A word from Café Boulud
CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines.

In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 18 guest each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40.

The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onwards.

The service was outstanding. We were dressed casually but were never treated with condescension. My friend and I felt very comfortable because everything was taken care of. Also, kudos to the coat check. The food was very nice, perfectly portioned. Both my friend and I thought our (seafood) dishes were a bit too salty. The wine match was superb. I would definitely come back.

It's always wonderful. "Elegant"--in the service, food, setting, crowd--is the term that comes to mind. Don't know about dinner--haven't done that there in quite a while--but lunch is one of the great New York experiences, particularly after a visit to a nearby museum.

Hey, it's Fine Dining. French with International Selections. Now, with most restaurants, I'd be skeptical of the "bit of this, bit of that" philosophy. Gordon Ramsey would have a cow. But these guys pull it off, and they do it with style. Great wines, great food, great service. A fantastic restaurant. You pay for it, but if you're the sort who pays for it, it's well worth the money. Particularly good advice on the wines for a table with a broad variety of different items.

Best lunch we have had, in any city, in years. The crab appetizer and the warm madelaine cookies were outstanding among the many terrific dishes. Service was flawless. Enjoyed a perfect split of wine. Were seated, after asking to be changed from our original table, to a booth in the corner; quieter than other options, great view of the restaurant and very comfortable.

This is the third time we visited Cafe Boulud. We had guests from out of town and we were looking forward to a good culinary experience. To much of our chagrin, the service was mediocre (I had to remind the staff to fill my glass of water)and in general the waitress and the staff were not attentive to the table needs. As for the culinary experience itself, the lamb course was quite disappointing (the duck was nice). Overall, we spent $440.00 for a culinary experience that did not live up to expectations. We are not going back any time soon.

We went during Restaurant Week and had a sneaking suspicion that it might be watered down for R.W. Lo and behold, it was terrific! The appetisers were small tasty architectural wonders! The soup was delicious, a beautiful pea green, as it was made of pea sprouts with just gentle spices. I have forgotten the main course, as it was a long time ago. But I haven't forgotten the wonderful attention to each and every person, each and every dish served and top class service for everyone. Wonderful food and wonderful service!
