We went for lunch on Saturday . A special was pot roast which was very fatty . The sea scallops were great and the pasta with bolognese was inferior . One out of three , you expect more at the Four Seasons !!

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my mother's retirement with a family group. We arrived and sat for drinks in the comfortable lounge area full of low couches and chairs. We had a round of drinks while waiting for our table to be ready. We sat at a lovely table near the fireplace where all of our needs were expertly attended to. Each waitperson was impeccably trained as to when and how to approach the table. The service was truly extraordinary! Each course of food we ordered was expertly prepared and a treat to eat. My steak was melting in my mouth! I wish we would have stayed for the beautiful dessert service that was set up in the dining room. Had I known earlier, I would have included it in our plans. Dining at its best!

We went for the Burgers and Burgundy event on Wednesday night. The burgers are so gourmet and delicious. Mine came with foie gras, sauteed mushrooms and onions. My boyfriend got one with goat cheese and oven dried tomatoes. Both were amazing. The fries and wine pairings were also great. Our waiter was very friendly and let us enjoy a romantic date night. We got a sofa table by the fire, which was very intimate and special.

Great experience. A bit too expensive, but when you go to dinner at "the Four Seasons," that's part of the "charm." Tables are placed far enough away from each other that you can actually hear the people in your group and feel you have some privacy. Service was top-notch...attentive, but not hovering. Each of the four people in our party had something different for dinner and each of us was pleased with our duck, salmon, pasta and tuna entrees. Would recommend highly for an after-theatre dinner or other special occasion.

I had fish and chips, Friday's special ($29) but it was worst than any take out place. It was just the ambiance you pay for. I do not think I will go there again. Service was good very friendly but that is all, music was not my kind but that is debatable. I had better experiences before but I think that is it, too expensive for what you get for.

We took a friend to the Bristol Lounge to celebrate her 50th birthday. Unfortunately, having reserved through OpenTable and not having spoken to a staff member directly, we were not aware that the Lounge itself (with its comfy couches and homey atmosphere) was closed for renovations. We were redirected to the old location of Au'Jourdui upstairs. The change in venue was just fine as they seated us at a window table overlooking the Public Garden. Our friend loved the atmosphere and felt special. I didn't think the service was up to what I would have expected. We waited about 10 minutes for drink service. And though my guest's food was quite good, my salad was just o.k. Still a great event and I would go back.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 11/28/2009
We ate dinner at The Bristol lounge for a special occasion (birthday). We were seated next to the bar and that was a disappointment. The fine dining room has been closed at The Four Seasons. To me that is one of the main attractions of a hotel like The Four Seasons. The menu was not what we had expected, though I admit our palates are not as "adventuresome" as those of contemporary "foodies". The noise level in the bar was quite high due to 4 young and very loud women who were carrying on a conversation that reverberated through the entire dining area. I guess nothing can be done about that. Our waiter in contrast, was excellent and a textbook case for fine service. Haile was very skilled, providing service just before we realized the need.

Well, my daughter flew in from Europe for just the weekend and asked for only one thing: to please make a lunch reservation at the Bristol Lounge so that we could order their famous burger. Our meeting at the Bristol for a burger has been a tradition for years - but, alas, no longer. The Bristol burger, which used to be outstanding, was mealy, and sort of like a wannabe meatloaf. C'est la vie. We will start a new tradition elsewhere. But we are very surprised at the Four Seasons - their food quality used to be superb.

The Bristol Lounge was our first stop on a "Boston Best Burger Tour" and it made a great first impression. My son needs to eat gluten free and after a rocky start during the reservation process on the phone, greatly improved greatly in person. We brought a gluten free bun and the kitchen made crispy fries in the broiler, so his gluten free meal was as close to a true burger experience as you can get. The burger was delicious - despite its heart stopping price of $20 - and the accompanying truffle fries with wonderfully crisp. A true sign of their great service - my daughter and I order one onion soup gratinee to share and they split it in the kitchen for us - giving us each our own ramekin complete with the cheese covered crouton.
