This restaurant is fabulous. They also have jazz musicians playing. The meal was stellar and the service was marvelous and enjoyable. I can't believe I got 1,000 points and had one of the best meals ever at a restaurant in a small shopping area. I would have driven by if it hadn't been for your review. Thank you for a truly memorable experience. Annette Arase

The fire oven was down so our meals were pan fried and via the traditional oven. A little disappointing. I don't think the exhaust was working because the odors of fish were very pungent throughout. The steak and fish were acceptable, but nothing that I would recommend if asked. The couscous was mushy and pasty, as though it had been overcooked or reheated multiple times. Service was overly friendly and casual. Not necessarily a bad thing depending, but not for a high end dining venue. When you walk in, there is a bar and high top tables that seem lively, but more of a local hang out for the regulars (some in shorts). I don't think they have figured out what they want to be...a nice high end restaurant or a casual spot for the locals.

We found restaurant on line. We are visiting from Connecticut celebrating our anniversary. We love jazz music so live music was a plus. Food was superb, service extraordinary, and wine selection outstanding. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area. Crab cakes and octopus for starters, Kobe steak for main course, apple something for dessert. Superb red wine and brandy. Great spot.

Although the music was a little loud, and the acoustics in the restaurant were a bit bright (the noise bounces off the walls), the overall experience was very nice, and very friendly. My wife and I would do it again.

  • Vines Grille is a rare find,
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 7/5/2008
Vines Grille is a rare find, especially in Orlando where everything is aimed at families, slow/poor service and mediocre food. Vines Grille is an excellent restaurant well suited for a romatic dinner (live jazz up front but still very enjoyable towards the back of the restaurant). Great wine selection, excellent wait staff, fabulous menu. A true five star facility. If you are local (or even a tourist) and are tired of the tourist places, stop here; you will not be disappointed.

You must order the pork chop & order it medium. Amazing! It's like the kobe steak of pork chops. Also, if you're a cheese fan I suggest you try the cheese platter. Good variety of cheeses with the exception of the two blue cheese options. One blue cheese portion is enough. Our server was unbelievable. Very knowledgeable, great attention to detail & took great care of us. Prices are pretty high but the cost was worth it for the pork chop.

The website for Vines boasts about the restaurant's high class cuisine and impressive wine selection. The restaurant was out of both wines my fiance and I requested and they told us that they had not updated the wine list in at least three to four months. Our waiter was rude. His meal suggestions were awful. The resstaurant was loud. The prices were ridiculous considering the quality of the food served. Let's just say that I could find a better steak at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (3 doors down), better fish from Moonfish (same complex) or Bonefish (across the street) and much better wine at much better prices that are actually available with more desirable ambiance at Gran Cru (across the street). Overall the experience was mediocore at best.

I went to Vines to celebrate my graduation. I was with my sister and my husband. We had the BEST time and food was out of this world! Only negative comment is that the server was pushing too much on the flattering side...it did not seem authentic. Other than that it is a place to go back.

Wonderful experience and cant wait until we return. At first, once we seen the prices on the menu, we thought,"Another overpriced restaurant with bad service and food", but we were so wrong. We enjoyed every minute. The food was outstanding, service was grand, and the music and ambiance was just what we were looking for. I will share this experience with others. Thanks Vines Grille for a outstanding dining experince. Thanks

It was the perfect place for our anniversary. The food was great and the service was outstanding. In searching for the perfect place to have dinner for our anniversary, I looked for a restaurant which was four star or above and a place that played jazz; Vines Grille and Wine Bar met all my expectations and more.

Selected Vines based on dry aged filet uniqueness (per website). As it turned out, we did not find the filet very flavorful - in fact we were disappointed. Wet aged appears to be much better per this experience. We will only go for wet aged from now on! The service was great - but the beef was not to our liking. Enjoyed the jazz.

Great food but incredibly noisy and we were unable therefore to enjoy each others company. Perhaps we were unlucky as there was a very large group in the centre of the restaurant being quite loud. I get the impression that they cater for large groups as there were 2 in the restaurant that night. It was a shame because there was a good jaz band playing which we could not hear.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2004
    Dined on 5/5/2008
With some great Jazz musicians and an incredible wine selection, this small restaurant is an excellent find in Orlando, FL. The food quality is excellent and should be rated at 4.5 stars. It offers great cuts of Kobe steak, 28-day dry-aged, Prime cut steaks (Bone-in Rib Eye, Fillet, Sirloin), and typically offers at least two fish dishes including a phenomenal Mahi Mahi served over a lobster risotto. Coupled with a comprehensive wine list that highlights unique selections from Sonoma, Napa Valley, and multiple regions in France, this little gem is a great find in a city overwhelmed by schmaltzy restaurants.

Have been to this restaurant once a year for the last 5 years with the exception of last year. When we dined at this restaurant this year we were taken aback by 2 things; The menu changed not to include any pastas, and the exhorbitant price increases. The prices have gone up tremendously since just 2 years ago; over 30%. The price of the fish and steaks are comparable to Mortons and Capital Grille which this restaraunt is not. The new pricing is unacceptable and we will not be attending next year or probably ever. Going to this restaurant the day before Coverings started was a 5 year tradition that will be broken come the next show in Orlando. DEFINATELY not worth the prices charged. Better to go to Seasons 52, Samba Room, or Mortons

Our appetizer and salad were great,we were not please with the entrees, the sauce on my filet was very salty, the mashed potatoes were terrible. The grilled asparagus had a grilled burnt flavor. For the price I would not recommend this restaurant. The music was too loud and at some point it sounded like someone was just banging on the piano, I thought maybe it was a kid.Overall, it was overpriced and not a romantic place to go. The only good experience was the server. When we arrived no one was there to greet us and we stood there for a good 5-10 mins. The cocktail waitress saw us but did not say a word, a simple "we will be with you" would have been nice.It was not a great experience and for those prices, it should have been.

This is the first open table restaurant in which I was disappointed. I requested a quiet table and the hostess sat me in the first table next to the bar which was noisy. I asked about a table further back (the restaurant was empty) she informed me they were all reserved. Needless to say they were still empty at the end of my bad dining experience. So much for customer service. Food was average at BEST. Would NOT return to this restaurant again.
