We were thrilled to go back to Talleys for Mother's Day and excited to take my parents With us. As always, the service was spot on, the food was amazing and we had a great time. We even were given a bottle of wine because we were moms! I love our local eatery and will continue to rave about it to friends and neighbors!!!

We've been to Talley's several times since it changed hands. It was a pretty good place under the previous management, and it's gotten better. It's still a great place for steaks (Allen Bros, yes!) or chops. Bring the kids early or come for date night later. It's not a big space, but it's got a comfortable and mellow vibe. And my kids would insist that I mention there's cotton candy for dessert. Yeah, cotton candy.

Excellent meal at Talley's. Everything we ordered was very flavorful. They changed up the menu a bit since the last time I was there, but they still had my favorites. The complimentary baked breadsticks alone are worth the trip there. My filet was on a bed of mashed potatoes that were so creamy and smooth they could have been a main dish! Wait staff is outstanding and attentive. Recommended a micro-brew to my husband and seemed very knowledgeable--the beer was perfect. I order a margarita every time I go here and the glass sizes are never consistent, but the flavor is. I highly recommend Talley's.

A great place to sit and chat and dine on really tasty food. The service was impeccable and it might very well be a hot spot, but I am judging it by being there on a Sunday when it was busy, but not overly crowded.

We've been going to Talley's and its predecessor restaurant for several years. We absolutely love the $10 steak special on Tuesdays and the 1/2 price wine night on Wednesdays. My last 2 visits I've had the spicy Grouper dish which has more flavor than any seafood dish in New Orleans.

We have been to Talley's twice in the last month and both times had great food and good service. The menu is diverse and the portions just right. My husband had the bone in ribeye and said it was better than the $50 steaks at the downtown steak joints. I had fish both times I was there and it was very good on both occasions. The bread pudding is rich but yummy. Definitely a neighborhood gem with an upscale and delicious menu.

  • Our third trip to Talley's
    OpenTable Diner Since 2013VIP
    Dined on 3/8/2013
Our third trip to Talley's was quite a disappointment. My wife and I both opted for the panko-crusted fish and chips on a Friday night. The fish had no flavor at all and also was not skinned prior to frying. The restaurant was empty when we came in at 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night which was telling. I really hope they survive as it appears they try. Our previous 2 visits weren't bad - burgers were good and Asian tacos very nice. I will say we had the same server each time and he was excellent - very personable. I'd give it another shot but go with the burger or something that is not a special as the fish was.

The food was excellent! We all had fish which was fresh and coked expertly. We went on Valentines's Day which might explain the poor service. The server was very friendly, but had tables all over the crowded restaurant and rarely was able to make it to our table. It took 15 minutes before she took our drink order and this was after we asked the hostess. Another 10 to get the drink which were finally brought by someone other than our server. The food ordering, its arrival, and securing the check all took a longer than "normal" time. There are probably too many tables in the small restaurant and we were by the door. There were barriers to prevent it, but each time a group came in, there was a blast of cold air.

This was a bad experience. We had been to Tally's on Wednesday and had the best chicken sandwich ever. It was so good we brought my daughter and Grandson back on Saturday . My chicken sandwich and my husbands did not even resemble the one on wednesday. Chicken was hard, onions greasy, bread wrong, presentation ugly. My grandson ordered the burger and it was swimming in grease. He could not eat it and We told our waiter who was trying hard. The manager or owner came over and was testy. We told him what we thought of our food and he said," Do you want me to take the buger off your bill?" Well yes he did not eat it. Then he got angry and insisted the chicken sandwich was as always. We paid for it and left. We will not be back

Talley's was...fine. Our server was very good, the food was very good, the ambience is nice, except for the downtown-style spacing of the tables. I expect that in the city, not in the 'burbs. We had a difficult time winding our way to the door from our back table without disturbing other diners. The starter breadsticks are cute...appearance is better than the tough texture and average flavor. Entrees are reasonably priced and tasty...just not memorable. We'll be back sometime...it's just not in our "regular" list of places to go.

Eight of us celebrated my birthday at Talley's. The menu options were great, but everything is ala carte. One of our party asked for a minor substitution, tomatoes instead of peppers on a sandwich and was told it couldn't be done. Another asked about an item on their former menu and was told it wasn't available anymore (how hard is it ti fix a bruschetta?). I had scallops which were perfectly seared and served over a bed of risotto. They were well-prepared but a little bland and needed something - even a little salt would have helped. Everyone enjoyed their food, but no one was "wowed." Our server seemed to want to be anywhere else but serving us, even though he automatically added a 20% gratuity to our checks.

This was my second visit to Talley's. The wine selection was good and the price of the glasses and bottles were very reasonable. The food taste and presentation was very good. Both, the fish and the meat entrees were perfectly cooked. The dining experience was good, but would have been much better if the server had been more mature and professional. She seemed to be in a hurry and wanted us to also be in a hurry to dine. I finally had to tell her once dinner was over, that we needed some time to finish our bottle of wine, and then we may order dessert and/or coffee. She would have been better in a pizza restaurant then a fine dining restaurant. But overall, I probably will go back.

This was our third visit to Talley's. First visit, incredible; second visit, yikes; third visit, very good. I would have given an overall score of Outstanding if they had done something about the very loud group of kids who were seated near us and whose parents didn't seem to care that they were disturbing the entire restaurant. It ruined our dessert. But the food was outstanding this time. It had been four months and while the kitchen has definitely got their act together, the front of the house still needs work. It is a relatively small room but I don't think it's a place to take kids and at those prices (deserved), I shouldn't have to suffer through a meal when I can't talk to the people I'm with because of obnoxious kids.

This place hasn't been open long but is not likely to survive, particularly in this location where restaurants don't last long. It is not a good sign when they "just ran out" of a dessert at 6:00 PM on a weeknight which is when we were dining there. The entree I had (asian tacos) was small, the food cold, and not something I would chose to order again.

Love this restaurant. This was my fourth visit and the place never disappoints. I tend to pick a favorite thing on the menu and then repeat my order time after time. This time I moved past the scallops to the steak frites and I have to say it was be fabulous as well. The waitstaff is attentive and helpful and service is excellent. Ms. Talley cruises the tables, is behind the bar, in the kitchen and at the hostess stand. In short, she is everywhere making sure that things go smoothly. It is a delight to have such a great restaurant in the burbs.
