We had a reservation for 12 at 8.30pm. Our drink order was not taken until about 9pm and food order at about 9.30pm...than a took a whole other chunk of time to receive the food. Our server was friendly but seemingly overwhelmed with the crowd at the restaurant. I understand that downtown was busy due to the parade but feel that it is no excuse for such slow service.

We had reservations for 6pm the night of the Parade of Lights. We were seated promptly even through it was crowded. It was quite noisy and would have not been a good place for childern. The lights were quite dim and it was difficult to see the menu items. Since this was our first time there this was important to us. The food was good but not exceptional, however it did fit our needs for what we were looking for that evening.

This was a very cool place... located on 16th street mall, It's a great bar scene, with really good authentic Irish food. The place is huge, they have 5 bars, but also great table seating. The dark wood is reminiscent of an old pub, but MUCH larger, and with a great feel. I'd say give it a try.

  • Adequate facsimile of "real Irish".
    OpenTable Diner Since 2014
    Dined on 11/14/2012
Food was not up to the standard advertised, as being "authentically Irish." There are other Irish venues in Denver that do a better job; however, it was a reasonable facsimile. The salad was very fresh. Guinness is--well--Guinness, no matter where you go. The beef sirloin boxty was average and uninspired. Crowded and noisy, if that's what you like. I did, and the ambience was a plus in my book.

Party of 9. I had Shepherd's Pie and it was awesome. The lamb skewers were a hit and the Boxty's so-so. Great desserts. The waiter never asked us how things were and we had to ask for him to order dessert. He was lucky the tip was on the bill.

The food is really the shining factor here. Ordered the seafood chowder, and the soup had nice, large chunks of fish. The desserts are also delicious- we tried the bread pudding and the flourless chocolate torte and both were amazing. My friend was practically inhaling the bread pudding. The food is reasonably priced, parking can be a bit hard to find.

Dissapointing, really awfull service on this occasion through previous visits have been much better in this regard. The bar was not very busy yet the waitress paid us no attention, forgot drink orders, was not attentive enough to notice when drinks were finnished and more might be needed and food took ages to arrive. Food was OK nothing special and a little meager in portion size, appart from Irish Breakfast which looked great.

Typical sports bar with a theme. The "chips" were hot and crispy which gets a high grade in my book but could have been better if they were hand cut. It was very loud but then again, it is a sports bar and the MLB playoffs were on TV. The waitress was excellent and went out of her way to accommodate our requests.

Went to Katie mullens with my girlfriend on a Saturday night and the ambiance was in between a fancy restaurant and a sports bar - very dim lit ( had to squint to read the menu) and a ton of TVs . The service was great, but paid $17 for shrimp and Bacon Mac and cheese that should have been on the appetizer menu and about 10 dollars cheaper cause it didn't have much shrimp, bacon or cheese on it . My girlfriend had a chicken sandwich that was pretty bland also, I will say the Guinness onion soup was awesome, but for two people you could spend $60 on dinner and drinks and get better elsewhere.

We decided to try Katie Mullen's so that we could try some Irish dishes which can't normally be found this side of the Atlantic. I had the Chicken Boxty, some Irish Cider and a Guinness. I drink Guinness at home but the Guinness on tap here seemed to have more flavor somehow. The service was great. Highly recommended.

Ordered the chicken & bacon potato burrito (can't remember what it was called). It was about a big around as a half dollar and there was very little filling for the price. Took a friend to lunch for her birthday and was embarrassed how pitiful the food was. Don't think I'll be back. The server was super.

Arrived for reservation and was immediately greeted and sat by a pleasant hostess. That is where the good part of the review ends. We waited almost 10 minutes to even have the chance to order drinks, while servers and managers continuously walked passed the table. After ordering, the drinks came, and we had to ask a second time for sweetener. The onion soup was not hot, my entree came out lukewarm (albeit tasty, and I was never offered the chance to order a second drink. The restaurant/bar was in no way busy enough to expect this kind of service. Extremely disappointing.

The ambiance was comfortable and relaxed, the service was excellent, the food was very good and the beer was cold. The traditional Irish fare was well prepared and the curry was good a spicy. We went back for a nightcap the next night after our dinner. Definitely a place I'll go next time I'm in Denver.

Made a reservation via Open Table, arrived early, and they seated us right away with our choice of indoors (near the live music), outdoors (under the tent), or outdoors under the stars. We went under the stars where it was quieter. Delicious burgers and sweet potato fries but they were out of the marbled rye for Reubens and Rachels. Waitress was a sweetheart, funny and charming and attentive. Had a beautiful view of 16th Street although that left us vulnerable to various good-natured street people hoping for a dollar or a smoke. The live music indoors was fantastic (apparently a band from Ireland that comes every year for St. Pats); people were dancing and festivity was in the air. Perfect for an Irish celebration!
