A word from Chez Pierre Bistro
Chez Pierre Bistro is an authentic French Bistro, one everybody wishes they had in their neighborhood. Most of the dining is in the charming covered patio where the ambiance is intimate, friendly and always very professional. Prepared by Chef Pierre with the knowledge, passion and respect of the seasonal ingredients from the farmer’s market, the food is superb. The specials on the blackboard are impressive, unusual and follow the seasons. In winter you can find Chef Perre’s famous cassoulet to wild game; In the spring shad roe and soft shell crabs; and in the summer you can find paella, steak tartar, and pomme frites.

It’s no surprise that Chez Pierre has been voted The Best French Restaurant of the Desert for the past six years and has been rated “Dining Excellence” by Zagat and Gayot.

You may be tempted to sign up in Chef Pierre’s cooking classes every Monday followed by lunch.

Bon Appetit!

We were a little disappointed in the new, moved restaurant. The menu only has a few things on it. The best part was the beignets we had for dessert. We will wait awhile before we go back.

If you love delicious authentic French cuisine, if you love a place that is elegant but makes you feel like family, then Chez Pierre is the place for you. You'll have to wait until September, when he reoopens at his new location, but it will be worth it! Appetizers: Onion Tart & Goat Cheese, (enough for four people to have a good taste and it comes cut into quarters!), Homemade Lamb Sausage, (was a special for that day), savory with a spicy mustard. Dinners: Sand Dabs, Veal Pot Roast, Beef Bourguignon on homemade noodles, Veal Kidney with mustard sauce. Desserts: Creme Brulee, Beignets with caramel & chocolate sauces, Tart Tatin. Everything was, in a word, "Perfection"! This restaurant, and Pierre himself, are second to none! Don't miss it!

Chez Pierre is superior to anything else I have been going to here in the Choachella Valley. There are several restaurants with great food, top amd top service, but no one comes close to the personal attention you get from the chef and owner of Chez Pierre, Pierre himself. I went to Chez Pierre the very first time last week. My wife and I reserved a table for 5:30 PM (early for dinner), but it was already filling-up fast. Here is why Chez Pierre in different; basically everbody who came for dinner was a regular. Pierre, a very french chef, was personally greeting, small talking, and joking with his guests. It felt like we were invited to a private party somewhere in a little town near Paris. We loved it very much.

The food was outstanding, as good as it gets. Unfortunately, the service was lackluster. We got the specials and the menu and then sat around for a long time to get our order. We asked for water and that took a long time. The timing between first and second course was poor. The restaurant was not that busy so it should have been much better service. When the food is outstanding the service should match.

The service was good and the owner/chef's wife charming, (she came over to the table and asked how everything was.) But the veal picatta was not the best I've had. I suppose we would have done better with a different dish. The complimentary pate was wonderful and the chocolate mousse rich, delicious and gratis because it was my friend's birthday. So, that was a nice touch. The Spa Menu and Prix Fixe Menu were not offered, however, they do appear on their website and that was a disappointment.

This is a rather mediocre French bistro at best. Sauces are bland, portions are small for the price, and the service is nothing special. The menu hasn't changed in years and the chef seems uninspired. The wine list is marginal. Have never really understood the generally high ratings. Maybe it's because of the limited number of French bistros in the Coachella Valley.

From the moment we were greeted by the wife of Pierre and told he would come to the table to discuss what he could prepare for me we know it would be a lovely evening. He did just that as well a provide my own pate and celery so I too could partake of this silken delight! Seafood was perfectly cooked. Wine provided a wonderful paring. Very personal feeling as the waitstaff arrives with the board to go over the special for the evening. Vegetables could have been less done but minor! Look to the left as you face Trader Joes, restaurant is set back and slightly hidden, worth finding!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

The food was pretty good, but not outstanding. It was nice that the chef came out and visited at the tables, but otherwise the service was inattentive. (For example, our group of five finished the first bottle of wine in the first 20 minutes of the evening and we were never asked if we wanted a second bottle.) The biggest disappointment was the ambience. The restaurant is wedged into the corner of shopping mall near a large chain grocery store. The dining area is mostly outdoors on concrete patio. It is great to be able to sit outside, but the space lacks charm. If this were a reasonably priced hamburger place I would have liked the set up, but for a restaurant at this price point it doesnt measure up.

We ate at Chez Pierre for the first time on Sunday night and we will be back. We had heard good things about the restaurant and they were all true. The service was great, the food perfectly prepared and all for what we thought was a reasonable price. It is located in an off the beat area but the ambience was very enchanting. We have already recommended it to a few of our friends.

We met friends there, introducing them to the restaurant. I had the fresh orange roughy which was prepared to perfection. Hubby had steak au pauve which he said was a bit strong for him. We shared a carafe of wine which was also very good. We enjoyed not being rushed as we visited with our friends. The waiter was very patient with us. I HAD to have the tart tatin for dessert and was not disappointed. Excellent. Everyone enjoyed the food . We will return again next year when we come back to the desert.
