The setting was very authentic; the service impeccable. There were many menu choices and what we chose was delicious. We enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine that was very reasonable. The whole experience was like sitting in a restaurant in Lisbon.

Atasca never disappoints. The service is remarkably attentive and friendly, always! We tend to order an array of their delicioius appetizers as they are too good to pass up. The wine list has great choices, even for bottles in the lower price range. We assume the management must be excellent as each time we have gone to Atasca we are struck by the warm, non pressuring, upbeat atmosphere of the staff. A definite find!

Everything we ate was delicious (octopus salad, fish stew, and passion fruit mousse). The bread was somewhat mundane (could use a healthier type). Sangria hit the spot as well as the cappuccino. Will definitely be back again.

Atasca is a very good restaurant that has ample space and in which one does not feel over crowded. The food preparation is excellent and one is rewarded with a great tasting meal. Their potatoes are well-known to be wonderful: ask that they be cooked to a color where they are dark tan. We were offered a swordfish with the bone remaining attached: this we had never seen before and wondered whether it would be good. In fact, the swordfish that came was one of the thickest pieces we had ever seen and was the most mist swordfish we have had in over 20 years. Further, there was no bloodline, which is rather unusual, but much appreciated. The other dishes were fantastic as well but we will always remember the swordfish as the best eve

I have been here a few times. The food is always good with a nice variety on the menu. I like it because you can get a very good meal at reasonable prices. We went on Saturday night at 7 and there were some large groups which impacted the noise and service a bit, but well within reason. I had the cataplana which was excellent. My didnig mate had the Pork chop which she raved about. Had a couple of apps also. Very good meal.

I took my girlfriend to Atasca for Valentine's Day, and ended up being underwhelmed by the food. The service was very good, and the host even made a point to come around to the table to check in after she had seated us. The couple sitting next to us had a problem with one of their dishes, and the chef came out to hear what they had to say, and apologized to them for the inconvenience. These are the small things that matter, and they do them well. However, the food ended up being quite uninteresting, and the main prevailing flavor of the dishes turned was that of salt. I wasn't crazy about the food presentation or the spicing, and though the service was good, I was not into Atasca, because I felt as if the food was quite lacking.

We especially enjoyed the seafood stew and the cataplana -- both with a delicious melange of shellfish and garlicky concentrated broth full of intense flavors (be sure to save the bread for dipping). The service was exceptional, with our waiter carefully pacing our appetizers and main courses for full enjoyment. The T-bone steak was enormous, for the carnivores. Wasn't so overcrowded as some for a Saturday night, for which we are grateful. A good option when going to the nearby Kendall Landmark Cinema for dinner and a show.

Atasca is a small, intimate dining experience with authentic Portuguese cuisine. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. You must try the Sangria, aka "happy juice!" You will not be disappointed. I highly suggest a reservaton as this place gets packed by 8pm on a weekend night.

This is Portugese food like you get in Portugal. Grilled bacalao, grilled shrimp, grilled sardines, sautéed calamarao with garlic -- all of it perfectly prepared and deliciously garnished. Never have room for dessert, so can't comment on that part of the menu. Very reasonably priced wines. A lovely place.

Warm and informal atmosphere, nothing fancy but very comfortable, friendly waiter and owner. Menu looked great, but the dishes themselves were a real disappointment. The crab cakes in my wife's appetizer were overcooked. Same story with the sausage in my appetizer (grilled linguida served with pineapple, a traditional Azores combination). We sipped some nice wine while waiting for the main course, Portuguese style Paelha, a rice stew that serves two and contains shrimp, mussels, clams, squid, pork, linguica and chicken. It was almost tasteless. Bottom line- nice folks, nice menu, food preparation needs help. It's too bad...

My wife and I have had the great pleasure of dining at Atasca many, many times over the years. We have dined there with friends and family and with our two young children. We have never had anything less than an enjoyable dining experience. This is a warm, inviting restaurant with friendly, attentive service. The owners are often there to welcome you and to make sure everything is going well. The best thing is the food. This is by far the best Portuguese food being served in greater Boston. It is always fresh and delicious. We love this place,it is our favorite restaurant. Go,you will not be disapointed.

This was my second time at Atasca. Food was as good as i remembered, and the service is excellent. I believe its the owner, who greeted us and came by to check how everything was. The authenticity of the food and personality of the retaurant makes you feel like you could be in Lisbon. It helps that our waitress was (brazilian) portugese, so she could help us with pronunciations of the menu;o)

Our first time at Atasca and overall it was very good. The grilled squid appitizer in a lemon garlic sauce was amazing! I ordered the pork medallions in a cilantro sauce and the sauce and spice rub on the pork was delicious even though I felt the pork was a bit overcooked and tough. Still enjoyed the dish. The rice pudding was too sweet and not as warm compared to other Portugese rice puddings I have tried before. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and attentive.

This time we had a group of five and every one of us loved their food, including two who had nver tried Portuguese before. Fabulous authentic Portuguese cuisine. Love their Sangria. Favorite apps are presunto de casa (presunto with tomatoes and fresh cheese), pasteis atasca (Shrimp, cod and veal fritters served over black eyed peas) and amejoas (little necks). Can't go wrong with any entree. For lunch the prego (bife sandwich) served with house salad and "portuguese" fries rock!

Very convenient to the movie theater. The service was very warm and friendly without being familiar, making for a very pleasant evening. The appetizers we sampled, the beans and tripe and the sauteed squid were better than our main course dishes, grilled salt cod and the shellfish dish cataplana. The latter were good but not somehow full-flavored enough. One note to the restaurant is that the bread served is dreadful, flavorless and cottony. It's awful and detracts greatly from the food in general.

On the positive side: Atasca is a very nice restaurant. The staff are so welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. We are looking forward to warmer weather, so we can dine on the patio outside. On the (slightly) negative side, the food was good, but not incredible. I had the salt cod "drizzled" with olive oil. It arrived drowning in oil (which didn't really taste like olive oil). If the chef could have used a lighter hand with the oil on this dish, it would have been great.
