Pizzas can be lovely if they are not overcooked. Did not like eggplant involtini, eggplant needed to be cooked more, octopus carpaccio is delicious. Cocktail prices a bit high, especially when you are crammed at the bar...It is very noisy at peak times, bar is too crowded and uncomfortable then. I like a vibrant scene, but being too crowded and thus too loud is neither comfortable nor enjoyable. I liked this place better when I first found it, each consecutive visit has not lived up to the fist few times there. I also wish they were opened for Saturday brunch.

  • Would rather go to Figs

Pros: Great homemade pizza with extremely fresh ingredients; friendly and knowledgeable staff; enjoyed the low-lit tables, decor, and overall restaurant design, especially the partially open kitchen. Cons: Drinks were expensive; pizzas are slightly overpriced for the portion; tables for two were far too close together for an intimate dining experience; acoustics were poor in the main dining area (I would imagine the "function room" to be far quieter); espresso was an abomination and should be taken off the menu; Tiramisu was sloppy and too heavy. Overall, a restaurant with a lot of promise, but only delivering on the pizza. For the price and other factors, I would easily prefer Figs to Posto, whether dining or getting take-out.

We were going to a play nearby and I picked Posto from Open Table, then realized we'd passed by in the past and it looked intriguing. We didn't try the pizza -- will next time -- and our dietary needs were temporarily constrained but they met our needs very well and everything we ate was delicious. The waitstaff were pleasant, efficient, and non-intrusive.

Posto is a favorite go-to place in David Sq. The pizza, meatballs, calamari, and wine list are fabulous. Posto is great for small groups of friends or a double date, and their bar encourages socializing. The host/hostess are always friendly and accommodating, but the waitstaff can get a little pushy when they decide it's time to close (I'm defining pushy as putting chairs on the tables around you at 10pm). I recommend Posto to anyone looking for a great, affordable Italian style meal outside the North End.

We decided not to order pizzas this time and were disappointed. Both the chicken and steak were oversalted and didn't represent the creative kitchen we have grown to love over the past year. The polenta appetizer was deliciously rich - we will order it again, followed by the pizzas that Posto does so, so well. Host & waitstaff were friendly and very knowledgeable.

Seriously, this was the freshest, most delicious pizza I have ever had outside of Italy. The service was warm and welcoming, and I will definitely return. Posto was very warm and inviting when we entered. It was a Saturday night and they were packed. The food was very good and our waitress was wonderful. They have a fabulous wine system that allows you to taste expensive wines by the glass, which would be great for wine tasters! The only down side to this great little restaurant was the noise. We had to yell to hear the waitress and ourselves. When we walked out it was a 'relief' to get out of the noise. They definitely need to invest in some sound absorbing solutions! If noise doesn't bother you, it is a great little restaurant!

The service is personal and "wow" they actually remember you and smile when you appear at the door. Evn though this place is jamming on a busy night, the wait staff and management always treat you like a valued diner. We truly enjoy Posto. There is something for all tastes; the wood fired pizzas are a gem with fresh toppings that are unusual. What was most surprising was the mixed olive appetizer which was a very large portion (for 4 people easily) and each olive as fresh as if eaten in Italy! The attention to detail is clear. A destination dining spot and just happening enough to suit almost every occasion. Keep it up Posto!

Pros: creative, enticing menu options; DELICIOUS food; candlelit, loft-style decor; open kitchen and bar area; attentive waitstaff-- friendly but not intrusively/obnoxiously so; easy to find parking Cons: the space is small, so we felt a bit tight at our table for two This was my second time dining at Posto, and I was not disappointed. Their pizza is amazing, but this time I opted for a pasta dish-- crab tortellini with some kind of pureed pumpkin sauce. I would never have imagined those flavors together but it WORKED and the pasta itself was very light and delicate. My dining companion ordered a pizza, and it was also amazing- loaded with interesting toppings but not too heavy, and the crust was delicious too.

We all had pizza - the sausage pizza and the kale (?) pizza were very good. The mushroom pizza continues to be over-salted (this was a problem the last time I had it there as well). It is a shame since the pizza is delicious otherwise. The waiter was very knowledgeable about wines and helped us pair the wines with our pizza. The great thing about Posto is their selection of wines by the glass.

Pizzeria Posto puts on a clinic for outstanding service. This was our third trip to Pizzeria Posto, and the food has been consistently amazing - but it's the attentiveness of their staff that makes our dinner experience an absolute pleasure. We found ourselves seated at the table, drinking our wine and watching the staff orchestrate a beehive of productivity. Genuine smiles and a joint effort from from everyone to make sure the customer is happy. Give them a shot, you will be impressed.

We have been to Pizzeria Posto several times and it just gets better and better! It has become one of our favorites- the beef short rib pasta is out of this world! We loved the small changes that have been made since the last time we were there- additional seating is always great and it doesn't feel too cramped, which is key. This restaurant is such a gem, the staff are wonderful and so accomodating. We are so happy that Posto has joined Davis and we are not alone; it is clearly thriving!

Posto has it right. New, fresh, energetic. Contrary to a few reviewers, the noise level was fine and conversations at the table were easy to conduct. The cocktails are imaginative and many contain house-made infusions mixed in the proper ratios for the drink. The Gin Gin Mule, the Cherry Bella, and the Dante's Kiss are different and well made. Not your typical "classic" cocktail scene nor sugary affairs. Notable appetizers: Arancini, Polenta; Pizza's are good, Gnocci light as a pillow, Burger done right. Tirimasu amazing (recommend to have Dante's kiss with/as dessert). Been twice now to Posto and is now a destination dining experience. Great for carnivores and vegetarians alike.Fantastic wine preservation system so NO bad wine by the glass

The first time I dined at this local gem I had amazing bolognese (I am told no longer on the menu), a great wine and split a specialty pizza w/ my guest. the next time the food was good but not great, the tiaramisu was abundant but not really authentic to its name. The third time I was given a glass of wine that was 'old' and had turned, the pizza was not nearly as 'cared for' as the other times -- just was an off moment. I'll go back there's a good crew there.

We have been looking for good pizza in Boston area. Being from a New York, Italian family, finding good thin crust pizza that is not overly greasy and made with fresh ingredients is very hard in Boston/Metro West. It's no Brooklyn, NY (Grimaldi's is my favorite) pizza, but it is very good and you don't feel weighted down after eating it. This place had a nice vibe to it as well. We ate at the bar and got lots of advice from the bartender. Good wine selection as well. Enzo wine bar is a must try.

Amazing. This was our second time at Posto, and it's hard to believe it was more impressive than our first visit. 2 days later and we are still talking about how good the food was. The taste and experience was outright impressive. Equally as impressive was the service. The staff at Pizzeria Posto are experts at attentive customer service. Sitting at the stylish bar, we were immediately served with ice water, then the bartender came directly over to us to spend time to find us a perfect wine. (Even though the bar was jammed). Yet another employee set us up for food and cleared our area while yet another served the food. We were made to feel like royalty, and that our business was appreciated. Thank you Pizzeria Posto. We were promptly seated at the bar and our Bar Tender (Kleber) made 'out of this world' cocktails. We were blown away with his outstanding service and charming personality! Once we were given the menu, it was very rewarding for us to see that EVERYTHING was fresh and made from scratch (not from a box). It was extremely hard to choose what to eat - everything looked so yummy. Eventually we did and were extremely impressed with everything from presentation to portion sizes, which satisfied every taste bud. Way to go Chef Joe! We will be back again and again!
