We love Joe's and go there several times a year. The food was very good, as always, and we got a quiet table in a corner away from the overpowering A/C--perfect for me. My one complaint is that a table was not ready for us at the time of our reservation, and we had to wait almost 10 minutes to get seated. However, that wait was much shorter than what walk-ins were being told to expect. We will definitely go back, but will take into account expected waiting time when planning a reservation.

first visit was the charm - not only was the menu wonderful, but there were excellent specials and all dishes could easily be customized to our taste. My guests and I loved the experience, and although noisy, we would return anytime.

This place is failing. Used to be a spot where we went a couple times a month- Food was mediocre - Prices have gone up and portion size has decreased. In fact the meal Arrived looking bland, boring and somewhat unappetizing- had the definite presentation of a hospital cafeteria. Nothing fun about it! burger looked sad and the tenderloIN salad special was so boring in taste and appearance could say I actually prepared it myself - that's pitiful!! Even the service was lousy, slow and inattentive!

Everything was great, but there is nothing worse for waiting for the bill to be delivered then waiting again to have the server pick up the bill. We paid at the check in desk. Otherwise, a great meal/drinks.

The Needham "Not Your Average Joe's" is not your average "Not Your Average Joe's" - while we have found others in the chain okay, the Needham site is outstanding. The bread is outstanding, you can make a meal of the appetizers and if your still hungry the main dishes are well prepared. They also have great specials - if they happened to have the crab cake stuffed sole on special - don't miss it - it's a real treat

Joe's has become our go-to place for an "after-work, too tired to cook" dinner. It's consistently good. The menu changes often so there's always something new to try. I'm particularly grateful for the gluten-free menu. They also have GF beer and cider. It's great to have so many choices.

The food selections were so good that I had a tough time deciding. I enjoyed my meal and tried my friends' meals and I would have any one of them the next time that I go back. The server had only worked there for a couple of weeks but he was fabulous with service, friendliness and efficiency.

The food was excellent and our server, Andrew, was outstanding! He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. We had a great experience. My only other comment is that the ambiance was acceptable but noisy because of the number of families with small children dining at the time we were there. If you are looking for a romantic evening, this is probably not the place for you.

Went at the last minute using the NYAJ birthday gift certificate by wife received. Good food as usual. The menu changes quite often which is nice We each had one of the dinner specials (tuna and flank steak), which were both very good. Only issue was we ordered a side salad, expecting it to come shortly after ordering. However, it took some time and there were only about 5 minutes from the arrival of the salad until the entrees arrived. Not the first time this has happended.

What a find. We were in from the west coast and had lunch with friends and then dinner (on another night) with other friends. Staff is extremely well trained, happy to work for the company, and the manager was so very efficient when we asked for the air conditioning to be turned down -- he came over and said it was being handled and apologized. Can't wait to go back to the east coast to dine with them again. OR, better yet, have them come to the west coast.

Waitress was somewhat unfriendly and inattentive. Wait staff is usually awesome. Salmon was undercooked in parts and overcooked in others, but they took the meal off our bill and re-did the dish. Mashed potatoes were luke-warm and lacked flavor. Mustard chicken was great as always.

We enjoy NYAJ's on a regular basis. Call ahead or reservations are a must especially on Fri. or Sat. evening or a special holiday. On Mother's Day there were people being turned away at the door even though there were many empty tables waiting for people with reservations. Our waitress was very nice, but service was very slow. The whole shebang was long and drawn out. We arrived for a 6pm reservation and still had to wait 15 min. for our bill which final came at 8:10pm. I like not feeling rushed, but this was ridiculous! Food was delicious, well prepared, although they often have trouble getting mashed potatoes heated all the way through. We like this place for a casual night out and the management aims to please if you have a problem.

I took my daughter here for an early birthday dinner because NYAJ sent her an email for a free meal and dessert to celebrate her birthday (great perk for signing up with NYAJ) We were seated in the bar area and because it was before 6pm I was able to enjoy the happy hour menu where most of the apps were half price . The service and food was wonderful and I have and will be returning to NYAJ in Needham

NYAJ's is a solid chain that aims to please. Each dish is well-prepared; they can generally handle some "custom" ordering. One big plus is their pricing. One big minus is that they close too early (10PM or 9PM). I am one to linger while finishing a bottle of wine. This visit, they had the bad sense to start *sanding and varnishing* while we were still drinking! Varnish does not pair well with any wine! Our server was a bit inexperienced and rushed us. NYAJ's servers should have better knowledge of the wines and how dishes are prepared. I usually stick with the specials, but the pork tenderloin on sweet mash (reg menu) wash very tasty and cooked to order. The espresso was frothy and served steaming hot, but no sugar cubes/lemon.

This was a Wednesday night visit and the place was hopping. There was a 20-30 minute wait but since I had reservations my wife and I were seated immediately. A little loud for me but everyone was having a good time. Food was very good. Tough to decide what to eat since they have a varied menu. Everything sounded tempting. The waitress brought fresh bread and dipping oil and this month there is a complimentary wine taste. I had eaten here a month ago mid afternoon. Very quiet and a great place to bring my infant granddaughter. Now that I'm on the email list I get updates on their monthly menu specials. I only eat out a few times a month but this place is worth going back to.

Food is always great at Joe's - service as well. They are willing to modify menu for individual tastes/diet. The wine by the bottle pricing is logical and reasonable. Basically they do the math for you on the price per glass vs. the bottle - "get a glass free" concept.

I've been to other NYAJs before. I like the food and the atmosphere but the service here was really poor. We were seated for at least ten minutes before the waitress came by. She got our drink order and then immediately took off without checking to see if we were ready to order (which we were) and it took probably ten minutes until our drinks arrived. The food came pretty quickly and it was really good. Then there was another lengthy wait while we waited for the waitress to pick up the check, seeing as we paid with debit. I realize it was a busy night but the service was unacceptable.
