Stopped by Dining Days. We were at a small table for two with similar tables on each side. If those tables were filled we would have felt crowded. Our waiter was amazing and added immeasurably to the success of our evening. His name was John Kennedy and he was knowledgeable, humorous, and efficient. John hit the gold standard for us and that is a waiter that we will ask for by name when we return! The Dining Days menu was four courses and everything was excellent. Between the two of us we sampled bruschetta, salad, pizza, steak, chicken, and two great deserts. Everything was prepared just as it should be. As everyone notes the beer list is amazing. Definitely something for everyone. We had an excellent experience!

Tons of beer - but I'm not a beer aficionado. Me and some friends went for the University City Dining Days and had 4 course meals for $30/person. The food was amazing but it took a while for our food to come out. That's my only gripe. There was live music but he had a short set. Their classic margherita pizza is outstanding and a must try.

The Thursday night special was outstanding. Our waiter, Ryan, did a great job of suggesting brews to try. We'll be going back, and I love the part about their keeping track of the brews I liked. It'll be fun to see if they bring me my favorite without asking when I return!

Food was unmemorable. We went specifically for restaurant week and the menu advertised on the website was VERY different from that menu presented to us in the restaurant. (in a disappointing way) The restaurant is loud and bustling... it's pretty but in an industrial, Cheesecake Factory-reminiscent kind of way not to my taste. I'm not inclined to return.

Although the food was quite good, the restaurant did everything in its power to make our dining experience less than enjoyable. We went during University City dining days and this might have brought in more business than anticipated. Even though there were plenty of empty tables, they closed down sections of the restaurant so that diners were sitting too close to each other. Then a large party (17 people is what our waiter told us) were seated ahead of us and this impacted the timing of our food. Either our waiter was inexperienced or was pulled into this large party because he disappeared for large periods of time and kept us waiting for everything. Finally he kept calling us "young lady" in a condescending manner.

Fantastic beer list - my favorite was a hybrid tripel/ imperial IPA, organic maybe the saison dupont. Much more modern decor than I expected (I saw no pictures before I went). Good outside area on a roof above street level. Loud in the bar but not loud outside.

Went to City Tap House for University Restaurant Week. They had a 4 course selection for $30. I must say I have done a lot of the Restaurant weeks and this has to be the most diverse and most choices I've ever seen on a menu. City Tap House has a great beer list and whats better they allow you to keep a record of all the beers you've tried/how you rate them so the next time you visit you know what you liked/disliked. The service was very attentive and resourceful. Their pizza oven ended up overheating from all the pizzas they were doing for the special but the staff handled it great and were very accomodating. The even bought us a round of drinks for having to wait. Great time, great good, worth going again when its not restaurant week

We were making a return trip, this time for dining days. The draft beer list remains oustanding. The food was solid, not as good as last trip, but it is easy to understand that the prix fixe was more basic than some of their menu choices can be. The bruschetta was very good and the wings were tasty. After having great service our prior trip, it was poor this time. We asked to sit outside but were not which is fine but not even a "sorry but" offered. We did not receive one of the courses and were sitting for probably an hour waiting for what did come. We were overcharged in the first bill presented. Our waiter fixed that problem, and we took the missed course home, but very surprised by the problems. May just be dining days extra load.

Love the place, its fun and the food is consistently good. Been there more than a few times - for lunch and dinner. The apps and salads are all so good - had them all. Crispy gulf oysters are amazing. And the pizzas are so creative and delicious. Try the Tartufo pizza. Wow. The Angeline mussels are my favorite. My husband loves the organic chicken and the achiote tuna entres. Burgers are really good and my friends say they veggie burger is the best they ever had. An exceptional selection of beers on tap. Wait and bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable - very helpful when trying to decide between so many excellent options. Inside is beautiful, huge bar, comfy dining. Outdoor seating with fire pits tops it off perfectly.

my little brother and I sat outside on the terrace which had a cute little rooftop garden. I am not a beer drinker but found the selection to be irresistable and I tried two different types that were very good. the food was also very delicious. we shared an order of wings, sweet potato fries, and crab cakes. the crab cakes were made exactly how they should be with lots of crab meat and no fillers to take away from the taste. alhough the restaurant was very busy, our server was quite kind and attentive. she even suggested a dessert that we both enjoyed. I will undoubtedly be back!

This is a definite for return. The draft beer list is long and has some very good mostly US craft selections. It is not an outstanding list from top to bottom, but with as many as they have on tap you will find more than one of interest. The food that was good was really good -- try the striped bass. Chicken however was quite dry. Our server, Derek, was world class. The outside area was bigger than I thought from online. It started out leisurely at 7 and got hopping and loud by 9 on a Friday. Great beer, good food, excellent service, nice outside seating.

My boyfriend & I chose City Tap as the place to celebrate our 3 year anniversary-& we couldn't have picked better! As a Drexel Alumni, he was able to take advantage of a special "Open Bar" happy hour, which gave us a chance to try many of the beers they had on tap--did I mention there were 60 of them?! The weather was perfect so we spent a good part of our night on the roof deck terrace. When it came time to eat, we were seated at a table inside their lovely dining room. The architecture & atmosphere were really fantastic. I had the chicken-which was juicy, tender, and DELICIOUS. He had the salmon & was equally impressed. I read several sour reviews before making this reservation-but I couldn't disagree more! Overall A+! We will be back!

Good food, good service and still working out some kinks. There were some inconsistencies. The $6 sweet potatoe fries were very small. It seemed like about half the french fries included with a $10 burger. The salads were huge, easily appretizer for two or three. The fennel salad could use less bibb and more filling, but was good and fresh. The server was pleasant and at the end, overly attentive. Overall, we enjoyed it and will go back! A great spot when attending the Annenberg - easy street parking, great location and easy walk to the theater!
