2 things here that you HAVE to get: The beef tartare and the Ode to a Ho Ho. I could have eaten just those two things and walked away entirely satisfied. The artichoke appetizer was a disappointment, the chicken was so-so, but the pork dish, which I took a bite of from a friend, was unbelievable. The service is fantastic.

Went with a group of 8. We all loved it. Absolutely nothing negative, it was a perfect evening. Beautiful room, great service, lovely food. And we could talk without shouting, even though there were two other large groups there at the same time.

Fate did an excellent job as our waiter. The historic hotel is truly beautiful and the dining area was no exception. There is a very energetic bar downstairs which you would never had known was there while dining in the very elegant dining room. Would recommend as a romantic spot, not really for kids.

This was the first time I had ever been to this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere was delightful, so beautifully decorated and quite inviting. The food was fabulous! Everyone in our party got something different so that we might "try" a bit of everything! It was all wonderful. The service was excellent and our waiter was attentive and knew exactly when to come to our table and when not to! Twenty Milk Street was most certainly a delightful place to spend a lovely evening with friends, in a beautifully appointed restaurant, enjoying a memorable meal.

The restaurant is small and intimate, yet handled a party of twenty with no disruption to the other diners - my party included. The food was a nice offering of local seafoods and seasonal produce and even their own beef raised locally. Everything was cooked perfectly and just delicious. Not a single complaint with the four different dishes we ordered. The service was attentive without being intrusive. For dessert, save room for their version of a pumped up Hoho. Prices are reasonable and a parking garage was just a short walk. Well worth the trip.

We had a lovely evening at Twenty Milk Street. The service was impeccable and the decor was delightful. My husband enjoyed his salmon very much. The portion was generous and the flavor was perfect. However, I ordered the lobster linguine- two of my favorite foods in one dish! Although the lobster and vegetables were delicious, I was very disappointed in the linguine. Supposedly, it is made on the premises, but arrived as a few clumps which were hard to identify and impossible to eat. Although we will probably return for the atmosphere, I would not order that dish again.

The comfortable and relaxed atmosphere was perfect for a business luncheon. The service allowed us to enjoy our very good food while continuing our discussions. The lobster sandwich has lots of lobster and was delicious, as was the sesame tuna salad. The flourless chocolate cake with homemade ice cream was out of this world.

Anniversary dinner celebration was perfect. Classy room with perfect lighting for a romantic dinner. I had the filet and my wife had chicken which our server said both were from local farm in Cumberland - they were both wonderful and they were cooked just right with nice sides. Wine by the glass had some nice selections at reasonable prices. The hostess and our server were both very knowledgeable and engaging. Couldn't have been nicer.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 2/1/2012
One of the finest restaurants we have ever been to. The service was superb - professional but friendly. I had scallops over shrimp risotto. It was absolutely perfect. The scallops were tender with a citrus flavor. The Maine shrimp in the risotto were cooked just right. My wife had the filet mignon and said it was the best steak she had ever had. I'm not a steak fan but one taste was enough. The steak, which comes from their own farm just tastes the way steak should. Desserts were fabulous. I had the Marjaline, a chocolate concoction that was a melange of chocolate flavors, from mousse to a thin dark chocolate crust. Before I forget, the appetizer called "three purses" is amazing - brie in a fine phyllo dough. Wow! The ambiance was perfect

My steak was overcooked and though I appreciate the discount I was given, most restaurants would have removed the full price of my meal since I was not waiting for a new steak to be cooked. Had a reservation for our anniversary dinner, but no on told me the dining would be outside. Setting would be okay on a nice day, but it was damp, misty and sightly cold. Seat cushion was damp feeling. Servers had to walk far to get food and brought it across the street to everyone UNCOVERED. Service was the only good aspect of this restaurant, so it helped eased the pain of eating there - though they needed more staff since the distance to get everything was far and took to long.

When booking, we expected something else (nice dining room, white table cloth etc.). Apparently due to season or few customers, the main restaurant was closed and food was served either in the bar at the lower level or outside, in front of the hotel. We chose dining outside, although temperature-wise it was slightly too cold and it started raining later on. Food was good, particularly starters were excellent (jumbo shrimp cocktail and fried calamari), but ambience was less formal than what we had looked for.

We came to 20 Milk Street for a girls night out. My daughter was here from North Carolina so we wanted to go someplace special. There were 4 of us for dinner and we were seated in the Garden Cafe, as we requested, attending were myself, my 2 daughters and my sister. The food was wonderful, service was great, waitstaff friendly and fun but not intrusive. We had a wonderful evening. The outdoor Garden Cafe was fantastic and when the sun went down and we got a little chilly they brought us each a small fleece blanket to wrap our selves in! Excellent dining experience, wonderful atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff, over all great evening, Thanks 20 Milk Street!
