A word from Tao Restaurant and Nightclub
Guests are transported from the City of Sin to the Pacific Rim inside TAO Asian Bistro, a 60,000 square-foot, multi-story “Asian City” housing a restaurant, banquet facilities, lounge and nightclub. Lush velvets and silks, waterfalls and century-old woods and stones accentuate the experience, and the restaurant’s signature 20-foot Buddha watches over every corner of the restaurant while floating peacefully above an infinity pool complete with Japanese koi.

Corporate Executive Chef Ralph Scamardella has developed a menu for the 400-seat restaurant by incorporating culinary components from China, Japan and Thailand. Signature dishes include offerings from sea, sky and land including Chilean Sea Bass Satay with Wok Roasted Asparagus, a preparation of Peking Duck that consistently receives accolades, and Kobe Beef Shabu Shabu along with a full sushi bar.

  • We have previously had dinner

We have previously had dinner at Tao four times over the last year. This visit was a disaster. Dinner for six people at 8:00 pm. The spinner was playing loud techno beat music in the lounge which is okay but it actually gets piped through the whole first floor. This is not dinner music and the nightclub doesn't open until later. We were seated at a tiny table better designed for four which couldn't even fit all of our plates. Two of our party left because service was slow and music too loud. Food was good but none of us finished it or our wine as we couldn't stand the noise, service and general staff attitude. We will not be back. We were also at Tao for Ne Year's Eve whic was laughable -- $2500 for nothing and no mgmt response to my letter

Have been to both locations and both horribly loud. Don't mind for the club but, for dining it is horrendous. We really love the food we have been 3 times,2, in Las vegas and 1 in Manhattan. But myself and the other diners were disappointed in the noise level again, and probably will not go back again. One cannot carry on a conversation over dinner without yelling. We were there on Tuesday April 8 at 8 pm, before seeing "Jersey Boys" where the noise level is most acceptable.

Good food and interesting decor. Service was good too. Despite the positives, the restaurant was so choatic and loud that it was hard to enjoy. Had to stand in long club-like line just to check-in with the host. Also very expensive for what it is. Probably would not go back.

Arrived at for our 8 p.m. reservation. Waited 20 min. before seated, ugh. Food was great. My husband's first time here. Would have been great to be seated in a booth or a more intimate area since we were celebrating my birthday. It was also a getway trip as we've been busy w/work, kids, etc. We were sat in an open area sitting directly next to other people. The waiter was great to recommend items on the menu and advise us on how much might be too much. His recommendations were great! He was good to check in with us during our meal. While we missed out on having dessert, we did make it to the Tao Night Club after dinner for music and dancing! It was a great evening overall and we do hope to go back soon! Best Regards, John &Rachel Hanson

Our reservation was for 7:30 PM and they did not attempt to seat us until 7:50. The table they offered was not satisfactory we then needed to waited another 15-20 minutes of which the 2nd table was equally unacceptable in a major traffic area. I did request a table that would have been acceptable but was told it was reserved for parties of 4. This booth was later seen by us with 2 people. All though the food was excellent as it was the 1st time we dined here we felt very rushed when we did get service. I found myself having to run down my server on a regular basis. This resturant caters to mostly large parties.

Beautifuly decorated with a great night club attached (but without the noise drifting into the eating area). The wait staff was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. Great for large groups and a romantic dinner for two. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the incredible sushi and impressively large sake selection. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent restaurant and Night Club. Food was delicious and the service provided by our waiter Mario was extremely courteous. Nevertheless, there should be some areas in which there shouldn't be that loud music around. We understand Tao being the place to be at night in Las Vegas must have ths party environment but there are several business people that wants to have an exquisite dinenr while closing some deals with customers, and for that you need some not quiet places but at least with moderate noise. Overall, excellent restaurant and the reservation service provided by Open Table was also good. My reservation was clear, on time, no problem finding my reservation at all. Thanks.

We hated this place. We had a reservation, that was over 15 minutes delayed. They wouldn't seat us until everyone was there. How stupid, 7 of the 8 were present and we would have had a round of cocktails and appetizers ordered and consumed before our last friend arrived. Their loss. The noise made it impossible to talk, and the staff was incompetent at best. No plate, food delivered erratically and under cooked. In general this was one of the worst Las Vegas dining experiences I have ever had.

I was very frustrated to have to wait over a half our past our reservation time to be seated. I had a 6:45 reservation for 6, for my Dad's 60th birthday. I confirmed the reservation (per Tao's request) the morning of the dinner, and we arrived at the restaurant at about 6:40. I checked in and they asked me to wait a minute--I assumed until a hostess was able to show us our table. But we weren't seated until about 7:15pm! I went up to make sure the hostess had checked me in at about 7:10pm, and the host actually told me that "there were a lot of businesspeople dining here tonight" and we would just have to wait. As though we were not important? This was a terrible way to start off what otherwise would have been a very enjoyable meal.

The food was outstanding. The ambiance was cool, and had a nice Vegas vibe. Compared to most restaurants on the strip, it was reasonably priced for the quality. The only negative was the fact that our Uncle Fester looking server was not at all helpful despite the fact that he knew we were first timers and that Tao has a large menu with lots of different dining styles. We also made it clear we would like assistance or suggestions but were provided none. Nonetheless, we chose well and thought it was a great overall dining experience. We will be back, but hopefully with a different server.

Our server was too busy to give our table enough attention to even refill a glass of water. Food took about 45 minutes to be served and we're talking SUSHI!!! No cooking involved here! The restaurant was very very busy. Obviously people think/know the food is good and it was but I didn't find anything so extraordinary that I would have to go back. It seemed like a mix of older people there on vacation/ for a conference and a lot of starry eyed girls. Once again- nothing fabulous about the food. The decor is beautiful. The restaurant itself is HUGE! I would go back if I could go on an off day or off hours. There are plenty of other restaurants in Vegas with less noise, wait, and equal ambiance. Go find it. I did.
