We had a great meal, in very comfortable surroundings. Food was delicious. Several people in our group had the burger. It looked great and they all said it was excellent. I had the fish special for lunch. I can't rememebr what fish it was, but it was a white fish and it was excellent. We ate on the Brasserie side and the prices were very reasonable given the quality, excellent service, and location that was in close proximity to the Sheraton in downtown Montreal where we were attending an industry conference. I would go out of my way to return to Decca the next time I go back to Montreal.

We lucked out....this is one of our favourite places for lunch, but it felt like the room was short staffed, and we felt unattended to until I pointed out the problem....but that doesn't account for the bottle of sparkling water....at room temperature. But it still is one of my favourite places for lunch, even though it can be a bit noisy.

I entered the restaurant while travelling solo. I wasn't one to normally go fine dining on my own but that is in the past. The kitchen was ON (that is all CAPS on purpose); the staff were approachable and knowledgeable; I felt as if they were part of my experience. The room was filled with paintings that I wanted to take home and wine rooms that I would love to spend some time in. I highly recommend this whether you are alone or in a group. It is definitely ready for any foodies and will the food will impress.

I'm anything but a cheapskate when it comes to dining, however, if you have a table d'hote (fixed price menu) on your website, and when people arrive they're told 'it's only for lunch' -- that's misleading. In fact, the table d'hote is a very attractive price -- $35.00 for three courses, and we picked Decca 77 partially for this reason as we were with out two kids, so it was a reasonable place for dinner. When we sat down, we inquired about the menu, and were advised it was only available at lunch. No such mention made on the website, and in fact, reviews I had read mentioned what a great deal it was. Other than that, the food was fine, service was good, but even while I may not have ordered off the table d'hote, it is misleading.

I went for supper on a Friday night with my cousin (we are 2 women, late 20's). We ate on the brasserie side which has a different menu than the restaurant side. The food was fantastic & well-priced. Barmaid & waiters provided great service and we had an overall fantastic experience. However, we were the only ones in the entire restaurant from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm, and although it was nice to hear eachother speak without screaming over other people / music, etc. we really would've liked to be among a crowd of people...not a hotspot for single ladies to meet someone or to socialize with anyone. But definitely would go back for a supper with friends.

Very good dining experience, although a bit pricey for the culinary level (my guess is that rent must be brutal). The restaurant is enjoyable. My one comment would be to make sure you get the correct "restaurant" option you prefer. Having never been to the restaurant before and traveling with people, I assumed that we were given the brasserie menus, as we noted in the reservation - but were not. The restaurant menu is quite different and more expensive. Not bad, but not what we had booked and an awkward situation to correct when traveling with other people.

We've gone to Decca 77 for lunch and for dinner; because of its downtown location. It's a good location for us when we have a downtown appointment nearby. The parsnip soup is one of our favourites. I liked the fact that we could talk without needing to shout above the din.

We took the tasting menu which was amazing. Delicious. We had a chance to meet the chef to give him feedback which was nice. However it was really expensive. The waiter told us that the wine pairing was included and served us a first glass of wine, then came back saying that it was actually an extra 45$ for the wines (food is 80$ on it's own)He still charged us that glass of wine even if we told him that the wine pairing wasnt going to work with our budget, it was too late, we had already started that glass. The restaurant was empty and the waiter was disinterested. The kitchen being open we could hear all the random conversations of the cooks, in a setup like theirs they should be careful with that.

  • Not a fine-dining experience!
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 4/6/2013
This was a disappointment. After reading the recommendation in Air Canada's En Route magazine, reviewing the menu and reading patron reviews, we believed we were in for a very elegant, fine dining experience. It was far from it. This is a tourist haunt with moderate food and average service - not the "culinary experience" we were hopeful to receive. The restaurant is next to the Bell Centre in Montreal and caters to fans attending big events. If you want a decent meal, quickly in-and-out, enjoy Decca 77. If you are anticipating a high-end, fine dining experience - go elsewhere. Don't waste your time and energy here.

Good food, but not exceptional. The disappointment was the appetizer- calamari, which was greasy and over cooked. Steaks and fries - all cooked well, with abundant fries, but a little veg on the side would be nice. The "private collection only" wine cellar makes the restaurant very appealing for some, but less so for couples wanting a good meal with a bottle or two of one of their favourite wines. Our dinner for 4 was $300 tax and tip included, given the bottle we were "suggested" ran $57. Our meals were 4 steak/ fries dinners, 1 appetizer & 2 Irish coffees. Hardly a bounty of food for this type of price. The brasserie side has an interesting menu, but we were not given any of the choices on this menu. Very ordinary evening.
