A word from Oleana
Oleana is a neighborhood restaurant with a strong focus on flavors and comfort. The cuisine centers on the Arabic influenced foods of the Mediterranean with a strong lean towards Turkish fare. Winter months feature a roaring fireplace and in the warm weather the gorgeous garden is open for dinner.

My husband and I were given a gift certificate to Oleana as a late wedding present to continue our celebration into our first year of marriage. It was an unbelievable meal. Both of us are "foodies" and have spent many years working in restaurants ourselves. The service was great, the wine list was wonderful and the food was not only to-die-for, the presentation was lovely. My husband has a severe nut allergy and our server was well prepared to steer us in the right direction and offered delicious recommendations to avoid anything with nuts. I would recommend Oleana to anyone and we intend come back again with friends and family in tow.

Oleana is one of my favorite restaurants. The wine list is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly well-able to pair a perfect wine with your dinner. I don't know if there's anything negative I can say about Oleana. The restaurant is very small, so you're usually bumping up against your neighbors a bit, but it doesn't really detract from the wonderful food and wine.

As usual, everything was great -- very inventive and well-prepared food. Also, we enjoyed an excellent and affordable Swiss wine. My only disappointment was a chicken salad appetizer supposed to contain black truffle, which did not have any truffle taste. A small mis-step at an otherwise excellent restaurant.

We had a reservation for 8:30. We were not seated until a little after 9. The hostess spoke to us and apologized througout that time. When we were seated, she had hors d'ouvres served to us without cost. Our waitress was excellent. Each of our party had a different meal and each one was fabulous. We also share dessert and because it was the birthday of two of our party, they brought baked alaska ( which was to die for) with a candle. We loved the food, the ambiance and the excellent service.

The food is amazing, but our waitress was terrible! She forgot our appetizer, forgot my husband's drink, and never brought us the check and then stopped by and was like, "Oh, you don't have a check?" Meanwhile, because so many tables are packed into the small space, other waiters/waitresses were constantly banging into the back of my chair while I ate and one even glared at me as if it was my fault. Weird! Anyway, I am definitely going back again in 2 weeks time for a special occasion because the food is so good. Just wish they could step it up with the service.

We have been to Oleana a number of times and have always had a wonderful meal. The food is interesting and tastes great! The service is warm and professional and the folks that work at Oleana really seem excited about what they are doing. Each time we eat there we taste something delicious that we have never had before. The last time we were there the dessert special included mastic ice cream. I am from the island in Greece where mastic is produced (the only place in the world where it is successfully grown) and I had never seen mastic on an American menu. We will definitely be back!

Flavors, spices, herbs, and combinations you've never tasted before. Vegetarians (and non-vegetarians) will savor every mouthful-- great choice for friends and foodies looking for something deliciously different without the pretentiousness that usually comes with this kind of food. The vegetarian tasting menu, ordered by our dining companions, was truly to-die-for. They raved about this meal for a year, even though they have lived in Cambridge for 5 years. Excellent value-- approximately $50 per person for 3 courses, wine, and tax. Leave room for dessert-- the chef is not only a James Beard winner, but she is also an award winning pastry chef.

An amazing interpretation of Mediterranean and North African food. The atmosphere is low key and compliments the food with soft lighting and a small cozy backyard. The service is excellent and the waiters are very knowledgeable and helpful in describing the dishes. The spices used are very unique and certainly taught me a lot about new ingredients. Not a suitable restaurant for those who aren't very food adventurous, but it is one of my favorites.
