Both cocktails (one quasi-Negroni and one gin with basil) were tasty, and the wine (friulian?) was nice. The balsamic lamb ribs appetizer was very tender and tasty, but a bit too sweet. The fried oysters with lemon crema were very nicely done. The prawn and pea ravioli were delicious, and the lamb chop was perfectly cooked and enjoyable. Gelati (white chocolate and mango) and chocolate cake were quite good. My one complaint is that we ordered fusilli with butter and cheese for our kids, and they charged us $20 (the price of a fusilli with pork ragu on the menu) for each order.Special Features:

The travesty of the whole experience was the spagetti with tomato sauce (pomodoro ). I mean the sauce was so spiced up (hot pepper and garlic) they were trying to mask the EXTREME acidity in the tomato sauce. The chef should teach his staff a proper way to prepare sauce. For a plump "fresh" style sauce you need to fry/saute the sauce on very high heat for at least 5 to 10 min so you boil off the acid in the sauce (needs to be done especially when canned tomatoes are used, which these were). Now the other way for a more rich savory sauce you need to simmer the sauce for at least an hour or maybe two but no longer.

Serious in the sense that it knows who and what it wants to be and strives for those goals. Met at the door by cheerful people. Our waitress guided us through the menu and how to order. Spossa is noted for their stracciatella (type of softer, wet and stretched mozzarella)served with toasted bread. There is good reason this is the signature dish. Mussels were plump with aromatic broth. We split a pasta with lamb sausage and the roasted cod with pureed bacala and greens and a side of squash. All tasty Next time we will order one appetizer, forget the side, add a desert. Wine list is very good, small with prices for everyone.This was a fine first time.

Gnocchi were heavy (tasted almost frozen) and were not light as they were described to be. Fried oysters were good.There was nothing great about anything we ate and therefore no reason to go back.Bar needs to be higher in order to compete in the WV!
- Poor serviceGregVIPDined on 6/11/2011when i arrived there was noone to help me at the hostess podium. i sttod there. i finally sat at the bar and then one of their employees had a conversation with a friend and rude patron screaming over my head. i expected more from an employee. when i approached the manager (so called) jennifer, she said it was his day off and he is entitled like any other guest to be there. however i did see him working by showing someone their seat; not me ofcourse. this is what happens when you have an absentee owner. i am a business consulatant and guarantee they wont be around with this kind of work ethic. i certainly wont be going back. oh and by the way. i ordered one drink then left.
