  • My first disappointing meal

I've eaten here a bunch of times and always enjoyed the food and the service. I went last Friday and the place was pretty crowded and a bit too noisy. We ordered a nice bottle of wine which the server decanted for us. Nice touch! The appetizer was a tomato, buffalo mozzarella and eggplant stack. Nice juxtaposition of textures. Then the main course. My lady had a butter fish stuffed with crab. Very flavorful and delicate. I ordered the specially aged porterhouse. I'm a steak guy and I know that aged meat is superbly tender and flavorful. The steak arrived done to perfection. Unfortunately, it was as tough as shoe leather. That tells me they aren't aging quality meat, but cheaper stuff. They took it off the bill, but it was a bad experience.

What a great choice for dinner. The atmosphere was friendly and the servers were excellent. There were many specials presented by our server and we chose a few of them that were outstanding. We would definitely come back to try other selections. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and it was nice to see so many others celebrating at Toscano's.

Never a disappointment. Spectacular food with warm, personal service. The menu looks amazing but the specials are always so good that we still haven't ordered from it in over 5 visits. Must try the pane Toscano and daily special gnocchi. Plating never ceases to amaze.

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday at Toscano's, and as usual, had an wonderful experience. The food is outstanding and the service is excellent! My husband had the Cowboy Steak and declared it the best steak he has ever had, and we have eaten at several fine steak houses across the country. My pasta dish was also excellent. We strongly recommend Toscano's for a great dining experience!

Good food (we liked everything we ordered), a good wine list (nice varied selection from all over the globe), and good service (water glasses were often refilled without needing to ask), but it is very noisy. It was so noisy that we almost after being seated.

The service and food are always exceptional. It was a Sunday, so we chose from the Family-Style Dinner Menu which I highly recommend for large groups. We enjoyed the Bacon-Dusted Calamari and Italian Eggrolls as an appetizer, Chopped Antipasto, and Penne Vodka. For our main courses we had the Chicken & Shrimp Bellisimo (the marsala wine sauce has such a fantastic flavor) and one of the best Chicken Parmagiana I've ever tasted. And of course, you cannot leave Toscano without having one of their signature desserts. The four of us had the Maple Crème Brulee, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Custard, and Tiramasu. Can't wait to visit again for New Year's Eve!!

This was my second visit, and I must say the first time was wonderful. This time, however, I was a little disappointed in the food. I had the veal and crab cake special. The veal wasn't nearly as tender as my fellow diner who had veal francaise. Also, the crab cake was so-so. Another friend and I split our meals, since she had steak. The filet was cooked medium rare as she asked, but it was so dry and almost flavorless. It had a charred outside that dominated your taste buds. Not sure what happened this time, because our first visit was a four star experience. Will definitely go back, since everyone has an off day.

Finally a chance to go out with the wife for a dinner without kids or a plastic menu. From start to finish, our experience in Toscanos was wonderful. The only remark that i might make, is that the lighting was just a tad low for viewing the menu. Other than that the ambience was great. Absolutely no complaints about our server who was very knowledeable and attentive. The food was excellent. My wife had the Veal Saltimbocca and I the Pesto crusted Bluenose. We will definitely come back and will highly recommend Toscanos to family and friends.

The menu and the special offer a lot of choices for many different types of tastes. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Both times I went there, they were very willing to make substitutions to accommodate dietary issues. The eggplant rollatine is a great appetizer. Had seafood, fish and steak and all were cooked to perfection with great accompanying sauces and sides. Can't wait to go back.

We've been coming to Bordentown for a few years to try different restaurants. I don't know how we missed Toscanso, until now. All 5 of us shared the appetizer sampler and probably could have called it a night. Everything was delicious and plentiful. Each entree was better than the next. Portions were large enough for everyone to take a doggie bag, we had to try dessert. Also excellent, creme brulee and zabaglione. Service was also exemplary. We'll definitely be back. It was a great meal!

While a bit pricey (figure at least $50 per person) the menu choices are many and varied, and very creative. The service was top notch. We came late and yet were not rushed at all. Service was discreet and very professional. The specials were extremely creative and excellenty prepared, visually very appealing, and a delight to the taste buds. Due to price not somewhere to go every day, but definitely a must visit a few times a year!

our glasses were never empty & the server was knowledgeable. Everything we tried was great. We were a little surprised when the check came though because the specials( the 28 day beef in particukar)were very expensive. I would recommend the server tell you the prices after describing vg the specials, as some other places do. Our bill for 2 people was $200 +. The creme brulee was burnt which was a disappointment & the restaurant didn't take notice of the open table reservation note that it was my birthday so they didn't acknowledge it.The host didn't acknowledge us properly when we walked in. He spoke to us after a few seconds but had his head down & didn't look at us; while still thinking about a previous call. overall a nice night.

I HAVE BEEN TO TOSCANO SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD A GREAT TIME. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS EXCELLENT. THIS VISIT I ORDERED A DISH I HAD HAD BEFORE THAT WAS NOT ON THE CURRENT MENU. OUR SERVER CHECKED WITH THE CHEF AND MY REQUEST WAS NOT ONLY GRANTED, BUT I WAS GIVEN A CHOICE OF WHAT FISH I WANTED TO ACCOMPANY MY TRIO. THE DISH IS A MASTERPIECE. SHRIMP, SCALLOPS,SALMON AND A BRUSCHETTA TOPPED WITH CRAB. ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER EATEN. MY GUESTS ENJOYED THEIR DISHES AS WELL. I TRULY CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN.

I would a picked another place. Toscano was packed and very, very loud at 8pm. Our group of four nearly had to shout to one another over the crowd. One guy completely lost it and ended up shouting to his server "All I want is a hot meal!" ...among other things. He was also irritated by a large table celebrating a birthday. The restaurant was too small for large and noisy groups. It took twenty minutes for us to be greeted by a server so I asked the hostess if there was a problem. Her reply was "We are very busy." This was unacceptable in my opinion and I was a little taken aback by the response. Food was good, a little heavy for my taste but I was too overwhelmed by the noise and the spotty service to really enjoy my meal.
