This was our second visit to Meritage, and it definitely won't be our last. The servers were friendly and knowledgable. The scallop appetizer was scrumptious! We split a salad and the salmon; the kitchen prepared them on separate plates for us. The noise level was a little high, but the decor is beautiful. It looks nothing like the former Gaslight. The bar area is also very inviting.

Great food and even better service! The bar was crowded and very lively however the noise carried into the dining room which made it difficult to hear. Maybe it was the time we got there(7:15pm) but they had the lights very bright. Kind of reminded us of a cafeteria. Someone finally dimmed them as we were leaving. Overall it was very nice and we will come back (with ear plugs! LOL).

Meritage is a very tastefully decorated, trendy, bistro-like restaurant with separate bar area. Menu is nice blend of casual and upscale basics with a few flares. Our dinner choices and wine were expertly prepared, served and full of flavor. Our server was sensational - attentive, helpful and friendly and an already good evening that much nicer. Will definitely return.

Food was delicious. It appears as though everything is prepared from scratch--even the salad dressings. We had four different meals and all were excellent. The entire experience was delightful. The renovation of the old neighborhood place is remarkable. Very classy.

We found the food to be bland, my potato salad was tasteless needed seasonings. the sandwich, brie with tomatoes on sour dough was good, still seasoning was missing. the prices are just a little much for what they are offering, but within reason. wouldn't mind paying the price is if would have really enjoyed the food.

I thought the food was good, but somewhat pricey considering the overal feel/ambiance of the restaurant. Wines were definitely too high priced. Need more moderately priced wines for this type of restaurant. People in this area want a neighborhood restaurant that has good food, not expensive and a casual place to hang out with friends. I saw alot of people from my community there who would definitely support a restaurant with more casual food, etc. The dining area was nice, but then again food/ambiance did not match.

This restaurant is only been open for six weeks and does it have its act together. Service, food, and hospitality are over the top. There is no question in my mind that this restaurant is here to stay. I live in the Western Hills and it was well worth the trip to Glendale to eat here.

I was very surprised at how well the restaurant was executing service and the food. From what I had heard, they had only been open about a month and everything seemed as though they had been opened for years! We started off our meal with the bruschetta which was a fantastic app for our group. We then had the meritage salad as well as the wedge salad and both were presented beautifully and tasted great! Our entrees were some of the best I have had, the thai glazed salmon was sweet and spicy and complimented the salmon well without overpowering it, while my husband's new york strip was cooked to perfection! The service was great, friendly, knowledgeable, without being overbearing. Always a clean table, & loved sitting on the patio, so quaint!

The "Spotted-Tail" fish special was the BEST seafood that I have had in Cincinnati in several months! Thick, moist, and tender, servered with an herbed butter sauce, with small diced tomatoes, on a bed of perfectly seasoned rice and roasted asparagus. The special salad-of-the-day was was thickly sliced "home-grown" tomatoes with Maytag blue cheese and a balsimic reduction dressing, a perfect summer treat. The raspberry chessecake with an Oreo crust was creamy and tart, a wonderful ending to a very enjoyable evening out! I look forward to a return visit.

The food and service was fantastic. The decor was a little sterile to what I had been accostomed to when it was the Gaslight House. The service was excellent with our server Andrea being very attentive to our needs. The seating seems tight if you are in the middle of the house. We were fortunate to be in a booth which kept us away from the crowd/

We enjoy having dinner in the bar so we can listen to the live music. They have different musicians Wed - Saturday starting around 7 p.m. We have not had anything off the menu we didn't like. They have a very talented chef. The specials are always good too. Last week the special was Prime Rib and the dessert special was funnel cake with chocolate and raspberry drizzle. So good! The wait staff are very friendly and take care of any special requests without hesitation. We visit here weekly and sometimes two or three times a week.

This was a second visit, a first for lunch. I was a bit surprised that the menu was exactly the same as the dinner menu. A board out front advertised lunch specials but there was no mention of them. Although it wasn't very crowded, it was noisy. We had the grilled brie and while it was tasty it was not completely heated through. There was a mix up with the sides which was dealt with quickly. The creme brule was very good, creamy with a thick crust of carmelized sugar. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'll try it again but wait a bit for them to shake out the kinks.

The attention to detail in the renovation of the old "Glendale Gaslight Cafe" is evident in every aspect of the wonderful new MERITAGE! The repositioning of the entrance and bar area is inspired, the decor is warm and welcoming (could use a bit more art on the walls), and the menu and wine list are superb! BRAVO! We went to MERITAGE to celebrate our anniversary, just a few weeks after it opened. Started with the cream-cheese and bacon stuffed mushrooms ("the BEST appetizer EVER" my husband said), and ordered small salads, NY Strip, and Pork Chop for dinner, with chocolate mousse cake for dessert. All were excellent! We WILL be back soon, and we will be bringing folks with us to share this new "neighborhood gem."

I recently ate at Meritage restaurant in Glendale and I must say that it was a great experience! The menu was full of different things but I had the mussels for an appetizer and the Thai glazed salmon for my entree and it had to be the best salmon I have had. Although the dining room was a little on the loud side, the staff addressed the issue and said they were installing some things to help dampen the noise. Along with the food, the wine list had a lot of variety and there were the usual comfort ones I had seen before, but also some unfamiliar ones that aren't as readily available. The entire dining experience felt very exclusive yet intimate, and am glad to see a new restaurant that has so much potential! Definitely recommend!

Meritage has been open just one week and they really have done a great job. The service was friendly and efficient. The servers were well trained and I was amazed at how smooth everything operated since it is so new. We entered and were warmly greeted and seated immediately at a booth. It is noisy but they said they have ordered things to soften the noise level. I had a chicken wrap which was very tasty. The asparagus was too crispy for my taste but next time I will ask them to cook it more. My husband had the grouper over rice and thought it was nicely prepared also. As we left several employees said goodbye and hoped we would return. We will.
