We ended up in the NON Service area which could have been the entire dining room. The food tasted packaged and heated. It took forever to get service, bread, dinner and the restaurant was significantly understaffed. Pricing was NOT a match to the experience and food.

Service was a little slow, even though there were were not many people. Server didn't come around very much, we had to keep flagging her when we needed something, and again waited about 10 extra minutes for the check to come, after we asked for it. The food was delicious! We ordered a trout and salmon, and both steaks were generous in portion. I liked that you could choose from a variety of sides--I picked the sweet potato fries, which were very good. I would definitely come back.

Great restaurant located in the heart of downtown. Some of the best crab cakes we have ever found, and we have chased them all over the east and best, I mean, west coast. Smaller wine and beer menu than one would come to expect in Portland, but good nonetheless. Steelhead was amazing and crab Louie was remarkable. Located in the Portland Hilton, the ambiance and setting left some to be desired, but was still a great experience.

The restaurant was empty. We were one of only two tables on a Sunday evening. The food was disappointing, so I will probably not return and cannot recommend this restaurant. It is in a large hotel in downtown Portland, and should have been better.

We had a nice dinner here on a Monday evening, so it was pretty quiet most of the time, which was really nice. Halfway through our dinner a large group came in and were pretty noisy but it didn't bother us too much. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was delicious.

The valet service was nice but immediately mention that there is no free service at will be $8 per hour (so add another $30 with the tip for your dinner) The place is dark and somehow look no really clean The waitress was really nice and friendly, but definitively they need more staff....3 persons taking care of the whole restaurant ! The food was delicious: well cooked and nice flavors, and portions. The dessert were also really good The waiting time for our food was also too long Summary: Good food, long waiting times, parking could be an issue if you are not a passenger in the Hotel

I had the new crab cakes and they were outstanding..lots of crab and the chopped cucs and avocado plus the spicy salsa made it great. Lots of crab taste but also a good tooth interest. The mexican brulee was great..not too hot but very wonderful. Wine choices were right on thanks to the wait staff.

I was in town for the weekend and wanted a leisurely and delicious dinner near my hotel. I had the macaroni which was good and my boyfriend had the chicken which was great, juicy and flavorful. I'm not sure if we were taking too long or conversing too loud (it was very quiet throughout and we are a couple decades younger than the other diners) but we began to feel rushed by the staff. The waiter came by a few times to clear our plates and, after turning him away a few times, the manager came out to ask if he could clear our plates or box anything up for us. I'd recommend it for the food but ambiance was far from relaxing.

We have eaten at Bistro 921 a lot! The great side is the wait staff doesn't change and they know their return customers. Prices have gone up but the quality of the food hasn't kept up. It is "medium." Not really good and not bad. Tough environment when you are surrounded by REALLY great restaurants with similar prices. It needs to compete with quality....

This was our 3rd Mother's Day returning to Bistro 921 with the family, and I look forward to the experience all year long! The staff is friendly and attentive, the food is fresh, delicious, and beautifully arranged, all in all a 5 Star experience every time! Plus we've NEVER felt rushed or pressured to finish our meal and leave, which has happened other places. We've been to MANY of the local Mother's Day brunch buffets around town over the years, and Bistro 921 at the Hilton is the ONLY place we've loved enough to return year after year! We'll be back again next year without a doubt! The long stemmed red rose for "Mom", is always a nice touch too! Thanks for making my Mother's Day special every year!!

Being somewhat last minute planneers we found Bistro 921 in OTable with availability for Mother's Day. Bistro is in the Hilton hotel downtown. I wasn't sure what to expect as I have not been to a buffet line for several years. There were most of the standard breakfast buffet choices plus some entrees that were a little more upscale like the lambchops and the large peelable shrimp. The line was kept neat, the food hot and the only issue was resolved with table service delivery of bagels for the excellent lox that was on the line. What made this a complete buffet was the desert selections. There were many featuring fresh berries and a chocolate fountain with many great dipping options. We would definitely go back! Oh, and a rose for the moms.

We enjoyed our Easter brunch at Bistro 921 however they had a jazz trio playing during brunch and the music was so loud we could not hold a conversation at all while the music was playing. We were seated next to the trio and could not hear ourselves think. The only relief we got was when the trio took a break to eat brunch. Very disappointing.

Service was slow and there was hardly any patrons in the restaurant. Ordered the Caprese salad and the my partner ordered the burger. The pesto was way too salty and there was too much of it! When I asked for balsamic vinegar I got a ramekin of salty balsamic dressing. The burger had no flavor and the fries were cheap frozen fries (14.95 for burger and fries). When I did not eat my salad and told the server I could not eat it, she just asked if we wanted to order dessert. I ended up telling the hostess about the salad and she offered to comp it. I was really surprised that our server said nothing and did nothing to try to fix the situation. The hostess even told me that there had been complaints about the saltiness before. Will not return!

We went for the Christmas brunch, 4 of us in the group, and had a lovely meal. The food was more lunch themed than breakfast. I had the cioppino which I loved! And the prawns, Waldorf salad, fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, and a smoked duck noodle dish. All were great! Also a cooked to order omelette which was too browned. The desserts were abundant: a chocolate fountain with fruits, marshmallows, rice crispy treats, then eclairs, multiple cheesecakes, cupcakes, etc. The service was fantastic; the coffee and mimosas were never empty, they weren't overly chatty but friendly, and gracious. We had such a nice time!

We were a party of 12. They seated us in the private dining area, which was very nice. I had called ahead to inform the staff that we were attending an event & were on a time frame, to help facilitate the service. Those who ordered salads were disappointed as they had obviously been made ahead & were soggy. The most frustrating aspect of the experience was being served the entree's 15 minutes before the time of our event. Everyone had to rush, some did not finish their dinners. The restaurant only had a few other tables & they were small groups. All in all, the consensus was that we would choose another restaurant next year. We have enjoyed the Bistro for the past 12 years & it's sad to break a tradition.
