The reason why we chose this restaurant was because it was close to the Broadway Theatres. They do have a 3 course price fixe option. The food was okay but considering it has Todd English's name on it and it is located in the Intercontinental Hotel, I was expecting better. Our reservations were between lunch and dinner and the restaurant was very quiet. Despite the lack of diners, the service was not very attentive. The food was only average. The mushroom risotto I chose was too salty and rich for my taste. The portions sizes were however generous. I would only recommend this restaurant if one was looking for a place that was close to the Al Hirschfield Theatre.

Good location for many theaters. Nice lounge if you wish to hang out before dinner. Excellent escargot appetizer, Is certainly enough for two and could serve as an entree if you aren't really hungry. MY wife had the mussels and they were great and more than we could eat. My scallops were a bit over done and the hash browns were a bit on the soggy side, but all flavors were great. From what we could see most of the portions were very generous so watch when ordering. Wine list a bit pricey, I suggest a cocktail. Nice spot and would return.

When in New York City we stay at the Intercontinental for the great location and because Ca Va Brasserie is there. The food never disappoints, always innovative, traditional French food with a a new edge attitude. Beautifully presented with just the right balance of texture and taste that tantalizes the senses. We have eaten there for breakfast, brunch, lunch, pre-theater, and dinner...not a single time have we left disappointed. The morning crowd is family oriented but I would say the evenings are more for adults as the business crowd comes in after work as well as those gathering for a drink and a quick bite before a Broadway show. Always a good idea to make reservations...you won't be disappointed.

We are always pleased when dining here. The kitchen constantly surprises in a very pleasing way. Add to that the fantastic pre-fixe menu always available and this is a west side eatery hard to beat.

When looking for a place to make a last minute reservation for a pre-theater dinner, we found Ca Va to be available, and were surprised at the fact that it was so empty. It's a beautiful spot, menu with a variety of choices, and conveniently located just west of 8th Avenue. Being Todd English fans, we knew it would be a good choice, and we were not disappointed. For a quick meal, we shared a salad, and they brought out 2 beautfully arranged salads for us. Even the roast chicken I ordered because I loved the accompaniment, was excellent. Will certainly come here again.

Info implies it serves breakfast; it doesn't. It provides a really poor excuse of a buffet. Do not go there; go to any of the other breakfast places in the neighborhood. Also, you'll be able to feed 4 for the price of one buffet charge. Overpriced and inedible to boot.

We arrived an hour earlier than our reservation, at 4:30, in time to watch the soccer game - US vs Belgium - and we were seated at a table where we had drinks and were able to watch the game. At 5:30, we ordered our dinner in order to be ready for the 7:00 show. We ordered the sea bass and salmon, both delicious! The dessert, a plum tart, was outstanding. This is a definite find, lovely ambiance, service, and delicious food.

Food was mediocre at best. I ordered an octopus appetizer and the host/manger came over to ask how I was enjoying it because it was it's first night on the menu. I responded that I thought it was tough, over salted, and over seasoned. I only commented because he asked about the dish. Up until then, I was enjoying the restaurant and was just disappointed with this appetizer. What made the experience more negative was the reaction of the host/manager. Basically no reaction, just a smirk as he walked away from our table. My feeling is that if you don't care what your guest thinks, don't ask.

Our table was unavailable until 7 for a 6:30 reservation. Brian, the manager, apologized profusely as we waited and offered a round of drinks. Had he not compensated us in some way for their overbooking, we would never return. Brian came by repeatedly, but unobtrusively, to check on us. He delivered a tray of desserts gratis. Waiter was attentive, competent, friendly, relaxed and upbeat. The hostess was warm, smiling, and apologetic. Dinners delicious and artistically plated. My grilled octopus and sautéed mushrooms (both appetizers) were luscious. Prosecco by the glass was dry and fresh. We will definitely return because we were treated with respect for our time. My water glass was refilled quickly and the bread was delicious.

Much better than my first visit last year. Stopped for pre-theater dinner (opens at 5PM) - dined solo with dessert at a comfortable pace and was out in plenty of time for my 7PM show. Excellent Beet Carpaccio (red and golden beets) followed by sea bass over wilted greens. Ice cream assortment for dessert and an espresso. My only complaint was that the greens has enough red pepper flakes in it to over-power the wonderful fish (and my wine). I just ate around the greens. I'll go back.

The food here was good but I just wasn't crazy about the ambiance. The restaurant is open to the lobby bar so it's a little too bright and noisy for my tastes.

At the tip of the theater district, Ça Va Brasserie got us out in time for the theater, at a relaxed pace, even though we were 15 minutes late for our reservation. The food was terrific - we took advantage of the 3 course prix fixe - and the cocktails were creative and delicious. I had my first soft shell crab of the season - they were plump and moist, and nicely fried. Attractive decor, with a beautiful flower arrangement at the front entrance. I definitely plan to return - next time without theater tickets - so I can thoroughly enjoy the dining experience.

We frequent this restaurant every 1-2 months or so, and really enjoy the food. However, the service continues to decline. On a Friday night at 8PM, we were one of maybe 4 tables occupied. It's a shame, really. I come back for the food. Bacon wrapped sea scallops with shaved truffles, truffle hash browns, and spinach was thoughtfully prepared and tasted wonderful. Once we sat down, we waited 20 minutes to place our order. After another 25 minutes, the drinks and appetizers came at the same time. Again, there were maybe 4 tables occupied. I'd like to enjoy some of my cocktail before having the appetizer (especially when you see it sitting at the bar for 10 minutes). The entrees came rather quickly after our apps were complete.

The food was outstanding. We had Sea Bass and Salmon. The meals were really delicious. The specialty drinks were great too! The service was great from our waiter. He was conscious that we had theater tickets and assured us we had time to relax. The busboy seemed a bit annoyed that we were relaxing over our plates by finishing every bit of sauce/flavor we could with the bread. He wanted to clear the table.

I have always gone to red lobster, TGIF, Apple bees, and uno and so forth because it was within my budget. But recently, I landed a career that allow me to afford finer restaurant like Todd English's. Plus, I saw Todd English at one of the food network show and I said I have to try one of his restaurant but eventually his restutant moved, so I decided to tried the Cava Brasserie restaurant and I loved it. I'll be back very soon for that sea bass entree. I have to. They didn't have it anymore when I went but I'll be back.
