We have never been disappointed in the food or quality of service. It's the perfect place to enjoy with friends on the weekend or alone during the week. Owner/Chef Neal's talent along with his attention to detail makes Petit Rouge run like a top with consistancy.

The decor is nice and it resembles a real parisian bistro ambience; the service is decent but the food is not all that great. As part of the Miami spice menu we had the Salade de cresson et d'endives, the escargot, the duck and the skirt steak. The salad was probably the best of all the courses; the escargot wasn't fresh even though the sauce it came in was pretty good, the duck was pretty much just fried and tasteless and the skirt steak tasted just ok. As dessert we had the ginger and peach sorbet which was rather blend and Just weird. The check for two, plus a couple of iced teas and a glass of wine was over $100. Yes, it feels like the 6th arrondissement but when you have fallen on a Latin quarter tourist trap. Pretty decent wine list.

  • Preserving French Bistro Tradition
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007VIP
    Dined on 8/13/2011
We've dined at Petit Rouge three or four times since they opened, and it's doing a great job of keeping the traditional French bistro alive. The space is cozy and familiar, and the menu hews to traditional favorites like escargots in garlic-herb butter, steak frites and a deliciously crisp duck confit. Nightly specials are a bit more adventurous, such as the duck gizzard salad with duck-fat potatoes and a light vinaigrette that we enjoyed the other night. Servers are knowledgable and friendly, the wine list is reasonable and it's generally just a reliably great place for dinner. Locals take note - the Miami Spice menu is weeknights only, but is otherwise extremely generous with full-size portions of menu favorites.

Another consistently great meal at Petit Rouge. The mussels are always perfect - save some bread for dipping in the delicious broth. Sorbet of the night was blackberry cabernet - a light, satisfying finish to great meal.

Petit Rouge- a superb restaurant when you wish to impress a business associate or your date that you know what good food is. The onion soup and calves liver is a special treat that shouldn't be missed on your visit, and their desserts are very special to help finish your evening. The service is excellent too. It is a wonderful way to spend a relaxing evening. A Miami gem.

Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Couldn't be happier with the choice! The restaurant is small and cozy. I only wish it was located in a better location. However, once inside, it is easy to forget where you are as the decoration and ambience transport you to some place in France. Just the freshly baked bread and butter they give you while you wait for your food is amazing. The appetizers were exquisite: onion soup is out of this world and the escargots are also very tasty. For main entree we had the filet mignon with peppercorn. It was also awesome and prepared to perfection. We got complementary desserts: flan and chocolate mousse. The flan was all right but the chocolate mousse out of this world. We will definitively come agai

We had an amazing dining experience! It was our first time eating at Petit Rouge, but certainly not our last. While it is a slightly pricey restaurant, it us worth every penny and not unreasonable; you are paying for fine dining gourmet food. Everything we ordered, from the blue cheese and bacon iceberg lettuce salad and mussels soup to the filet tartare and duck, was flavorful and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended! FYI: It's a small, intimate dining area, so make reservations in advance. Also, attire is casual. (These were two things we learned for ourselves).

You don't have to go to Paris to have the best onion soup on the East Coast. The calves liver with mash potatoes was great, and their refreshing desert hit the mark. The problem is with just eight tables inside and four outside curtails bragging about the restaurant as if we started bragging, restaurant reservations would be hard to come by. I silently recommend that this is a very special place.

Great little neighborhood bistro -- with the size, ambiance, creative owner-chef, warm bread, impeccable food, and professional service that one would normally only find in Paris. We keep coming back for the escargot, and the steak frites. The right silverware is brought to the table BEFORE the corresponding dish arrives -- a rarity in many American restaurants. The foil from the wine bottle is removed BELOW the mouth of the bottle, so that the wine only touches glass as it is poured. Truly an unpretentious little gem!

It pays to research before trying a new restaurant & all the great reviews are real & any bad review can be dismissed as an envious restauranteur. Chefs take note everything out of the kitchen prepared as if we were royalty or food critics and neither of us two couples are either just 4 ordinary people who experienced an extraordinay dining feast of the senses. Picture a charming dining room with fine cutlery stemware silverware and our waiter David who can teach waiters from all over how it's done. Churraso (skirt steak) cooked to perfection. The filet cooked to perfection for my demanding yet pleasant girlfriend. The meatloaf almost made the other young lady in our table cry "the food is so good I think I'm going to cry". Thank You Chef!

Petit Rouge as the name says is very small, so do make a reservation. The good news is service is excellent and the food outstanding. We were 6 people. We had the sweetbreads very good, salads very good, steak tartare, skirt steak, chicken, trout, duck, nothing was left on any plate. What more can I say. The prices are quite good. This is the best French bistro food in town. What a find.

We were 3 people who had the Miami spice menu. We shared our dishes so we were able to taste everything. The pate was a large slice over salad, excellent. The escargot in an herb garlic sauce, soft and delicious. Endive salad with blue cheese. The Mussels and fries, chicken paillard, the tarte flambee, a thin crust with creme fraich and carmelized onions with smoked bacon, yum yum. Everything was outstanding. The portions were large. We had leftovers. Doing Miami Spice was a great introduction to the restaurant. We will definitely be back. The regular menu is also very interesting and at great prices. The wine list is nice.Well priced wines along with some very expensive fine wines. Our service was very professional. Make a reservation.

Excellent French food with attentive but not overbearing service. The restaurant is quite small and is located in a strip mall which would be easy to overlook if you're not familiar with the area. You can get in and out in an hour if that's what you want to do, or you could linger- the waiter takes his cue from you and is more than willing to chat about the menu or just have a conversation- but does not ignore the needs of the other tables. You don't have to dress up or feel intimidated about your French in order to have great food. The wine list is reasonably priced- no cocktails. The Miami Spice dinner menu is a good value: the portions are regular sized and if you ordered the same things a la carte you would end up paying more.
