. One of my favorite dining experiences of the past few years!

    H8thevolume
    Dined on 2/24/2012
2nd time at Vin antico. Still like the place but did not enjoy as much as the first time. The main reason being that most courses suffer from an overabundance of ingriedents. From appitizers to small plates to large plates, there are just too many ingreients.I know they specialize in local, fresh fare, but the chef marries too many ingreients. Most dishes just didn't quite work. Some bites brought the creation together and then the next bite would be unpleasant. Plus what's with pomegranate seeds in so many dishes? I almost cracked a tooth on the seeds in the crab salad which had way too many pom seeds. Service was good and I will come back and look for simpler fare on the menu next time.

We met another couple at Vin Antico for dinner. We have been before, and always enjoyed the food. The menu is local, fresh and very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals, it seemed that the highlight was the 1/2 Rabbit. The only disappointment was the service. After the main course, we started ordered port and desert. We just started with desert when another waitress (not ours) slapped a bill in the middle of the table (essentially in the middle of our conversation). No asking if we needed anything else, no checking if desert was good, or if we needed coffee. Just the bill - boom. We felt compelled to pay the check before we were even done. Seems strange for a restaurant with this price point to treat customers that way.
