Food was good and out of ordinary which I like. But we were visiting Philly for the weekend so not familiar with the city at all, I didn't realize by looking at the address or even the website that this is located in some kind of convention center, pretty far from everything else. Probably great for business lunch ot dinner, but not what I was looking for for a night out with friends. Also not a fan of the cocktail list - this is clearly geared towards male clients (no fruity drinks for the ladies, good wines though). That said, the beignets that everyone raves about were delicious ;-)

I was disappointed here since I am a a big fan of Garces and have had outstanding meals at his other restaurants. I ordered the house made pickles and expected to get pickles, not cauliflour. I think if they are going to serve something unexpected, they should inform the guest when they order. I will say that the whole fish of the day, red snapper, was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was fine; just overall, the place did not impress me.

Soup was served cold. Shrimp was mushy and inedible. Waiter was very good when he was at our table, but getting him there was a problem. He had too many tables scattered all over the restaurant and therefore could not properly service our table. I have eaten at all of Garces' other Philadelphia restaurants, which I have enjoyed, but this one was a huge disapointment. I will never go back!

Food is dependably spectacular -- thoughtfully and tastefully prepared; beautifully plated. Never miss a chance to bring clients or colleagues travelling through 30th Street Station here for a business lunch -- it is a great first (and second and third) impression of Philadelphia. The plentiful and exquisitely structured eggplant hummus with fava beans is delightful to share while awaiting entrees. Grilled scallops, red and gold beet salad and parsnip ravioli are among favorites. Have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered here.

Went early on a Monday night so it was relatively quiet, and the service was pleasant. We enjoyed everything we ordered but especially the mushroom flatbread and the brussel sprouts. It is a great location for meeting people coming (or going) on the train, but it would also be a good destination for whenever!

Four of us ate here on a Saturday night, knowing it wouldn't be as crowded as it is during the week. We had a very knowledgeable waitress who answered every question we had on the menu without us even asking, plus handled all of our other questions on Jose Garces, his farm, and his habits, with extreme patience and grace. Impressive. The food was also very good, our favorites being the house made pickles, spare ribs, whole fish, and brussels sprouts. The only thing that left us a flat was the chocolate cake for 2 which came out cold and dry but as the proceeds go to the Garces Family Foundation, at least we felt good for ordering it.

The overall ambiance was good and the waitstaff was pleasant. The pricing was somewhat high. However, this was known, prior to making the reservation. The major complaint was that the entrees arrived, before we had the opportunity to finish our first courses. In my mind, that's a major faux pas for a restaurant. We had an early reservation and, in fact, were the only occupied table at the time. Perhaps that is why things were presented so quickly? At any rate, we felt that we were being rushed through our meal. I would recommend this restaurant for a Happy Hour type of experience, with drinks and munchies. I would not necessarily recommend it for dinner.

My husband and I ate here on New Years Eve. The had a fixed price menu that was honestly too much food for the two of us. I wish we had another couple with us or that we had come on a night when we could order off the regular menu because I hated to waste anything. All the food was delicious! They were very accommodating of the fact that I didn't eat meat and my husband did. They altered the menu some for me and made sure that I knew whether each dish that came to the table was vegetarian or not. This is not my favorite Garces restaurant (that is a tie between Tinto and Chifa) but it definitely lives up to the high standards in food, atmosphere and service that I would expect from one of his restaurants.

Went for New Year's Eve and absolutely loved it. Went with a total of 6 people and could not believe the amount of food we received. Almost made the rest of the night a wash because we were so full! Each course had 3 different dishes which they brought out multiplies of for the entire table. Basically every group of 2 was sharing each course and the plates were of a relatively nice size and all taste amazing. A very nice & decadent way to end 2012

We attended JG Domestic for their New Years Eve dinner which included two prix fixe tasting menu options. We decided on the $65/person option and were very pleased with our selection. The food was fantastic, and our server was wonderful. This is our second time to JG Domestic, and our servers both times have been amazing, very friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. The first time, the server helped us choose a new beer based on our tastes and it was perfect. This time, we had a great conversation with the server about many aspects of the Garces restaurants (she also serves at Garces Trading Company - one of our favorite dining spots in the city), and she was very helpful in explaining the differences in the menu options.

We celebrated New Year Eve with an early, 6:00 pm, dinner. We wanted to celebrate as a family, so we had 5 adults and 4 kids (3, 4, 11, 13). I called to see if they could accommodate the kids because I knew there was a tasting menu. They were happy to allow them to order individual items off the tasting instead of paying the full tasting price. We were sat in a room off to the side of the restaurant, which was perfect for our group. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. I love that our kids were able to try some outstanding food too!

The food and whiskey were great. It was certainly the best meal I've had in three or four outings to high-end restaurants. The service was also excellent. Our waiter was very helpful in choosing among the dozens of bourbons, American whiskeys, and ryes. So far I've tried 6 different whiskies over three visits (I plan for more, that is, more visits and probably more whiskies though I should also sample the craft beers). It was a pleasure to talk with the waiter about this fine, truly American libation. The waiter was also very helpful on food suggestions. I wasn't planning on getting the cheese soup for example, it didn't sound that good to me, but on their suggestion I was pleasantly surprised with this creamy concoction, it was marvelous.
