Roberts has great food and a very friendly staff. We've been going there since they opened and have never been disappointed. There is only a couple dining choices in Kittery without having to travel to Portsmouth. One thing I didn't mention is that the drinks are very good, the bartender puts together creative specials, which are not overly sweet.

The Tuesday Community Dinner was a great meal for an incredibly reasonable price and helps out a community organization to boot. The service was wonderful the food came to the table quickly and the ambiance was very friendly. We had a great time and helped out Great Works Regional Land Trust to boot!

  • Robert's Tues. night dinners
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

We went to the Tues night special dinner. The 3 course meal was outstandng. You can eat all 3 courses and still be part of the "clean plate club". This is the 5th or 6th time we've taken in the Tues night specials and there have been no regrets. The noise level however, is a bit high and makes conversation a little troublesome. We sat at a table for 5 in the corner and we were all leaning forward trying to hear each other speak. The conversation made its way around the table via a relay system. As the restaurant emptied the noise level did drop some. Waitress was very attentive and the cost of the meal was very very good for what you got. I highly recommend.I might add that they are proud members of the Green Alliance and Buy Local.

This was the second time that we have gone to Robert's. Our first experience was really amazing and the food was amazing. This second time around our experience wasn't as good, the service was very slow, the food came out somewhat warm, and our waiter got our order wrong the first time around. Even though that was the case this last time, we still would go back. I would say it was more than likely do to the high volume of people dinning that night *Valentine weekend/ Saturday night* The parking can be a little tight and hard to find space, but the views and the charm of Robert's makes it worth it.

After two wonderful visits we were looking forward to another special night at Roberts, it was a dissapointing evening. We started with drinks and the waitress took my wine order, even explained the unique local Maine wine, but did not ask my husband what he would like. After she brought my wine (which was lovely). She began to leave when we had to grab her to give her his order and our starter order, when the starter, delicious steamers, was delivered my husband still did not have his drink! The food deliverer seemed irritated when we asked if they knew when he would get his drink, which we finally got 45 minutes after it eas ordered. Food was wonderful, a little cold as was the service, not the best value for a $120 evening.

We had a fantastic meal on a busy New Year's Day. The garlicky kale soup was unique and delicious. The clam chowder was rich, thick and creamy. The lobster bruschetta app was delicious and HUGE-glad I ordered it as my meal! Other entrees enjoyed were the swordfish special with capers, the iceberg wedge and although I can't recall what my husband ordered, I do know that it was delicious. The bite sized gluten free coconut lime cheesecake was delicious (but bigger than bite sized!) and it was served with fresh cream. The special chocolate bundt cake was served with ice cream and fresh cream and included nutmeg and ginger. My son's bite sized brownie sundae was gone before I could ask if it was good. EVERYTHING was GREAT- even coffee!

Food was cooked perfectly. Wife had haddock picatta and Kale soup. Excellent! I had crab cakes, clam chowder and a large lobster roll with sweet potato fries. Best chowder and lobster roll I've ever had, and being a 39 year old NewEnglander I've had quite a few. The oversized hotdog roll tasted homemade (tasted like brioche?). The best part of our experience however was the service. From reception to the server it was great. I believe our servers name was Hugo. He was professional and attentive, but not intrusive. We will be back. By the way it was very easy booking a reservation through OpenTable.

Robert's was participating in Portsmouth Restaurant Week when we ate there, so it was busy. However, our server was very attentive despite having several tables to attend to. The food was to die for! The blueberry cobbler, in particular, was divine. My husband's order was messed up, but he was so oblivious that he didn't notice until half way through the meal! Regardless, it was delicious and our server threw in a dessert to make up for it. It really says something about the food and service if an order can get messed up and we still give it a 5 star rating! I love how so much of the food is local and the restaurant takes extra measures to be "green". We can't wait to go back!

what happened to Robert's menu? i hadn't been there in a few months, and now the option to have a piece of fish simply grilled is no longer on the menu. this was never a destination restaurant, but i always knew i could there for a fresh piece of fish and some steamed veges and feel like i'd had a healthy meal. now everything's prepared (with sauces or breading or whatever) and no plain fish option is available? since when does a place sell itself as a "Grill" and not offer simply grilled food as an option?! we won't be back until they bring plain grilled seafood back as an offering.

We found the atmosphere warm, beachy, and on a scale of 1-10 we would give it a 9! The food however was ok-surprisingly actually. My pasta was as though it sat under a heat lamp and my piccata tasted more like marsala. We did not care for the crackers and spread before dinner. Rolls w/ an herb butter would have been nice. Over all rating on food would be a 6. The delivery of food was fast! So much for a night out dining experience, it felt as though we were across the street at the take out portion of Bob's. Parking was an issue too. The service was good-our wait person was friendly, and professional. All in all, we would give it a 2nd chance.

MY husband and I were vacationing in Kittery, Maine last week and came across Robert's Maine Grill by chance one afternoon and decided to make a reservation for that same evening. From the outside Robert's is well-kept and provides a good photo op with the lighthouse and water nearby. Once inside, we loved the clean, white decor and the friendly staff. While the staff wore mostly jeans, my husband and I felt quite comfortable in less casual attire. We started our meal with oysters and fried cheese curd. So good!!! The oysters came with a blueberry reduction and a tomato horseradish and my husband loved them! The fried cheese curd is our new favourite appetizer! We had the lobster roll and beef tips for our main and truly loved both:)

Robert's Maine Grill was a great find. The food was very good and the seafood was very tasty and fresh. We had the clambake which turned out to be a great option for multiple people and the lobsters were really good. We also really liked the fact that any dessert could be ordered "bite size" so you didn't feel you had to finish a large dessert. Our waitress was excellent -- she gave us great advice about food options and checked up on us often without making it feel like we were being pushed to eat faster.
