  • Our server left us hanging

Our server left us hanging during our dinner. We finished our dinner, our drinks and ready to leave for at least 15 - 20 mintues before we can spot our server. After we asked for the check it was quickly processed. However, our dinner would have been better if we can get our check earlier or at least have our drinks refill while waiting.

Not sure what they issue was but we waited > 10 minutes for our table without much explanation, and they were not that busy. We ended up be seated at a very small 2-top as they said they were "filling up" and in 10 minutes opened another section of the restaurant for other, larger 2-tops. The waitress was most unfriendly and wasn't having a good night. Altough the food was OK overall, the staff just didn't seem to care whether we were satisfied or not. Safe to say we won't be going back here any time soon. There are too many other better restaurants in this same downtown visinity or at Santana Row.

Great place for a good meal before the hockey and arena football games. Nice to have the taxi out front for a quick ride to the game.

Our dinner was very good, however, because it was St. Patrick’s Day it was busy and getting our drinks and the attention of our waiter was slow. Although our waiter was busy he was very good and kept apologizing for making us wait. Both main courses we ordered were very good, a lot of flavor and good size. I would go there again.

Turned out the waiter that first came to us, with whom we've been helped in that past and is enthusiastic and friendly, though not overly so, and who was assigned to the table next to us, was not assigned to us that evening. The waiter who was assigned to us took a while to come over, had no other tables nearby and was efficient, but would not be my first choice ever again. I mentioned that I loved the rice dish which was plated with my cashew encrusted talipia and he was able to give me a run down of the ingredients, including the fact that it had been soaked in a orange pekoe tea. That impressed me. Though, still wish we had the waiter who first greeted us. We do enjoy McCormick and Schmick and visit several times a year.

  • The slowest service I have
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 3/14/2008
The slowest service I have ever had at a restaurant of this caliber. Almost no service when we arrived (no bread, no water, slow coming to take our orders). We didn't have appetizers and it still took over 1 hour from being seated to food arriving at table. I have been there before with great experiences but this was a disappointment.

we were disappointed that they neglected to say anything about our 30th wedding anniversary that i noted in the reservation. the food was fine but better watching the water glass and bread would have been better. They were quick to clean the dishes that were used and not needed/ like we have someone waiting for your chair.

Waitress was not the most attentive... our drinks were never filled and i almost left without the sauce that i had asked for becauase she forgot to bring it to me. I also asked to have my calamari brought out at the same time as the meal and she brought it out early anyways stating that she didnt want it to get cold... ? I asked for it to come with the meal so it should not have even been made then! I was dining with my two kids and if i give them calamari before hand they tend to get full of an appetizer not the main dish!!

  • This was not a good dining
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

This was not a good dining experience. We waited for our table in the bar - very inattentive bartender (almost surly). Ordered salad, did not receive. Ordered steak "medium-well" and received it "rare". Sent steak back and then salad arrives with so much salad dressing that the lettuce was "wet" with dressing. While trying to eat the salad, entree returned. Not a pleasant experience and would probably not return. Please provide the restaurant with this feedback. Don't understand how they can charge the prices they do and serve less than medicore food. Thank you.

We made a reservation for 7:15p through opentable, we checked in around 7:10p, and were finally seated around 7:40p. the matre di, kept telling us they were setting our table for about 10 mins. I looked the table had been empty, it literally took them that long to set it. Our server worked really hard to get things out timely, but between busing, serving and waiting on other customers, she didn't really have time to tend to us. We wanted dessert, but it took her so long to ask us that we all decided to go next door to the bakery to get it. I am not sure I will return on a Saturday evening. They need to hire more staff to be expedient.

A far cry for one of the orginal M+S in Portland, OR. Seafood was overcooked, service was less than attentive and this location was generally awful. Even simple drinks were delivered late and wrong. Put this one in the "to be skipped" category.

We wanted to celebrate our 1st anniversary so we made a reservation at McCormick & Schmick's upon a friends recommendation. The first thing is that we were running late so I called to adjust the time and they were very accomodating. Second, when we arrived, we were seated to a table with a card congratulating us on our 1st anniversary with a gift certificate for a future visit! On top of that, the food was delicious and we left feeling very satisfied with the overall experience!

This dinner was a DISASTER!!! Everything went wrong, from the service to the orders. I took a vendor as a thank you, and ended up apologizing from the time we sat down to the time we left. Not sure if they were just having an "off night", but I SUGGEST YOU AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. I NEVER go there again based on this experience!!!
