I hadn't been here in about 7 years and it's not the same. The food was good, but the experience was lacking. The place just isn't firing on all cylinders -- if that's how the saying goes ...

Food was fantastic! Everything tasted better than expected and portions were larger than typical french restaurant. The mussels appetizer was my favorite part of the meal. Only problems... had to wait about 10 minutes for water refill and the "souffle" is not really a souffle, it's a chocolate lava cake(which tasted good- just don't expect a traditional souffle. You'll have to go to Le Coq Au Vin for that!).

We live about an hour away but the trip is definitely worth it. The food is always inventive and the service couldn't be better.

I've been here several times before, but this night, something just seemed to be off. The menu, while somewhat tired, was poorly executed. I don't know if there was a change in ownership, or change in a head chef, but something just didn't feel right. Due to length of time they've been in business, I'm inclined to give them a second chance, but in this day and age, and economy, it's hard to excuse mediocrity.

We have been living in Winter Park for many years and had yet to try Cafe de France. What a great neighborhood restaurant! This place is a quiet french cafe with great food, great service, and overall great experience. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant does everything right. The music was lovely and a nice low volume to facilitate talking with my wife, the food was incredible - The CARRÉ D’AGNEAU roasted rack of lamb was fantastic, the servers were great, and even the lighting was mild and romantic. My wife had the CANARD ROTI duck and said it was wonderful. We will definitely return.

For its intimate size, the venue didn't feel particularily warm, confortable, or inviting. And while the service was professional, it seemed to lack a friendly and concerned genuiness. The food was attractively presented and very tasty, but still nothing to rave home about. Everything was ok, but there just were no really wow factors.

I travel A LOT throughout Florida and have the opportunity to have dinner and/or lunch at a lot of very good restaurants. Cafe de France always delivers in every respect. The food has never been short of excellent. AND, because they offer half portions on many of the entrees, it allows you to start with one of Dominique's fabulous pates, move to their always delicious soup (Wed night's burgundy mushroom was wonderful), and then a half order of filet mignon, or as my friend ordered, perfectly prepared scallops. Daniel not only was a knowledgeable & attentive waiter, but he figured out how to get the inside lights in my rental car off. A GREAT restaurant!

There were 3 in our party and we had early reservations and when we arrived it was almost empty but that did not last long! Diners started arrving and it was obvious they were regular patrons. The food was as i remembered from my last visit (years ago). Why I had not returned i am amazed. We sampled three appetizers, i tried the soup of the day and each of us enjoyed differnt entrees. We even ate desserts. Every morsel was fabulous. I will be returning. BTW, the service was terrific and even though there were only two servers they handled the crowd well. Did not dine outside however many did and seemed to enjoy the experience.

As long-time customers of Cafe de France and frequent diners there, we were unpleasantly surprised by our experience at our last visit. The food was good, but not great and the service was not up to par -- forgetful and careless, our server seemed overwhelmed by the demands of his job. Not what we have come to expect from this local favorite and once reliably great restaurant.
