I dined over the weekend with two friends. Our party was originally two, but they were able to accommodate us and add one more no problem-shocking for a busy Friday August night! The food, as always, was excellent. My only complaint was that it was a bit noisy, although I guess that's to be expected, and our table was situated in such a high-traffic area that my chair kept getting bumped into.

First of all, this is the first review I've ever written about anything, but one which had to be written. After hearing about The White Elephant hotel for years, our party of 4 looked forward to dining at Brant Point Grill. What a huge mistake! Maybe we had the second string staff on a Sunday night, but all of our meals were bland and overcooked. The waiter should have brought a manager over to our table to at least give them the opportunity to speak with us and perhaps make amends, but that didn't happen as he seemed more interested in rushing us out the door. I would like to think this was a rare occurrence for such a high end resort and am hopeful that management will be more attentive to what's happening on their floor.

Terrific dinner at the Brant Point Grill. Arrived early for a 6:00 reservation to enjoy the harbor view from the outside bar. We were seated promply at 6 and the service from there on was impeccable. The chateaubriand for 2 was cooked to perfection, our companion's filet mignon was delicious as was the veggie entre. The wine list was extensive and had great choices. We ordered wine by the glass and it too was very good. The tempo of dinner was just right and we had plenty of time to enjoy dinner and make the 8:30 ferry back to Hyannis. I look forward to a return visit.

This season, Brandt Point disappointed mostly on service issues. I refer to lunch only, which we ate no less than 5 times. Service, usually stellar with such wonderful servers such as Ramon, was lacking (we did not have the opportunity to be served by Ramon.) Must be a new chef, although we did not ask. That said, the view and general ambiance is worth the slight comedown in other areas and we would continue to return.

While the ambiance was very nice overlooking the water, the food left a lot to be desired. The two appetizers were both incredibly bland and the lobster and cod paella was also very bland. Everything else was fine, the staff was attentive and the setting is picturesque but the food unfortunately was not up to par.

I went to this restaurant before a few years ago, it was excellent, not any more! We arrived at 8:20 for our 8:30 reservation. Upon arriving we were greeted by the WORST LOUDEST band playing in the bar. Hostess area was empty. We waited 5 mins to be told to go and wait in the bar area until 8:30. At 8:35 we went back over, new girl now and waited 5 mins before she got off the phone etc and then she said it'll be a few minutes. The main restaurant was EMPTY except one couple and the outside area was not full either. Eventually she brought us to our table which was nice. Our waiters were good, the food was good too. The original hostess was having an argument with two diners as we were leaving! Maybe it was a bad night for them.

I wanted our last night on our first Nantucket vacation to be memorable so I booked at Brant Point Grill. Service is impeccable from greeting to seating to check. To start, we shared the homemade ricotta and flatbread which was great. My wife and I each had 2 lb. steamed lobster. Not only is it cooked perfect but it is served with tail split and claws cracked. That leaves you with minimal work and maximum enjoyment . My sweet potato fries were outstanding- crisp on the outside (which you never get) and tender and sweet inside. The sommelier even helped choose the right 1/2 bottle of wine, given that my wife was getting asparagus. The chocolate layer cake shared for dessert was good (but not outstanding.) Overall, a worthwhile expense.

Wanted an amazing dinner out. Was extremely disappointed in the food. Crab legs had no flavor, must have been previously frozen. Heirloom tomato salad had hardly any dressing and little flavor. Lobster had no taste. Could not believe you could get such mediocre food at such an 'upscale' place. Would not recommend.

Very nice restaurant with a beautiful view located in a very charming hotel . Staff was very friendly and courteous. One of my vegan and glutten free friends at the table made a special request with a pasta dish on the menu and the chief was ver accommodating to her request which is not always possible in certain restaurants. Food was good. Overall pleasant experience.

The Brant Point Grill is the restaurant within the White Elephant Resort. When there is an event on site, restaurant seating is in the dining room while the event is on the veranda. The views to the harbor are obscured by sheer draperies to create privacy for the event attendees (in our case on Saturday...a wedding). Noise levels were excessive once the dancing began and the DJ cranked-up the music. Restaurant dining is a clearly a secondary income source to the banquet events. There are too many restaurants focused on the diners to consider this restaurant for our next trip.

Food was very good, service was ok. We ate in the indoor dining room while watching a private party in the outside tent. Found that to be distracting and disappointed that we had not been told that we would not have access to that area of the restaurant. The view overlooking the harbor is a highlight of this location; diners should be told that the view is not available when booking. Prior to dinner, stopped at the bar for a drink and that was a very positive experience. Excellent bartender. As a guest of another White Elephant property, we had a coupon for a 15% discount. No where did it say that it excluded meals served during restaurant week. Understandable, but that exclusion should appear on the coupon.

This will be our last time at the brant point grill. Our waitress was like a robot. The support staff was friendly, but in attentive. The did not ever check In with us. The food was very good, but all else was lacking. There are too many alternatives on the Island. The "music" from the lounge just encouraged us to leave as soon as the meal was done. It seemed to be geared towards individuals in their 80's- awful! I'm the first to provide a positive review when warranted- Brant point is over priced and over hyped.

A beautiful setting and a great table with views of the harbor started our evening off right. The service at this restaurant was terrific. Attentive staff without being on top of you. The room is a bit large but the lighting was nice and made it feel intimate. Our meals were incredible - exactly what we expected, nicely cooked, not clever or over thought. Oysters, Roasted Bone Marrow, Caesar salad, Grilled Lobster, Surf and Turf - all excellent. The house Martini's are also worth mentioning...a twist on a classic with Lillet. Overall a very nice evening with great food.

Six of us went to the Brant Point Grill for breakfast on a major tourist weekend. We needed an early reservation so our friends could make the noon ferry. The BPG has plenty of widely spaced tables in a heated "tent" overlooking Nantucket Harbor, and breakfast a la carte is available before the buffet opens. We chose from the fairly imaginative menu and were pleased with the pastrami hash, Nantucketer omelet (lobster), and the Huevos del Playa (shrimp and eggs more or less Veracruz style). In addition to good toast, we had a cornucopia of delicious small pastries. Coffee was good, and both latte and cappucino were available. The breakfast potatoes were pedestrian at best and not up to the rest of the meal. Service was very good.

Our group of 5 people were disappointed in the food and ambiance. This was the weekend of Nantucket's Christmas Stroll and we felt that they took advantage of the people visiting the island and dining at their restaurant. They charged 75.00 per person for a four course meal. We were never told that it was a fixed price or a fixed menu when we booked our reservations nor were we told when we were called to confirm our reservation. The food was mediocre and not worth the money. We felt that we were taken advantage of because it was the holiday stroll. In addition, we were seated on a tented patio and heat lamps were hanging from the ceiling. People who either too hot or too cold depending on which direction the heat lamps were pointed

We were deeply disappointed. While the food was very good, the service impeccable, and the location excellent, we believe we were taken advantage of in two ways. First, we chose this restaurant based on its menu, only to discover when we arrived that it was a fixed menu. At no time were we informed of this--not by Open Table when we looked up the restaurant, and not by the restaurant itself in its email confirmations or its telephone call. I have a limited range of food preferences, so I never choose a fixed menu establishment unless I know the menu in advance. I believe this failure to notify us is an unacceptable practice. Secondly, the price per person, at $75 each, was excessive.

Everything went down hill as soon as we walked in. We were greeted and were quickly checked in, and when I asked if it were ok for us to sit at the bar since we were about an hour early for our reservation, the hostess responded, while chuckling, "well of course you can, you don't have to be seated until it's your reservation time, you're early!" Well first of all Lady, the bar had no bar tender and was completely empty, I was trying to be polite, but maybe if your bar looked welcoming I would actually just proceed to it. Anyways, we were seated promptly for our reservation, and the service and food were both dismal at best. Wine took forever to arrive and food was tasteless. For the $, literally no where near worth it.
