More expensive than other steak houses listed in $$ category, but very good food, lovely ambiance and attentive service were worth it from my point of view. My elderly mother, however, was upset at the prices which colored her overall enjoyment as well as lack of desire to return.

Our experience at McNamara's was outstanding. We were seated immediately, the staff was friendly and efficient. The waiting time for drinks was minimal. Best of all the food was terrific. I had the Prime Rib and it was "melt in your mouth" succulent. The other 3 members of our dinner party were raving about their meals also. Definitely a keeper.

Absolutely the worst crab cakes ever. They were flavorless, too much stuffing and difficult to eat. The steak turned out good and the bread pudding was overcooked, but the creamy powdered sugar coating helped me overlook it because I am a sugar junkie.

Steak was over cooked and sides were too salty. Salads were drenched in dressing. Very disappointing. Had a much better experience a couple years ago. Not sure what changed since. I will try them one more time to be sure.

The overall experience was nice. A dress code would be appreciated; with it being Father's Day, who'd expect the other diners to be in wrinkled shorts and for their children to run up and down the entry way?

Excellent meat quality and selection. Mashed potato very salty. Iceberg Wedge salad very good. Oysters Rockefeller needs help. Far too much cheese (1/3 + cups) over each oyster and missing the Pernod. Could of been fondue. Sauce for Bread Pudding had no flavor and was rubbery due to perhaps too much thickening agent. The ambience was comfortable. Prime rib excellent.

Sadly outdated atmosphere with sadly outdated food: oysters rockafeller are basically a pile of melted salty cheese without the staring oyster making any appearance other than the shell itself. The spinach salad has no resemblance to an actual spinach salad other than the spinach. The service was good but it just can't change the fact that this restaurant isn't really worth dining at. Go to Forbes Mill, or really, anywhere else.

Has all the menu selections you would expect from a steakhouse. I have been here about 5 times now and the quality of the steak is comparable to black angus. The creamed spinach comes in a soup bowl which I guess is why it is "soupy". Unfortunately this is the only place within a 3 mile radius of the Dublin area with a decent bar and ambiance so it doesn't really give much choice for entertaining clients.

Wanted a nice place to take Aunt and Uncle out to dinner. Looking for a steak house, McNamara's was recommended and we thought we'd give it a try (first time for all of us). The atmosphere was very nice. Service was not what you'd expect in such a nice place (not very attentive, brought a wrong drink, didn't smile much). Food was good, not exceptional.

For the price this restaurant is not worth it whatsoever. The steaks were priced as if it was a true chop house, but were not of great quality and prepared poorly. The vegetables seemed as if they were packaged and frozen previously. After spending nearly $1000 on a business dinner for seven, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Spinach salad was oddly full of cranberries and entirely without bacon, so not traditional at all. The fried artichoke hearts are great for a bar appetizer. So the food isn't great, but it's a nice place with some interesting menu choices for Dublin.

We enjoyed a nice dinner for my boyfriend's 35th birthday. Food and service were both good. I was a little disappointed because I had told the restaurant that it was my boyfriend's birthday beforehand (when I booked through OpenTable) and I said anything extra would be nice to acknowledge his birthday. I know it wasn't required of them, but nothing was done.

We arrived on Saturday night a bit early to have drinks with our friends before dinner. There was no cocktail waitress, so after waiting for 15 minutes, the bartender came over and took our drink order. She was clearly not happy about doing this and was just short of rude. It took another 15 minutes to actually receive those drinks. Once we sat down and ordered our food and it took forever for the salad to arrive. 3 of us ordered a wedge salad and they all had brown spots in the lettuce. The rest of our main courses were very mediocre and considering the bill for four of us was close to $300 (one bottle of wine), I just wasted a lot of my hard earned money on a bad dinner. Go elsewhere!

Elegant setting, beautiful bar, good wine selection and generous cocktails. Steaks and prime rib are some of the best you will find. Top end steakhouse with great service. We were there on a Tuesday evening and two of the dining areas were taken by businesses for dinner meetings. Our food was not delayed and the service was timely and professional. Usually it is quiet during the week but the staff can handle crowds, too. Take your mate for special occasion or make your own.

Great food, excellent service. A very slight bit noisy, but only because the entire restaurant was full! As is expected of a Steakhouse, the beef is the highlight of the the menu, but the other selections are also very tasty. As someone who enjoys water as a set piece to the meal, their "house water" comes in a bottle, and is crisp and refreshing, clearing the palate between courses of dinner. Great for special occasion or just a nice dinner.

My wife and I went to McNamara's Saturday night, Feb.12, 2011. The atmosphere is classy and calming, just right for a quiet dinner. It's also quite a large facility, with several large rooms holding a few dozen tables. The bar looked inviting, though we had drinks at our table. The food was very good, with healthy choices available, with a vast and varied wine selection. The service was friendly and professional.

The attitude of the staff from when we walked in was indifferent. The hostess did not even look up to greet us when we walked in. Our server never smiled once...oh wait yes he did when I ordered a $60 bottle of wine. The only person that really cared about us was the server assistant. The entire experience was as cold as a summers day in San Francisco. I will never go back, this was a special valentines day night and dinner was ruined by this experience.

We keep coming back to McNamara's in Dublin because of its elegance, delicious food and outstanding service. The feel is "upscale country club" where comfort and formal blend together nicely. I can't comment on their desserts as we never have room for them and often can't finish our meal. Great appetizers. Their oysters are amazing. McNamara's has a nice variety of fresh and crisp salads too. Their steaks and combination entrees are high quality and include potato/vegetable, something that "Steakhouses" have been selling as side dishes for the past decade or two. That makes their prices comparably good. Their impeccable service raises McNamara's overall value to one of the best!

The ambiance was good, although it appeared that they had try to squeeze a few to many table in, as throughout the night people were squeezing past the back of my chair. We were met with a smile and the waitress had a lovely manner and a good understanding of the menu and was easily able to handle a gourp of 6 persons. Appertisers consisted of 3 half salads, one french onion soup and a calamari, enjoyed by all, the calamari was very large and a little heavy on the batter. Steaks alround for the entrees, one Strip came has to be returned due to be stringy, has potatoes under the special fillets were burnt and potatoe order was 80% wrong due to kitchen running out of gratin potatoes and not telling anyone.

Although the hostess who checked us in seemed to be a bit frazzeled and overwhelmed I still wanted to give this review 5 stars. The hostess seemed not to know whether or not a customer could make a request about where to sit and she failed to tell the owner who was most gracious when I approached the desk again. The owner assigned us to a fantastic table, not in one of the smaller rooms but in the piano room and a booth. We were very pleased with the location. Our waiter was wonderful and had to work especially hard to open the bottle of wine we brought. The wine was 10 years old and the cork broke, but our waiter rushed to get a decanter and strainer to pour the wine. The food was delicious and we were very happy with our experience.

The food was very good. Unfortunately there was a Christmas Party going on in the main dining room right next ot us and they were having a great time but making alot of noise and very loud which made it very difficult for our group to talk. I would suggest putting large parties in a back room. Other than that it was great!

Ate at McNamera's for a work event. It was very appropriate for that setting. Has a sort-of-formal "East Coast" feel to it, but we were comfortable enough to joke and laugh loudly. The food and service was very good. I was thrilled that they use OpenTable - the whole evening was easy and enjoyable. I wish the wine list had been a tad more "Central Coast" and a little less "Napa"... but that's just me.

My wife and I very much enjoyed the service and food at McNamara's. My wife had the salmon option on the 3 course prix fix menu and thought it was great. She also about the mashed potatoe's and they were VERY GOOD. I chose the blackened prime rib topped with 3 large prawns. The prawns were not necessary as they didn't enhance the meal but the prime rib was outstanding. Overall, a very good experience and we'll be going back more often.

They try really hard to make it a steak and chops restaurant, so an A for effort! The food falls short of that effort though. The shrimp/lobster bisque was simply inedible. The onion soup was little better but made palatable with a thick coating of cheese. Don't expect steak house food and it's a fine local dining desitination.
