Our Dinner here was sublime. The entire experience is wonderful but the best thing about it was the amazing food. The cold corn soup-- you couldn't have a lovelier summer starter, soothing, fresh and Beautiful at the same time. The Lemon Crusted Salmon, A level of perfection only a great chef could achieve.

Food and service was very good, food was tasty and very well prepared. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Our table was by the bar and we noticed a server for another table go behind the bar to make drinks because the bartender was talking with someone. It wasn't a big deal except for the fact that she cut her finger when slicing a lemon for the drink and continued to make the drinks. She kept wiping her finger off and showing the other servers what she did while she continued to pour the drinks. She actually tasted each she made by dipping a straw in each glass with finger over one end of straw pulling the straw out to taste. If you plan to order drinks I recommend getting a table close to bar so you can see your drink being made.

This is the second time that I have eaten at the Strand Bistro and - it was great. First of all the decor is so cool and comfortable. I love the art and the sense that you are in someone's home. I love the built-in bookcases. It has a very cool vibe, without being overly trendy. We had the nicest waiter and he knew the correct time to come over and ask us if we needed anything. Not overly attentive - perfect. The food is surprising good. The tuna, which was served on top of a bed of perfectly sauteed spinach, was perfectly cooked. The waiter suggested a lovely Rose - which was the perfect pairing for the Tuna. The prices are very reasonable by New York standards. This will be my go to restaurant.

Food is delicious! Went for the restaurant week menu. Cheesecake spring roll dessert was good but way too sweet so i was only to eat half! Now for the worst part... This place was unbearably cold! We had to ask if they can lower the air conditioning but it hardly made a difference. I went with a group of 4 and we all had the goosebumps at the end of dinner! Great food but couldnt enjoy the atmosphere due to temperature!

I discovered this place online and quickly booked a reservation. I ordered the first course of chilled corn soup was creamy with crunchy sweet corn and fresh tomato Ice, and I would have eaten three bowls of it. My partner had the Peach Salad which was fresh, beautifully presented and the textures of grilled peaches and crunchy ricotta, bitterness of arugula and sweetness of balsamic was perfect. The roasted salmon had a crunchy outside and moist perfect inside. The chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream was the perfect ending to our wonderful dining experience. I am disappointed by James Beard winning restaurants but this place exceeded my expectations and if I lived in NYC, I would be a regular there Someone get this Chef an Award

Strand Bistro at the Strand Hotel is not in the most lively neighborhood, and the area lacks good restaurant options--but this spot stands out. I was going to an off-broadway show in the area and wanted to eat nearby afterward. Strand looked like our best option and it met my expectations. It was l fairly quiet at 9 o'clock on a Saturday evening but the service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious, all for a reasonable price. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go back (because of the neighborhood--I don't frequent it often; only if I'm going to Penn Station) but if I'm in the area and need a place to eat, this would be my go-to spot.

Our meal was fantastic! We were in NY to celebrate my wife's birthday and had a great time at this wonderfull restaurant. I had the foie gras apetizer which was served with Raspberry reduction and peanut butter along with a special Mussels main course both out of this world. My wife was less aventurous and had the steak which was cooked exactly to her liking which she enjoyed . Desert with a candle was very appreciated. Waiter was very attentive and described the dish perfectly.

Ate here twice while staying at the hotel. An early dinner before the theater was marred only by the noise from the bar (happy hour moved downstairs due to a private event in the rooftop bar). Mussels outstanding as was the spring vegetable pasta. Breakfast very nicely prepared with some choices beyond the usual. Prices very reasonable given quality of food. Dining room ver pleasant with a large fish tank. Roof top bar fun and view is great though you take your chances on the music.

This was my fourth time at the strand bistro and I have always had great food, and this time was no exception. This visit was during the spring on a nice hot day , so the weather was good and the temperature was high, so when they called to confirm the reservation I asked if shorts was allowed, it was, and we got the same service as every other in the restaurant. This was my first mothers day so it was special. The food was outstanding, I consider myself a vegetarian simply because I rarely like meat my father orthered steak & potatoes and made me have the steak, i was the best piece of meat I have ever had. The Corn Soup was delish!! and the flan was do die for! I NEED to go back soon. :)

We were looking for something interesting but not outrageously priced near times square, and when i saw lobster risotto on the strand bistro menu, i knew i could be happy going there. The delightful flavors of this dish more than lived up to its description, but so did everything we ordered! My fellow diners greatly enjoyed the calimari, the salmon, the braised chicken and the steak - which all sound very typical but which all brought unique flavors and presentation to the table. A little taste of warm fallen chocolate cake and cheesecake canolis made for a wonderful finish. We will be back for the wonderful food, pleasant service and easy going atmosphere near the warm springtime fireplace!
