The food is good and the cocktails are wonderful. However, it is almost impossible to talk with your dinner partner. The noise level is exceptionally high, and the music played simply adds to the noise. If the music would/could be turned down a bit, the general atmosphere would be greatly improved.

The only bad part is the back room. We were stuck in a corner and the table would jump an inch in either direction up and down. Needed a matchbook under the legs or something. Kind of cramped in the back room too.

My second time in. Was really pleased to see some changes on the menu from my last visit, means that they are using fresh ingredients and changing their menu to reflect it. Had an octopus carpaccio which was great! Service is great and not too overbearing. Love the ambiance. Good cocktail list and local beer selection as well. Great place to do tapas style meals since everything on the menu looks great and is a sharable sized portion. We'll be back!

I went for a dinner with my 89 year old father and we both had a few problems with the ambiance. The light was very low, which is great when you are young and your eyes work well -- horrible for older folks. As more people age, restaurants might want to consider how to make the menu reading a little easier if they have low lighting! In addition, due to the structure of the building, the music was loud and the noise level went up as more people came in to eat. I had a fabulous pizza and the Pumpkin Arancini were scrumptious as an app -- flavorful in themselves and even better with the delicious sauce. My dad had the Bolognese pasta was only passable: the sauce was heavy and leaden. The Tiramisu made up for it -- I would go just for i

It's great to see a place that is sticking to a spot near Davis Square that has had issues with turnover. Posto fills the gap very well by offering mid-range priced italian dishes with a modern vibe. I chose to sample the single-service pizza named Tuscano, which tasted pretty good. However, for $18 and 10 inches it seemed a bit pricy for a pizza that didn't stand out a whole lot except for the name of its ingredients. A friend thought her $11 Marinara pizza tasted similar to a store bought, microwavable Celeste pizza. Yikes ... it at least looked better than one. For stylish pizza one can do better (see: Za in Arlington), but for vibe and a nice looking wine list then Posto is a good spot to try out if you're willing to spend.

My husband and I went recently for "date night". I got the carpaccio to start, which was still frozen and not very flavorful, a disappointment. My husband got the meatballs, which were very good. He also really enooyed the gnocchi with short ribs and I can see why - my taste of it was heavenly. Not too heavy yet very satisfying. I had a bronzino special and the fish was really good - a nice crips skin and not overdone in the center. We shared a cannoli for dessert which was also good - creamy and not too sweet. The service was unfortunately very slow. Our server was very nice - when she actually came by. We didn't mind too much since we were enjoying our night away from the kids but it would have bothered us otherwise.

Noise is the issue. We went on a Sat. night at 6:00, before a concert. We were two people unable to communicate because we could not hear each other --too noisy. We asked the waitress if the music could be turned down--it was--but the noise level was still impossible. I was very embarrassed that I had asked my friend to a place so HUGELY NOISY. The food was good, the waitress nice. I can't go back until they change the noise level.

Gnocchi with braised short rib was outstanding. With no sauce, the pizza with sausage and rabe needed a little more fior di latte for both moisture, texture, and flavor. Beer selections were interesting--pretty things was the perfect pizza accompaniment.

I had read about Posto in A recent neswspaper article and was anxious to try it. The restaurant is an open air, contemporary style with a completely open kitchen and wood burning oven. The bar is rather small but serves some of the best wines by the glass. Where else can you get a glass of Brunello di Montelcino. The appetizers we tried were just ordinary at best. I had carpaccio which was really kind of bland while my wife had fried calamari which were good but quite forgettable. The pizza was good but again, just ordinary. The wait staff were very friendly and most helpful. Posto is a nice place to sip a glass of wine and enjoy a pizza.

We enjoyed Pizzeria Posto a lot. The main drawback was the noise...very jarring music was playing which, in our opinion, interfered with the dining experience. If not for that background noise it would become a favorite. Also, parking is very difficult in that area.

I went to Posto back in May when it first opened and decided to go back last night. While the May trip established Posto as a place to consider, last night's meal made it a place to go back to as soon as I'm hungry. My friend and I ordered their calamari as an appetizer and were not disappointed. It was incredibly fresh and cooked well. Plus the tomato sauce served with it was nicely warmed up. I ordered their seasonal Colorado lamb entree and was blown away. The lamb was cooked spot on, practically melted in my mouth and each bite was full of flavor. My friend had the tortellini and was equally pleased with the dish. Before ordering dessert, we already agreed that another visit in the future was warranted.

So much on the menu looked soooo good, and it was. I didn't much care for the mushroom pizza (I think it used a kind of mushrooms I don't like), but the bianco was exquisite, as were the pasta and appetizer we had first. We closed our eyes from time to time as we ate just so we could savor it. I would have liked a couple more options for dessert, but the tiramisu was wonderfully decadent. I don't know from wine, but the beer list was good. It was a little loud when the bar got busy (and by the time we left, the bar was hopping), but not too loud. The service was phenomenal - efficient without rushing us, friendly and attentive without being obtrusive.

The pizza isn't good. We love authentic Italian thin pizza, but this was so paper-thin that it was very soggy. We asked for a quiet table and were seated next to a group of 8 adults with two infants and two small children. The restaurant was quite full, and there has been a lot of press buzz, but we didn't hear anyone raving about the food. (We liked the appetizers and the dessert, but a pizza place should have good pizza!!)
