Great food and atmosphere, server was friendly but much of the staff service needed some polishing. The host gave a prime table to a walk-in couple without reservations while we and others with reservations were waiting...then lied about it when we said something. Maybe the guy slipped him some money? Not sure I'd go back.

As my wife and I walked into "Prime" we were extremely impressed with the decor, it truely was very well laid out and decorated with a homelike atmosphere. Then we were sat at a table that wasn't large enough for one person let alone two.. just the beginning.. as we sat at our table, with one other couple in the restaurant, several of the wait staff was being given instruction on how to serve at the table directly next to ours, loud and noisy.. I would think that the staff would be trained outside of dinner hours.. then the staff proceeded to look through the wat station for what I have no idea, but it continued. When the food came out the Ceasar salad was the worst I ever had.. ordered a Porterhouse Steak medium rare, it was so uneatable

We made a reservation for 8:00 pm but had a table very close to the bar. It was extremely noisy and very difficult to hear each other talk. It became quieter as the night progressed. Our waiter recommended the sea bass. It was a lovely piece of fish but the preparation was tasteless. Very disappointing. I spoke with the waiter but he seemed to care less. I did enjoy the fried artichocks that came with the sea bass. My husband had the filet mignon and ordered it medium rare but it was served medium well in my opinion. The filet was ala cart and served on a very large plate, which looked funny. Overall I though the service was pretty good but my water glass did sit empty for a while. I will give Prime another chance on a week night.

  • They need to work on the greeting

They need to work on the greeting at the door - on a Tuesday night, only 10 tables sat, they initially wouldn't let a couple sit at a 4 top. Portions were VERY small, save the steak and fish, which is good, I guess. Server didn't know much about wine. For the money, I'd go back to Cut 432.

  • We went there for New Year's
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

We went there for New Year's Eve celebration. It was prix fix menu $125 per person. I understand that any restaurant wants to make money on this night, nothing wrong with that, but for $125 I expect good food at least. I was loking forward to it. Well it wasn't good, my lamb chops were covered with lard, any respected chef would trim it before cooking it and serving it like that, french fries smelled like chemicals, desert was the worst, it looked like a piece of bread covered in chocolat. Buttom line, if that's what they serve on night like that, I wouldn't come back there for any other night. Don't be fooled by their name, nothing "prime" in that place.

We were a couple of 4, there to celebrate New Year's and had a very nice time. The wine list was good and we had a very relaxing, enjoyable evening. Service was attentive. Get the truffle mac and cheese. It is unreal.

A strange restaurant. Upon arrival,we overheard the Maitre'd instruct his staff to seat us outside since our reservation was made on Open Table, giving us the distinct impression open table bookings would be treated less equally. Due to the cool weather, we requested to dine indoors and grudgingly they complied. The waiters were polite but all appear to be a throw back to the days of the "Good Fellas", including the bouncer and the blonde hostess. Food was okay and expensive, nothing extraordinary. However the renovation was nicely done and since Prime opened in early December, one must give them a chance to improve.

Service was very slow. Given our drinks waited 20 minutes for bread. Had to ask twice before we got it. Food good, but again waited a long time until it came. Even the salad took a long time.

Atmosphere was fantastic, service was wonderful, food was amazing! Definitely the right choice for any special occasion dinner! Avoid being sat at the "Chef's Table" as this only looks in on a refrigerator with a bright florescent light on top with some slabs of meat and a meat slicer. The entire experience was delightful and we will surely return for our next special occasion!

  • I understand that a new restaurant

I understand that a new restaurant has growing pains, but when you wait an hour and forty minutes for you food and then the steaks are over cooked I would at least appreciate an "I'm sorry". The waitress was very nice and she brought a manager over who may as well have stuck his finger in the steak his face was so close to it. And then he didn't apologize he tried telling us that we hadn't waited that long for it because we had been at the bar-we had actually been sitting at our table since 8:00 and the food finally arrived at 9:55. The food was so-so. The steak was overdone, the sushi was mediocre. The scallops were good. Hopefully they will improve with time, but I will not be returning anytime soon.

Just opened so don't expect a smooth operation by any means. That is not so bad BUT a steak restaurant that cannot cook a steak as ordered is a problem several tables experienced this problem during the evening. Food took forever to arrive then undercooked. Might try again in a few months but avoid it for now!!!!

This is a new restaurant to Delray Beach so we decided to try it. The restaurant was not full, but 10 minutes passed before we had to flag down someone to place a drink order. It then took another 10 minutes or so before we were able to get menus. This was a problem the entire evening with service. The food was good, but not outstanding. It is a shame because the restaurant is in a great location on Atlantic Avenue and the decor is great.
