This has become my favorite Italian place in the DC area. I love the food, the people and the outside dining was so awesome with the temperature change. Thanks for a wonderful night.

Did not honor 1 dessert per 2 people for "free dessert night" when purchasing a family-style dish. Also we were told family portion was enough for 4 people - but it's closer to 3. Otherwise, the food was good, ambiance was nice outside, and service was fine.

Food was very good, good value, too. One order was very late getting to the table and the waiter could have handled it better. Once he reported that there had been a mix-up, we didn't see him again for another 5-10 minutes. So, the diner whose food was late didn't start eating until the rest of us were almost finished. It would have gone a long way if he had checked in or offered her a little something for her wait. But, all in all, it is a good spot, very friendly.

  • As usual, Argia's comes through

As usual, Argia's comes through with an exceptional dinner. The Arugala salad w/ lemon vinegarette, Ricotta, grape tomatoes and Kalamata Olives is one of my favorites; very fresh, crisp, and flavorable. The steak was done just right w/ a light cherry glaze sauce. The green beans were fresh and done al dente'. The mashed potatoes were a rare treat for me but wonderfully fluffy and lightly seasoned. The family portions are plenty for 2 to 3 people. Although their wine list has alot of variety, anyone one who appreciates and knows wine knows that they have a considerable mark-up. The chocolate desert was decadent but light. The service was prompt although I usually taste a wine before drinking. I have never had a bad meal at Argia's.

Went to Argia's on a Sunday evening. Weather was great so we decided to eat on their patio. Very rundown and not appealing since we were looking at trash dumpsters in the parking lot. Food was average but did come piping hot right out of the oven. Pasta was homemade and so was sauce/meatballs. Service was a little slow.

We went for restaurant week lunch and it was a great choice! The portions were large enough for leftovers and the food was amazing. I recommend the watermelon salad, the flavors pop. We shared everything so we could try 6 different courses. They were all amazing! I will definitely go back to Argia's!

My friend and I went during restaurant week and had a great experience. Argia's was offering a three-course prix fix dinner and there were plenty of selections. Each course was delicious: we both ordered the goat cheese appetizer and veal flank main course, but had different (both wonderful) desserts -- chocolate mousse cake and tiramisu. We each needed to ask for doggy bags, there was so much food. The service was impeccable; we lingered over good conversation during each course and the wait staff did not rush us at all. I think we stayed 2 1/2 hours and came close to closing the place. My husband and I come here often and have never had a bad experience.

First of all, it took us almost 20 minutes to find parking (the parking lot behind the restaurant was completely full), then it took almost 15 minutes before a server even approached us. My mussels appetizer was good, but pizza and salad were mediocre at best. The place was VERY loud and not enjoyable at all. I doubt we will return.

We dined early (6:00 PM) on a Friday evening--the inside restaurant was about 20% occupied, yet the hostess wanted to seat us in a completely empty room of the restaurant. That seemed odd. it was surprising that wine was not available by the carafe or half-carafe, only by the glass or bottle, even for the house wines. The "solo" first course of calamari was good, but huge--large enough for 4 people to share--wonder how large the "familia" portion is? My husband ordered the pasta with spicy sausage and said it was quite good. I ordered the fettucine with funghi, which was good although it had far too many mushrooms for me (and I love mushrooms.) Can't comment on dessert as we did not have any. Overall it was a pleasant evening out.

It was very noisy and lots of kids in the restaurant. Not a romantic spot. Service was weak. Got water spilled on me, had to ask about specials, had to ask for bread. Asked for window seat in advance, but did not receive it.

The mussels are delicious! We were drinking the broth like soup. Our server was great, attentive and friendly. The pasta (chicken and something else) was just so so but we had enough room for the dessert - it's their signature that was featured on a local magazine. The dessert was delicious! We dined not in the main area next to the bar but in the adjoining room. We had a great table by the window and had the room pretty much to ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. I would describe the atmosphere as a good place to eat with friends or for a casual 3rd or 4th date.

We arrived early and were seated immediately. After looking at the wine list my husband asked to taste 2 wines. They brought him a small glass of each. A rarity in restaurants in Northern Virginia! We had a party of 7 people, including 3 children and ordered the kids meals first. The kids meals were delivered promptly and there were no complaints! My meal was one of the specials (shrimp, zucchini, asparagus, red pepper, cream sauce, fresh pasta) it was excellent! Everyone else loved their choices.
