  • Not an impressive Birthday

We had reservations here to celebrate my fiancee's birthday. We arrived on time and had to wait for a table despite having a reservation for many days. Once we were seated, we were seated close to the bar, as if our reservation was not taken care of in advance. It was passed 1pm yet they still only had the brunch menu available. My fiancee was set on getting a Shepard pie. When we asked the waitress if this was possible, she immediately said no without even checking with the kitchen. About 10 min later, the table next to us received their food and got a Shepards pie. They had the same waitress serving their table. This was very upsetting as we specifically chose lunch at Cooper's for his birthday so he could have a Shepard's pie.

We were a group of friends there, enjoyed the noisy ambience. The happy hours menu wasn't full of options. There was a good collection off the happy hours menu, definitely counted as expensive high grade place. We also ordered take out food, it tasted good. Would definitely like to go back there but it's not in one off the of those places you can afford every other weekend.

This was my first visit to Cooper Pub. It was chosen for it's location, near to theaters. The food was GREAT, service attentive without being annoying; they even had a gluten free menu. The food arrived at the same time for everyone. All twelve people raved and gave it a thumbs up!

When my husband told me we were going to a pub in St. Louis Park, I had visions of a dark little hole in the wall joint, which was fine. What a surprise tho! Gorgeous, super high ceilings with paintings and carved moldings, long drapes, huge, beautiful bar. And the selections on the menu made it so hard to decide on just one thing. We were a group of eight celebrating a birthday and everyone was pleased. I had the walleye fish and chips that melted in my mouth, but the next time I'm having the smoked salmon hash. I tried my daughter's and it was amazing! Looking forward to our next visit!

We brought our son and daughter-in-law for dinner. She had never been to the Cooper, and she loved it. Our son had been there once before. We were seated in the separate room which is the reason the experience was so awesome. It is usually so noisy that it is hard to hear each other. Instead, it was a quiet and very pleasant dining experience. The food, as always, was great!!

On a Saturday night, after a movie, we were dismayed to discover that the restaurant we planned to eat at had an hour wait for a table. (It didn't take reservations.) In a situation like this, we have a short list of reliable standbys. A quick check on Open Table showed that The Cooper could get us in. We drove over and got seated immediately. We had a great server. My wife ordered a cocktail that he wasn't familiar with. She described it. The version he first brought wasn't quite right. He fixed it right away, no hassle. Our food was good, as we knew it would be - that's what makes The Cooper reliable.

First time dining at Cooper Pub and we were pleasantly surprised. The food is definitely more than pub grub! We had the signature fish & chips (huge serving, not greasy, and great fries) and the Nicoise Salad (excellent seared tuna, light dressing, fresh greens) as our entrees. We will definitely add Cooper Pub to our West End eatery list!

We have eaten here several times and have always had a very good meal. I'll grant you that it may not be gourmet, but then again you're paying $10-15per entree. Fish is especially good: walleye three different ways, salmon, seared tuna, and fish and chips. A couple of steaks , pot roast, corned beef and cabbage, lots of burgers. The curry special is surprisingly good, considering that this is supposed to be an Irish pub. At the end, share the three dessert special. Dinner, dessert, a couple of glasses of wine -- for about $50!! Can't beat it.

I come for the Reuben and my wife usually gets a burger. The corned beef on the Reuben for this particular occasion was slightly overcooked (a little dry), but was still very good. On my previous visit, it was absolutely perfect, the best Reuben I've ever had. I also love that you can choose from more options than just fries as an accompaniment. We had the mixed greens with a chive and onion vinaigrette, which is somewhat unique, but also very good. We were there on a Saturday, so it was very busy and took a little longer than usual to get service. They seem to have the biggest restaurant in the St. Louis Park West End area, so on the one hand, it's not terribly difficult to get a table, but on the other, it can also get quite loud.

Love Cooper, so this isn't my normal feeling, but this visit was cold and slow. We were by a window that radiated the cold from outside. The waiter did close the heavy blind when I asked and that helped a bit, but not an ideal seating experience. Then for some reason our food took forever, not the usual for Cooper, and they did get us complimentary dessert, so that was nice.

Had reservations for a Saturday night in December. Parking was a bit of an issue. Sat down right away. Service was OK. Noise was just about as high as I can tolerate. Drinks were a little light on the alcohol and the coke was flat. But the food was great. I had the steak. The best steak I've had in years. My wife had walleye. It was light and tasty. We will definitely go back there.

Halfway through out dinner, they started a trivia game. The speakers we awful and muffled. Every time the trivia host would talk, we'd have to stop our conversation. While I get the idea of generating something fun to bring in customers, this was the wrong place. People didn't go there to play a game. They went for a quiet dinner. Save the trivia for the bowling alley bar.

This was not my first time at Cooper's Pub, but what made it special was the tremendous service by Jessica, our waitstaff. Her friendliness, and right amount of attentiveness, is what should be the norm everywhere, but unfortunately is not always found. The food was good - had the fish and chips, of course - but I have come to expect that level of quality here. Typically enjoy the "wee lunch," which provides a smaller portion of many of the favorites, but opted for the full portion this time, which still was a reasonable sized portion. Nice pieces of cod, with minimal breading. So, good food, great help - what more can you want?!

Booked reservation through Open Table about a week in advance for a group of 10. We arrived on time and our table was ready. Great atmosphere however it can get rather loud at time and it is difficult when in a larger group to carry on conversations from one end of the table to another. The variety and price of the appetizers was great, and the taste of the food was fantastic. We do plan on having a happy hour there again!

I went there for lunch it was ok but not great. I didn't like the set up of the front door. Every time someone comes in you get a gust so cold air. The table legs were not your standard restaurant tables in the booth you had to lift your leg and slide in. For an older person it is not convenient. I had the walleye sandwich it was ok. I have had better walleye at other places. It was not cooked to perfection the breading was falling off the walleye and it fell apart.

Went here on 10/26/13 for dinner to celebrate wedding anniversary. Cooper Pub was close to Toby Keith's in West End which is where we were headed after dinner. I had been to Cooper before but just for drinks. The food was good, in general. However, my wife had the chicken salad and the chicken was dry and flavorless. She did not like it. I had the walleye sandwich-it was good. The other party we were with had the fish and chips and they said it was good also. Good irish whiskey and beer selection.

we started with the artichoke dip. Always a winner. My husband ordered the rueben sandwich - perfect choice for an Irish Pub. I ordered salmon ($18.00). What arrived was disappointing. It was a small portion of salmon topped with some crab meat. It wasn't crab imperial, it wasn't spiced with old bay. It was just kind of blah. They served it on a large white plate, so it looked dwarfed next to half a plate of salad that was spread out to make it look like it covered more of the plate. Consider removing the crab meat for a larger piece of salmon or do something with the crab. Also, how about green beans amondine or something else to dress up the plate. We will still go back; we like the restaurant. But I won't order the salmon.

The waitress even brought out a divine piece of chocolate cake for my daughter's birthday with a candle on it! The only thing that was sort of bothersome was the noise level, very loud, sometimes we couldn't even hear each other talk. Also it was very beautiful! Thanks!
